More costume slots?

This has been bothering me for a quite some time. So, how about few more costume slots?
All the new additions to costumes and we still have to suffer for the 5 slots.

There is room for 5 more costume slots at various levels, without breaking the current system. This should have been done ages ago.

This is being requested so often. Even so,

Always support this, but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

I never have understood why they don't allow you to simply buy as many slots as you want.

Costumes, character slots, AE slots. It's more money for them and things like character slots are more incentives to keep playing and making alts. Some people have 36 slots and want to make more characters but don't want to goto other servers. Why goto other servers when your friends are all on one server?

Right now the ONLY thing that Champions Online currently does better than this game is its ability to offer its players the option to buy extra costume slots for characters. At this point I almost think it's sad that this game has not followed suit and given us the same feature.

People have wanted more costume slots in this game pretty much since the beginning.
I just wonder how many more years will it take before the Devs address this...

I have another idea that would complement an expanded slot cap: a "Fantasy Costume Creator."

At any point in the game, the player can enter the Costume Creator interface from the Costume window. This is where the character "envisions" changes to his/her costume.

The player is free to experiment with the costume options they have available. They can't apply any changes to their character (it is a fantasy, after all), but they can save costumes made using this interface and then load it up in a Tailor.

Unlocking a Tailor Day Job Badge will allow the character to "recall" Tailor prices as changes are made. The player can use this feature to look up prices at any level from 1-50, and see prices using three discount options: Vet Reward, Coupon, and No Discount.

Pretty sure you can do that exact same thing with the AE tablet, JAG.

And I'll support this. Not a big deal to me, but no harm can come from it.

... um... other than doing it "from any point in the game," how is this different from going to the tailor and saving your costume now? (Given you can see prices in the tailor as you do so.)

I have a hard enough time coming up with enough costumes to fill the slots we have now, let alone even more slots.

So there's little likelihood I'd ever get much use out of such an addition.. However I can see how this would be a huge boon to much of the player base, so I would totally dig this being added.

Your comments has regained a little hope I had in the online community.
Thank you

It's no different than calling a contact from anywhere in the game when you get the same briefings, missions, and story progression by meeting them in person. Or using Ouro portals and SG base teleporters when you can get anywhere using trains, ferries, and helicopters. Or slotting IO sets when basic IOs, SOs, and DOs do the job just fine.

It's not reinventing the wheel or making an older model obsolete. It's simply adding another way to skin a cat.

I'd say there are a few other things they do better than this game but there is also some stuff in this game that I want over there. Keeps me interested in both games. Its a nemesis plot.

Eh. I don't know. Unless I'm misunderstanding you. But going in and playing with (but not being able to apply the changes from) the costume creator from "anywhere" just seems like a bit more hassle. (And no, it's not like slotting IOs over SOs, etc. - unless you routinely "slot" IOs but have to go somewhere else for them to take effect.)

The one specific issue I'd have with it, of course, is that the costume creator interface takes up the entire screen. In the tailor, you're in a safe zone (barring someone doing something stupid to grief people.) If you just stop somewhere you "think" is safe, you can still get killed - and you won't see what's going on until you exit.

Now, if you're just looking for more tailor access? Throw a "Tailor terminal" in the SG base. That, I'd go for - along with a WW terminal and the like.

Like I said, you can already do the whole "edit costume" thing with the AE tablet. From anywhere that isn't an instanced map like bases or missions.

One of the upcoming veteran rewards is also a /auction house command which really imo should of been tied to get all the auction badges. But that's another discussion.

I'm torn. On the one hand I would love new costume slots. On the other hand new costume slots seems like it would entirely be a UI issue since the hidden 6th slot for VEATS shows that the database doesn't have a problem storing and loading more than 5 costumes.

And after the "classic" team window I dread the new UI guy trying to improve anything else.

Perchance have you played Everyone Versus Everyone Online?

Actual safe spots are easy enough to come by, and people are smart enough to take advantage of them to enhance or respec. I doubt anyone would have this problem using a costume editor.

Well I suppose if you dig deep enough you could probably find some things to support your idea. I'm just coming at it from the point of view of a player who's been playing CoH regularly for 7 years versus giving up on CO a few months after it launched. As always YMMV.

Imo every theme packs should add a costume slot to all characters on an account ideally all costume veteran rewards should add a slot too

I haven't played CoH for 7 years, and I gave up on CO because it made my CPU cry.

Here's my two cents on the discussion:

I could carpet a small apartment with half the options lists in the CoH Costume Creator. The Chest Details alone could do two whole bedrooms.

Here's to hoping there's a CC redesign somewhere in the cards.
