Recharge Speed Inspiration please

We got inspirations for accuracy, damage, healing, endurance, break free, defense, damage resistance, and self resurrections....So why can't we have a new inspiration for temporary "recharge speed?"

Because we've already got so many that it'd be harder to get what you need on random drops than it already is.

However making PURCHASEABLE recharge enhancers would be fine by me. Go ahead and do purchaseable speed and range inspirations, too, and I'll be a gleeful happy girl.

They'd probably need to make them limited in some fashion, like cap how many you can use at a time, but otherwise i'd go for something like this!

How about making it a craftable temp power, then? That way the ability to fire off the recharge-speed increases would have a recharge time of its own, allowing you only one at a time.

Inspirations are already limited by their duration. To keep from being overpowered, a Recharge Inspiration would just have to be kept at a reasonable number. Something like 1%, 2%, and 3%. You figure if someone really wanted to load up on them they might get like 12% for small inspirations and a whopping 36% recharge for big ones, which may seem like a lot, but you have to figure it would only be for a short duration and then you'd be out of inspirations. If they test it and the normal duration (which I think is a minute) is too long for that much recharge, simply shorten the duration to like 30 seconds.


If you don't like something change it; if you can't change it, change the way you think about it.

smalls 10%
Med 15%
Large 20%

There is a limit on how many you can use - the recharge cap.

Smaller values would be pretty meaningless in the situations where you'd likely be wanting to use them. ie hit with -rech for one.

Won't cut the duration, but rather how much it affects you.

I'm inclined to agree that slow/-rech protection added to oranges would be a nice addition. I've bounced the idea around before that they should be res to all, including the aforementioned debuffs, as well as such things as taunt, placate, end drain, tohit debuff and even mez reistance (not protection).

Basically anything that you can generate some resist value to should be covered under oranges. I will note one exception though, defense debuffs, I think purples should actually have a small DDR value attached to them.

I think he means one that you click to use and has a limited duration as well as several charges.

The base buff is really good, but just passively buffs you for... I forget how long, but quite a while.

i can't imagine an inspiration that would last longer than that (or be stackable to last an hour since most insp last about 60 secs or less--might be a bit longer for the longest tier of insp but certainly not one hour) so a recharge insp would be pointless unless you carry nothing but them.

Recharge speed inspires are hard to imagine when most powers' strength is at least partially balanced by recharge. The devs have said they were at least somewhat okay with the effects or invention +recharge bonuses on power balance, due to the level of investment/rarity of achieving high recharge. Inspirations would do the same, if not worse, for a FAR cheaper entry fee, if not blowing those high-recharge characters' power balances off even further.

What I would like to see is orange inspires buffed to help resist debuffs. As is, purples are far superior in coverage, as their dodging ability not only nullifies damage, is nullifies many mez and debuff powers as well. It would make sense, then, that oranges make not just the damage that hits you less effective, but also the extra stuff. (Barring mez, as that is covered by break frees.) As such, it would help resist -speed, -recharge,-end,-recovery, and -regen.

I like the idea of more types of inpirations dropping.

Players shouldn't be able to reach the recharge cap on their own. The introduction of IOs has blurred this a bit, but i guess at those numbers it would take your entire inspiration tray, so maybe that's a good trade-off. *shrug*
