    CoX Emu anyone?

I was wondering if anyone would be up for maintaining a couple of servers for a CoX Emulator? Old SWG has one.
  2. I have noticed that the Stalker AT can be over challenging for some people. I have a possible fix to the AT that could bring more tolerable playability….. “DECOYS” instead of fear.
Similar to the Illusion control power sets “Phantom Army” being ghosts but with a more sinister look to them and all melee attacks ninja style. They would do zero damage but have a large taunt ability just the same.
The devs could make it so a stalker could either unlock this “Decoy Summoning” power at a certain level or make it an inherent power for the AT.
The Decoy power would have a 10 second recharge with only a ten second duration so they don’t always follow you around.
    Discuss…
  3. The costume designer has a lot of horns to choose from to decorate a characters head. Devs, can we please have an alternate set of Super Strength animations that includes headbutting? You could call it Rhino Melee or Bull Melee. Thanks.

    P.S. I'm serious.
  4. We got inspirations for accuracy, damage, healing, endurance, break free, defense, damage resistance, and self resurrections....So why can't we have a new inspiration for temporary "recharge speed?"

  6. Awww come on! No one is thinking Statesman!?
  7. I was just wondering. If Lady Ga Ga was in CoX, whos secret identity could she be for? *giggles*

60 seconds before I get banned from the boards.
  8. In SWG there were these players that would make fat wookies or fat MALE humans in their underwear and dance in the cantina! EWWWW!

    /unsigned NO FAT SLIDER
  9. CoX gets away with Wolverine claws, so laser swords would be allowed based upon previous court rullings i bet.

However, you do know that scimitars and khopeshes are in the game now, right?
There are other versions of scimitars and khopeshes they could bring in. The scimitar they currently have is more of a shamshir.
  11. A new Booster pack with Arabian Fantasy in mind to include:

Flying carpet travel power and carpet customization. Variants include decorative carpet, fire, ice, rock, and tech board.
New costume options to include a variety of turbans with plumes, head wraps, vales, sashes, vests and other attire sutable for the genre.
New sword costume options to include Scimitars, khopeshes, kilij, and saifs.
New emotes to include crystal ball reading, snake charm, belly dance, and whirling dervish dance.

Yes, with the tailor shops being "in game" it removes the virus problem. Unless players have gotten viruses from this game already. 8-/

    1. Make the costume and save it.
    2. Sign up for some kind of free web hosting. It's everywhere, and you don't even need a lot of space since .costume files are so small.
    3. Upload your .costume files to this web space for people to grab. Don't forget screencaps, so people know what they're getting.

All the downloader would need to do is place the downloaded .costume files into the correct folder in their City of Heroes directory, then they could load it up just like a costume they'd saved themselves previously. Heck, if you're really tech-savvy, you could even package them as self-extracting .exe files, so the downloader wouldn't even have to know where to put them.

I know, this doesn't include the "paying for the costumes" that your idea involved, but since it's already possible to do for free, nobody will pay anyway.
Yes, adding this to the game would save people a lot of hastle and add more fun!
  17. I think it would be cool if players could create their own tailor shops with complete costume suggestions for other players to peruse and quickly upload to their own accounts.

In order to see these "shops and their inventory" other players would have to pay a small influence/infamy fee to gain access.

Players who like what they see can then "purchase" the costume for another small influence/infamy fee that immediately uploads it to their own account memory for use in the costume creator.

These shops could either be exclusive to Super Group/Coalition members or server wide depending on the shop owners choice.

No new buildings would have to be made. Just make it a new selection in the Icon/facemaker to peruse server shops that are available.

Now obviously people could forgo the fee to upload the costume to their own accounts by taking screen shots or "two boxing" but I feel that general player laziness plus the small entrance fee should go far to maintain the fun for the shop owner to keep making more costumes.

    Excellent job! Great string!

Here are a few other ideas that I thought I should share from my personal experiences over the past day. These can be found in the many problem strings that have enveloped this forum over the past 24 hours. Neither of the solutions below are ones that I personally developed, but rather are solutions offered by other posters (you know who you are, Thank You!) that worked for me.

    Problem:
Screen is split and bottom portion is not moving.
    Solution:
In Game Menu, go to Options, Graphics menu and change the FSAA configuration from Off to X2 or X4. This should resolve your issue.

    Problem:
Game will not load at all. Stuck in loading banner or crashes before it gets to loading page.
    Solution:
Open the City of Heroes file folder (C:/Program Files/City of Heroes) and rename the data folder to "Old_Data" with no quotes. Then rerun the updater.

These sloutions worked for me. They may work for you. GL

FSAA doesn't exist anymore as of the last patch (8 Nov) now theres "anistropic rate or something like that" and it doesnt fix the split screen problem anymore. ATI graffics bites the dust again.
  21. My wife and I have been playing since CoH beta too!

But we don't play the game to honor some mystical "vision" that they may or may not have. We play to have fun. The devs are in BUSINESS. The most successful businesses are ones that are responsive to their customer base, and that have a customer base that gives constructive feedback, not idol worship and sycophantry.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ya know you wouldn't even have a game to play if it weren't for the "vision" you mention... The superhero genre game has been something MANY companies have talked about and promised and never delivered... Cryptic finally gives us something the superhero fan can enjoy and love and from the sheer amount of direct involvement from the devs it's obvious to me that these people are also comic fans and interested in providing a game that is enjoyable...

You can't tell me there isn't a vision that provides the foundation for this whole thing. And I would rather the devs stay true to that than scrap it because the fire controller is afraid he'll lose his ability to solo the whole zone... (maybe a slight exaggeration but it's frustrating when you're buffing up and the imps mow through the mobs you were eyeing - and mow is NOT an exaggeration)

Games go through many tweaks over their life span and it's rough when you've learned to play the game a certain way and forced to change... Change isn't always bad... and a game like this can be fun regardless...

  23. As one with a 38 Controller I think you all need to CHILL and let the devs do their job...

All I hear is selfish whining. The big picture is what counts and the devs can see that much better than you or I can.

And for you pure gamers out there... remember... The GM sets the rules and runs the world as s/he thinks they should go. If you don't like it that much, you can quit. There will be more players...

Thank you devs for all your work on a fabulous game!!
