  1. Is there a way to tell, when in the new store interface, which items we already have access to vs. things we dont already have. I like that they included the ability for VIP to purchase the game content evn though they already have access via their VIP status, but I would like to be able to tell what I already have when using the store.

Ideally, we would be able to distinguish between; What we own, what we have access to vie VIP but haven't purchased, and what we don't have any access to at all. I know you can tell from in game, such as during character generation, but it would still be nice to be able to tell from inside the store so I don't accidentally buy something I have already bought.

I agree, they are unlikely to ever get rid of it, but anything they can do to squelch it, even just a little, is welcome.

Believe it or not, the costume options are not the end all be all of this game. I certainly don't think it is the deciding factor to weather you Pay to Play or go it Free. I would say that power/AT selecetions would be a much bigger concern, as would anything that actually, you know, made your character more powerful; like IO's and Incarnate stuff. Huh. that must be why that stuff is limited to people willing to support the game with money, fancy that.

    • Cannot use Invention Origin enhancements
    • Limited Chat Channels (No access to: tell, broadcast, global and request)
    • No Mission Architect
    • no salvage, no recipes
    • No Trading"
I am here to atest that the game is easily playable without any of the above. None of the stuff listed except chat capability and trading existed in the game at launch, and was not added for quite some time. We were still able to play the game just fine, so will the F2P people. If they gave the whole game, what would be the impitus for anyone to actually pay for the game?
  6. Ok, this may have been answered before but I haven't seen it so I wanted to ask...

Will players that maintain a VIP account be able to purchase items that they have acces through being VIP but would loose if they go premimum? So lets say as a VIP I have access to all power sets and AT's, but if I drop to premimum I would loose some of these; will I be able to purchase access to these while still maintaining the VIP or would I have to let the account slip into premimum before I can buy them?

I ask because I also play another MMO that has the VIP/Premimum/Free2Play model, but VIP accounts cannot buy content granted by the VIP status, they have to let the account slip to premimum first.

I would even support it being a relatively high price to keep it from being abused.

Does this interest anyone else or would this be too game-breaking?
The funny thing is the the original guide for the game (the one back at release) listed powerset respec as the reward for the Tera Vota (sp?) trial. It claimed that you could respec everything except origin. Unfortunatly, when they finally activated the trial, it had changed into the respecs we currently have, which don't allow for changing power sets.
  12. Giving the game an Anime look and feel is one of the few things that would cause me to cancel my account. I have had my active account since the 3-day head start, but I would cancel it over this.

I like amime well enough, but bringing it into CoH, well thats just not the game I joined up for, nor the game I wish to play.
  13. Well, speaking from the viewpoint of someone who has been here from beta and tried many other MMO's (this was my first) it is the only one that I won't allow my subscription lapse for.

The game has change alot over the years, but the one constant has been quality players and quality content. Sure the road hasn't always been smooth but like the heros we play. many have weathered through the good times and the not so good times, and were stronger for it.

I love to see new players enjoying the game for the first time, and it is a testiment to the quality of the game that it is still getting new subscribers after 7 years. Thats staying power.

Oh, this I don't like. Is there a way to have your character never allow this power then. I always refuse this and do not like that I can no longer do so.

What I DO have is something like 5-10 characters between blue and red sides that are in the 20s and almost none between the mid-20s and those two 50s.
Well, I have had my account active since the 3-day headstart after beta (wan in end of beta as well), and I have only 1 level 50 and that is a Hero Blaster. My highest villain is early to mid 30's. I have seeveral toon is the mid 20's and early 30's and 4 in the 40's.

  19. Well, I thank you for all the responces. I guess I'll have to scrape the entire Idea. I guess I'll have to wait to make missions till they have added more flexibility.

    Thanks
  20. ... I can't figure out how to do some things. How do I:

    1) Escort to object instead of exit? I am trying to make it where I rescue a hostage that I then need to lead to an object instead of to the exit. I have created the escort goal and assigned them dialog/actions for when I reach the escort target, but I don't see antwhere where I change the target to an item instead of the exit.

    2) Insure that the final boss and the target item are located at the same location? I want the final boss and the target item of the escort mission [see above] to be located together.

    3) Have the escort disapear and be replaced by a powered person mid way through the final battle? Iwant the escorted person to be removed and a powered person to appear in the middle of the final fight. The new powered person will not be alligned with either side and could attack anyone including the character/group.

Thank you for whatever assistance you can provide.
  21. That is a nice build. I personally avoid the Speed pool, 40+ toons not one with Hasten or Super-Speed. Yes I know, hearasy (sp?), but I am getting better I used to avoid both speed and Fitness.

Yes I agree that wilpower doesn't require Tough and Weave, but it helps absorb some of the larger alpha's. That way you're not taxing your regen so early in the battle.
  22. Oops, sory, he only has 53.2% Smash?Lethal and 38.3% Psionic. The numbers I gave earlier were from my Will/SS Tanker. This guy doesn't quite get to the tanker levels. Sorry for any confusion.
  23. Great post, I thought I'd do up a character based on this guide. The slotting is gonna be REAL expensive (two purple sets and several of the more sought after individual enhancers) but it seems to be worth it. He ends up with 52.5% +recharge time so Rage is perma with only three RechRdx and no Hasten. He has 70% Smash/Lethal resist before SoW as well as 42% Psionic Resist. I hope you like it.

Jeez, I barely ever use a respec. I don't know how some of you do it

My only worry is that this will make it even harder to get on respec teams, which I think has become harder since the vet rewards. Might it be a good idea to update the respec trials, to give people more motivation to use them?

It just bothers me a little that as the game has gone on we have seen some zones become less used, monsters get ignored and now respec trials might now go the same way.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm feeling your pain brother. Since I'm a 42+ month vet I have more respec than any of my toons could use. I have 3 servers full of toons and only one of them has used a vet respec so far. I also have 1 freespec saved for every toon (haven't used them since the last free one). I've only done the respec trial like 3 times and one of those was before any freespecs were given out. I've actually wasted respecs just to recoup the Enhancers in the powers to sell them, when I change my slotting for things like enhancement diversification. I figured why not use it, they were just about to give us a new one anyway. I can't count how many freespecs I lost because I didn't use them and we were given yet another free one.

As for a change to the respec trials, I have a suggestions. Make the respec trial give what it was origionally supposed to give. Origionally the respec trial was supposed to allow you to pick compleatly different powersets. It is even stated in the first strategy guide. At some point it was changed to only allow repicking powers.

I'm not sure why so many respecs are called for. I couldn't imagine changing my toons every time a new Issue came out.
