The inability to target yourself is probably a really basic code thing that would be a small piece of hell to change.

I support the "suppression field in tiki lounge only" idea. I'd like to be able to teleport MYSELF around in the much larger bar/dancefloor area, and if there's no question of griefing by teleporting people into cages, I don't see why I should be forbidden from doing so.
Also, teleports aren't suppressed in the Chalet anyway... so how would this be guarding against that? -
I know! You'd think he wasn't part of an organization dedicated to fighting them at all!

Quote:I lol'd at this. Sam, you've made my morning. How many cybernetic hearts can I fit into my chest before my rib cage starts sounding like a kickin' drum beat?
All the rest of the stuff you said about origins is exactly how I think as well... using the example of the Destroyer bomb, not every Natural character is as quick as Batman, but then again, if yours is less Batman and more, say, Armstrong from FMA*, you can always go the old fashioned way like a non-natural-or-tech character if you feel like roleplaying. I'm kinda snickering though about how as a Science-origin character, Synapse himself couldn't take the "quick enough to yank out both wires" route. Tee hee.
*Disclaimer: I don't actually watch FMA, so I have no idea how fast Armstrong actually is
EDIT: And to throw my hat into the game-writing-breaking-my-character ring, my blueside Widow, an escaped experiment who isn't even a licensed hero, avoids red tape, checkpoints, and all that by means of psychically making people ignore her - but still, the Vanguard security officer calls her over to check those credentials she doesn't have. Herp. No real point, just think it's a little bit funny. -
Quote:Oh, of course. Similar-but-not-identical is great, it's just identical-to-signature-look stuff that I'm against. Dreads in general ought to be WAY more common than only belonging to one character ever. I'd like some for sure... just maybe not HIS particular dreads. That's not quite what the thread is about, though.Couldn't care less about Marauder's unique gloves, I just want his hair. We don't have dreadlocks at all. Closest we got are those cornrows. Then he gets dreadlocks. Can we at least get those? I'm sure it wouldn't make him less unique if the people of Paragon City could actually have a normal hairstyle that happens to be similar to his.

Quote:Man, you'd never believe that I've done that mission arc about thirty times. How did I misremember that so poorly?I don't recall reading anything that ever said they were an "item."
Most of the information with regard to GW/Wretch comes from Seer Marino's arc which seems to lean more towards the idea that they were friends before the mission and when Belladonna died she had been worried about him. As such she still worries for him.
Seer Marino states "Paolo was my older brother, but treated her as a second sister, and had volunteered to act as her back-up for a routine assassination."
He sees her as a Sister, not a lover.
OK, just disregard everything I said then. I'll go to bed. -

Quote:I don't have the slightest idea why they didn't go with how she looked in the concept art. She HAD a unique tights pattern and hairstyle... why the balls couldn't she keep them? For example, the new Bobcat is... weak in appearance, she really does look like just about every other Catgirl PC out there, complete with maxed out boob slider and you really can replicate her easily in the costume editor.

We can't have these.
Sisters Airlia and Solaris have multiple cape systems, which, if allowed to players, would fry folks' graphics cards with how render-intensive it is. It's OK on NPCs because the devs can then control how many double-capes are around, and thus minimize the impact on our poor computers, but if you've ever been in an eight-man mission full of Mu Guardians you may have noticed your game choking a bit. Now, imagine Atlas Park on Freedom or Virtue full of PLAYERS that do that (bigger zone! more players! ALL of them have double, or even quadruple like Airlia, capes!), and tell me how attractive an option that is. Yeah, I'll pass, thanks.
As for the Illusionist, while I do like that dress a lot, long robes and dresses apparently look completely horrid with a large chunk of the player animations we have, so we won't be getting them, ever, at all.
As for Mother Mayhem, Vanessa DeVore, Neuron, and Marauder, I can't speak for every player of this game but speaking for myself, I don't really like the idea of these great big important NPCs not being unique anymore. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I don't think Marauder should look like just another PC hero or villain, you know? Mender plates and Carnie sashes are one thing, but I wouldn't want to see loads of player characters running around with stuff that only exists on ONE NPC as their signature costume part. It kills things. -

Holy balls, R-Tech. That mask is BRILLIANT.

Ha! I happen to have exactly the same character concept, with the same execution, on one of mine... only I picked different colors. My zombies have Ebola!
-
I want this as a chest emblem.
Seriously. -
I'm still bitter that the giveaway happened on the ONE friday this month that I had class. No, cutting was not an option.

How about a matching hero/sidekick set - Atomsmash and Mecha-Dawn, played my myself (the former) and a friend (the latter):
Radiation-themed tank (really stone/energy... one too many respec trials) and a cyborg blaster (arms by Vanguard!), super fun. -
Okay, so - auras that have a "chest" option (Alpha, Beastly Rage, etc) and a "hands" option currently don't have an option to use both together. We get "chest and eyes," "body and eyes," etc, so why not "chest and hands" as well? I have seen several characters that would look fantastic with an option like that, some of my own included.

Quote:Holy balls!
I used to have his colors (and facial hair) match Snaptooth better, but I changed them to keep him looking more like his main costume (he's a leprechaun)... and to avoid all the angst from teammates who thought I was a foe.
Meanwhile, here's my own Carnie demon tamer and Council warshade:
Nowhere near enough vet months to use the Council emblem, unfortunately. -
Fun fact: Every time I see this thread title I misread it as "Lego Praetoria." But meanwhile:
Araneon - A former intern at the TPN, Araneon uses powers gained from one of Neuron's experiments to watch Praetoria from high on her majestic skyscrapers' walls, snaring dissidents easily and delivering them to the BAF.

Yeah, what ClawsAndEffect said. I have no idea how many costumes I have sitting in my directory that don't have any names that'd work for them. Occasionally, I get a flash of inspiration, think "No way can that name be free," check it anyway, and it is - I got Power Balladeer, Seasquall, Silverwing Sentinel, Paindemic, Geiger Contessa, Plasmette, Illumineer, the Hour Thief, Caffeind, Fissure Strike, Atomsmash, Double-Dealing Diva, Jotunheimer, Sideshow Suzy, and Ol' Hickory that way. And it's not like I saved them for ages or play on a nearly-abandoned server, either: they're all less than a year old, on Virtue.
In the cases of Jotunheimer, Ol' Hickory, Geiger Contessa, Atomsmash, and Sideshow Suzy I had to make minor changes to the original names I'd thought of (Jotun, Old Hickory, Geiger Countess, Adam Smasher, Sideshow Sally). So far I've never been unable to tweak a name that was taken into something that wasn't.
And yes, Ol' Hickory is a time-traveling Andrew Jackson. DP/Pain. It seemed to fit him, based on what I've read about the man.
