Super Group additions

What tweaks would you like to see for Super Groups?
What new features?
[/ QUOTE ]
Please raise the member cap. We have had to make 5 SG's just to accomodate all our members and their alts.
More than 3 ranks would be helpful and the ability to remove old inactive leaders who haven't logged on in months. With the member cap at 75 every spot is precious.
One feature I liked in my old MMORPG was color coding the SG or guild name by the players rank within the SG / Guild. Certain colors designated that players rank for that particular SG or guild. An example would be the SG tag in white designated a member, Blue designated one promotion (Lieutenant) and Red designated the top rank leader.
Thought of another one....
A SG alert. Allow a leader (or preferable configurable rank ability) a toggle ability to activate a SG alert. This would cause the SG symbol to flash on the SG Team members screen, placed in an un-obtrusive position so as to not anoy the player. Then the members who are avaliable can by going to the activating leaders position.
I could see this a crucial when base raids come into play. "Everyone to HQ were under attack". Think of it as our SG's version of the bat signal.
I realize you can put out a call in the SG chat channel but not everyone pays attention to that, expecially those of us who use Teamspeak.
Be a hero!!
Don't know if Statesman is gonna get this far down in the thread, but here goes.
(in no particular order...)
1. Bank/vault/repository/etc to deposit enhancements, influence, inspirations into for other members. Perhaps an optional 'permissions' setting so that withdrawal access is limited to captains/leaders or is limited to those that are explicitly given permission.
2. Gender-specific titles. In other words, right now, it's really difficult to use, as an example, an aristocratic theme to your SG titles. Say the leader was 'King' ... it'd be nice if you could have a 'Queen' option for a female leader. 'Duke'/'Duchess', etc, for captains, what have you.
3. SG Specific Content.
4. Bases and Vehicles and Gadgets, Oh my!

I'll just repeat what some folks have already said:
1.) More ranks that can be customized.
2.) Ability to promote and demote people even when they are OFFLINE
3.) Ability to make ALTS for people's characters under one account name. So if I have Joe X and Joe C instead of them taking their own slots I want them to only have one slot representing that it's me.
4.) Place to store influence so that people can make donations to the SG bank in order to buy the base with COV.
5.) When COV comes out, I would like a garage for player vehicles but that's a different topic.
6.) Increase the length of the MOTD by a few characters as I find myself running out of room too often.
7.) Allow the ability to make a category like say "Rookies" levels 1-14, "Greens" 14-25, "Veterans" 26-35", "Elites" 36-45, "Legends" 45-50. By doing this it could promote SG mates to strive for that higher rank in an SG. Or however it goes, and puts them in their own special category divided by a little graphical border.
That's all I can think of for now.
I pretty much agree to what everyone already says... just wanted to to say them again:
1. Generals should be able to remove other leaders. Captains SHOULD NOT be able to remove other ranked members
2. Be able to promote offline members
3. Automatically kick any SG member that reaches a certain idle time... say 60 days? Or 30 days enough?
4. Fix the bug on "Last On" sort
5. Be able to change SG colors / logo
6. "Enter Supergroup Mode" should put each member in a uniform created by the leaders - SEPARATE from what they normally look from their 4 available costumes (so no need to go to settings for each costume slot). This uniform should NOT take away from each member's available costume slot... not fair to those in lvl 20s or lower. AND its quite annoying to have to go to settings for each costume slot to set the SG colors BUT should be able to have this choice if you want to wear SG colors out of uniform
6. Have some sort of a bank / vault for each member to use to make transfers easier for main/alts since most people have only one account.
7. Announcements: there should be a separate SG message box that can be printed in red... to make important announcements away from the Message of the Day
8. Have the ability to send a supergroup e-mail message to ALL members at the same time without having to type all 75 names
9. Yes, primary and secondary powers listed. If primary / secondary powers can't be listed, have the ability to look at any member's info on-line or off-line
10. Addition of listing each member's levels is a definite +, but now can you add a marker to those members that HAVE NOT trained... to show that the level is not current.
11. Some sort of a marker or a check box each member can check to sign up for some SG event... like a respec and have it shown on-line or off-line... so to make it easier to coordinate who is in for what events.
12. Increase the amount of SG roster to more than 75 OR have a linked SG home for alts
13. LIKE the Friends List... a message should pop up in chat box for each SG member that logs on. Sometimes its quite annoying when an SG member logs on and the rest of the SG is in battle and of course fails to say hello to this member that just logged on. I constantly have to keep going and look in SG roster to see if anyone new came in. BUT only when they first log... I don't want a list of every SG mate popping up everytime I zone (like Friends list)
14. Maybe a marker to show whether an SG mate is teamed or unteamed... to prevent flooding the SG channel with "need a team?" questions
15. SG bases... I'd like to hear more on this! But if one was created... have a button to zone straight to the SG base from where ever you are for a quick log-out. Not to be confused with running from battle... the button should automatically put you in the SG base AND log you out.
Thanks for reading...

Alliances....so that you can check who is online from an allied sg and have a much larger group to get TF's and such going.

I cannot agree with this idea more,
a SG costume slot where the creator of the SG is able to select costume options that are available to both male and female characters and is independant of the 4 slots given to a hero.
the ability to kick out leaders that are inactive, the guild creator thing is a good idea and the guild creator power should be also allowed to be passed to another person incase a SG leader that made the sg quits the game and is then able to hand ALL power to another hero that has no plans of quitting anytime soon. this would help free up SG space for SGs that have inactive leaders but can't get them out of the SG since they're a leader.
Larger SG numbers, i know this has been asked before and been denied before but it still is on the wish list. also could there be a reason given for not allowing SGs to get larger than 75 heroes?
SG banks where heroes are able to pool their influence and enhancements that they can't use but someone else in the SG could possibly use. it's bothersome trying to save those obscure lvl 51+ SOs for other heroes sometimes when you can't ever get a hold of a hero that could put use to it.
also can the "joined SG" list be fixed? currently that displays the last time the hero logged into the SG and not when they joined the SG over all, i did like that feature in the old SG tabs but it's been taken out and now is bugged.
Alliances and ways to communicate with other SGs and/or joing two SGs into being a massive SG through the alliance function.
Most of my ideas have been posted already I know.
so most of these are comformation of ones i like.
If you get special sg missions be able to set the SG foe, because most comic sgs have a specific thorn in thier side
maybe have a slight inf bonus(not exp since there will probibly be a fee for HQ the nfluence gain will be off set) for compleating personal missions against the SG foe, also the foe should be of comparible level to eachother so everyone doesnt just set it to the easiest foe and camp
I like the special costume slot.
I like alliance chat
I like inf bank
I think there should be at least 5 levels
creator(reserved only for founder, same abilities as leaders except they can accually distroy the SG if they choose, and be able to boot other leaders, make it require over 50% of other leaders to boot founder basically a broadcast to all leaders online boot founder are you sure? same method to promote a leader to founder 50% of total leaders must vote yes ) this will prevent hostile takeovers since youd need a majority vote.)
leaders( all the curent powers of the top rank and same powers as creator slot change motd, colours ect just different titles and there can be more than one if the founder quits they dont really loose this way, not able to accually distroy SG just leave it( unless the creator has quit)
Recruiter( the ability to recruit others and promote and demote people below recriter rank.
Member( able to kick or promote aprentices, maybe access to SG costume/SG HQ)
Aprentices( entry level no special privileges keep em out of special sg privileges and hq can be a good thing ive seen people in other games join SGs and rob em blind then quit so having a setable SG level access on hq/safes/cabinats or at least a level that doesnt get access till they prove trustworthy, maybe also have em not have to pay hq rent either so joining at this level would be kinda like now, you can swap colours and talk in sg channal)
I think that privilege levels should be setable by creator/leaders via a check box or something, if they have a accept all gifts/res/teleport this should not apply to lowest rant( assuming a trail or aprentice level)
They should have some In game Bullition board for notices
we should be able to join multible SG but have to pick a dominant one for colours/symbol say 3 max( maybe be able to set em to costumes)
We should be able to see SG members on map like you can see teammates maybe make the arrow aqua rather than green, friends also( maybe make those arrows pink/orange)
since you can set what you want to see on map people can toggle to see arrows they want.
a special SG battlecry. not unlike the personal one maybe typing /sgbc will triger it
I highly doubt you'll ever get to page 16 of this thread, but...
I'd love to see supergroup Names show up a different color (like people on your team show up as green, maybe make SG mates show up as...red, or something).
Super Group Uniforms!
Being able to create a UNIQUE Supergroup symbol!
Besides that, it'd also be cool to have several 'message of the day' notices. Like a 'next meeting' and 'meeting location' thing. Or maybe even a supergroup log in alert 'SuperDan has logged in' in the blue supergroup text.
The ability to keep your current chest logo while in SG mode. Sometimes the chest logo is important to the character and it doesn't make sense for it to change.
The ability to change SG colors and symbol after creation.
Alliance chat. Definitely alliance chat.
More ranks would be nice, the ability to demote inactive players would be great.
Also make it so that if the last leader quits the SG it assumes that the oldest middle ranked member gets promoted, not a random lowest ranked member. (this actually happened to one of my groups.)

<ul type="square">[*]Allow SG Leaders to change SG colors & symbol without reforming entire SG.
[*]an SG EVENT sub-tab on the SG interface, where Leaders could post dates & descriptions of upcoming events, such as Trials, Task Forces, or whatever strikes their fancy.
[*]Ability to quickly and easily add all SG members to your Friends list OR a box to check so you'll recieve notifications when SG members login.
[*]Ability for leaders to setup a period of innactivity that results in characters being auto-dropped from the SG roster. I suggest a series of check-boxes for 30, 60 and 90 days...so SG leaders can choose the level of commitment that's required to stay in the SG.
[*]Display Global Chat handles in SG menu (at player discretion). This should be optional, where a player would have to check the "display Global Chat Handle" box in their SG options. If they check the box, then their Global Chat handle will appear in this column, allowing players to see which alts belong to which players.
[*]Ranked SG Chat Channels. Give us the option to make a Captians-only or Officers-only SG channels so SG leaders had a channel to chat in without involving all the lower-ranked members. While global chat might soon offer the ability to create custom channels, it would be inconvenient to maintain such channels manually.
[/ QUOTE ]
I vote for all of those listed above (especially the auto-drop feature). If there is only one leader and they are inactive for the defined amount of time, kick them and automatically promote a captain to leader (the most recently logged on or by alphabetical order)
<ul type="square">[*]Put back in the total Hrs played column (and make it actually work) so we know instantly who's on most of the time.
[*]In the SG Settings, if you're going to show the members, have a scrollbar so you can see all of them. Otherwise remove it.
[*]Have an export SG table command so that we may look at/print out and otherwise organize the SG information better.
[*]" Global Chat Name Online Status " Column in SG menu (member option as to whether it is shown). That way we can see members' alts that have/want to be in another SG due to size limitations or other reasons.
[*] SG Contacts that we can talk to for SG member only events.
[*] Fix the filter for the "Last On" column!
I'd like a few things:
1. A "days inactive before boot" setting. Just a drop-down that Leader-class members can set that automatically kicks any member that's been offline for X many days. Including other Leaders. Maybe with a "leave of absence" toggle for heroes who've gotten permission to stretch the deadline. This would both solve the problem of vanished Leaders and save a little daily managment chore for many SG's. I also like the idea I've seen a few times down the thread for an auto-demote or "rank decay" instead.
2. The ability to self-demote. Right now the only way to stop being a Leader in a supergroup but remain in it is to quit entirely and get a Captain or Leader to re-invite you. It's also impossible to found a supergroup without becoming its Leader. I can imagine role-playing or political situations where this would be annoying, even if it's never really game-breaking.
3. SG emblems that aren't available to individuals. It always seemed odd to me that SG emblems are selected from the same list that the Character Creator uses. Maybe have this be the reward for some grand, epic SG-only trial or task force. Not having an SG emblem would be a nice option too, especially since the default emblem if your SG's founder forgot to pick one is the dorky Anarchy A. Resizing or moving the emblem around on your character (on your helmet / back / biceps / thighs / buns) to improve how it looks is a non-SG-specific but also significant QoL issue. We already know that there's a shrunk-down verson of all the available emblems, for use with the suit jacket. Why can't we use that on any of the other top options?
4. Now that Global Chat is imminent and we'll theoretically be able to identify people by their global chat handle, I heartily second lionsbane's request for 75 ACCOUNTS rather than 75 toons in a SG. I suppose this might create problems with people who have multiple toons in multiple SG's, though... maybe a menu akin to the Badge menu that lets you pick which of your SGs you want to use at the moment?
5. A certain amount of SG info on the "info" page for each hero. Maybe their SG's name, how long it's been around, how many members it has, and who the leaders/captains are?
6. I like Felisse's ideas for multiple new SG ranks.
7. Server-wide SG roster: what SG's exist and how many members they have, who the leader is, etc. available at the SG Registry desks in Galaxy and Atlas.
Not sure if it was posted before but how about chest emblems that aren't part of the standard costume set?
[ QUOTE ][*] 75 ACCOUNTS rather than Chars. Alts should be allowed in SG without compromising slots. (by the way, this is the best idea I've seen in this thread -- well done, lionsbane!)
I think this is a fabulous idea!
Also semi-permanent sub-teams: as an example consider all of the various teams which make up the greater X-Men family. I know my SG members would like to be able to create sub-groups within the SG that have a unique existence but are still within the great SG. Probably they would have an additional name component, and would default to the same colors although those would be able to be modified (or perhaps a third color added?). Personally I think the logo should remain as for the overall SG, however.
to address the idea of an SG vehicle,
it would be a LOT of work for the devs... and we already have travel powers
they arnt needed... though a teleporter would be easier and nice...
and on the idea of an SG Bank... for the influence, i would say if you have it placed into an SG and not personal bank, it would only be able to be used for SG upgrades
[ QUOTE ]
SG RESPEC....this would be cool to possibly be able to change colors or logos, if the SG did a TF to accomplish this.
[/ QUOTE ]
People have said they wanted teh ability to change sg colors/logos/get a new costume, and I think this is a great way to do it.
The idea I had was something alon gthe lines of the respec, but with a comic book twist thrown in. Anyone who has read comics knows that when new lines come out, the costumes/group changes. X-Men did it, to name one. They've done it alot of times, actually. So instead of radiation changing your powerset, have the task force move you into a new generation for your group.
For instance, you move from "Golden Age" (the beginning) to a more modern era, with updated colors, costumes, logos. Of course it wouldn't matter if you looked modern to begin with and then made yourselves look golden age, the point is that after the TF your group has dynamically changed.
One thing i'd like to add to SG missions is not only a contact who gives them out, but a contact who actively calls you. you could limit it to only contacting leadership, or let anyone get calls, but it would make the whole, "Sorry, SG calls, gotta run" line a whole lot more realistic. The missions could range from soloable, just something the contact needs your sg to do, or something large that pertains to the enemies you hate above all. It would be different than just having to run to the contact every time.
Income: Based on the security level of each of the members, the group earns influence as the members earn influence. This influence is available to the whole group in the pool.

Brilliant!
To expand on this idea and also bring in some vision. Think about the new Justice League unlimited as an SG in COH. They have what at top level SG should have. A base with teleportation/vehicles to get to any area (or mission) and the ability to hand out missions to its members.
So how do we take these ideas and turn them into a system that starts out small and at the top level gets to JLU status or beyond?
Level 1 SG. When making an SG, its currently free to register. Thats fine, thats level 1. Currently just a way to have a new list of friends and a chat. (I really think the current SG system is pretty poor)
Level 2 - A base of operation. You need to buy a base and as touched on in COV it costs influence to persuade the city to give you a place rent free.
Level 3 - A SG needs to expand, but just using each members influence is.... boring and puts the burden on some level 50s that already have super bucks. What we need is when you get your fist base its a run down building in KR or Hollows, its a small room with a table and one NPC. This is your Paragon city liason that the SG members must do missions through in order to increase the SGs influence. This NPC is able to give out missions to each person based on thier level. When you select this mission only SG members can be on your team or added to the team. Any influence gained by the team members is added to the SG's special influence that can be used to purchase:
Purchasable items using SG money (the same NPC as above has a list in which only the SG leaders can access).
1 Move your base to a different area.
Cost based on zone, and distance to train. (Low cost up to Moderate)
2 Add a trophey room to your SG.
On high level SG missions if your SG beats an AV and you have a trophey room a statue version of that AV is added to your trophey room with a plaque that lists date of capture and all team members for the first capture.
Cost - Moderate
3 Crey teleporter - Can send anybody that clicks on it (think crey portal in PI) to the enterance of their currently selected mission.
Cost - extreme
4 Crey personal teleporter - accolade that is given to each SG member once when they enter the base. Click this power and you automatically zone to the SG base.
Cost - extreme
5 Select a SG nemesis - as stated by solo_4114
accolade with a perm power given to each member as they enter the base for the first time. Increases the number of missions versus that nemesis as given out by the SG NPC.
Cost - high
6 SG supercomputer - replaces the NPC with a super sized computer and screen that has more missions to select from The NPC has 2 at a time, the PC has 6. This simulates the SG being hooked into more Crime prevention systems.
cost - High
7 Crey portal - Only able to purchase after you buy the nemesis. This portal acts like an instanced hazard zone (think of a tram mission with hazard zone spawn sizes). The portal only spawns mobs from the nemesis. The level of the spawns is based on the team leader that enters the portal. This portal leads to a dimension where the nemesis has taken over. Your SGs goal is to clean out the dimension and free it. On the flip side for COV the villans also get this portal and their task is to make sure they keep this dimension. This could get really complicated but could end up helping define the push and pull for PvP in COH. Because this is not in our world nobody gets any influence for any "kills" in these "missions"
Cost - extreme
8 Expand base by one room.
Work out room - just for looks, no usable features.
Dance party - smaller version of the current Rave, no exits.
Coffee shop - just for looks, no usable features.
Computer room - just for looks, no usable features.
Magic room - just for looks, no usable features.
Science room - just for looks, no usable features.
Vehicle room- just for looks, no usable features.
etc...
Cost - moderate per room added, max of X rooms.
9 Labs - these are like stores, they buy and sell enhancements based on origin.
Science lab, Magic lab, Tech lab, Gunsmith, Genetics lab.
Cost - high
10 SG vault - an NPC "store" that buys and sells enhancements for 0 infl. Great way to unload unused enhancements for other SG members without worrying if they are online.
cost - high
11 Training room - Arena so SG members can PvP spar with each other with no benefit or loss.
cost - moderate
12 Holo(Danger) room - 100x100 area that creates spawns in the center based upon a selection entered in by a person at a terminal outside the room that can look in through the glass. Through the interface the user can select spawn size, level and enemy type (council or vahz, etc). All spawns count as pets(no exp) and any defeats gain no debt. The spawns despawn when they get close to the door.
cost - high
Hospital - Instead of getting transported to the city hospitals your SG members zone to this room in your base upon defeat.
Cost - high.
Remember folks things like kicking SG leaders, changing colors etc are needed, but they should be obvious to the devs now. What this game needs more of is focused content that brings an SG together with a united plan. At first it starts with just getting enough cash to buy all the cool features, then it turns into a turf war with a COV ?SG?. This kind of content keeps the game interesting at all levels.

This is, peerhaps, everything I want in my dream supergroup.
Also, on the idea of mobile Bases, how about some kind of Blimp?
[ QUOTE ]
Letting the creator of the SG have the ability to demote the top-level commanders of the SG or possible kick inactive ones would be nice. I have 3 leaders in my SG now who haven't played in 2-3 months and, with new members rolling in, I could use the space.
[/ QUOTE ]
/sigh
Except, what if the creator quits? That's where we are. Inactive for 154 days, or something similar. A slot we will never get back.
a 4th rank for probationary members would be appreciated.
The ability to look up other SGs up in the Hall of Records to see which groups you might want to petition to join. Make it so you can read the info and themes, and be able to send email to the contact person.
Rather than SG colors(which no one really uses to try and match everyone else), an extra costume slot designed by the group founder. Make some of it override-able. Like someone can still pick their own face, skin color, and hair. Make Aura's possible in this form too.
Siskos could rank the top SGs based on total combined level of all members and most currently active members(currently online).
Give SGs power options with power disadvantages so as to help out themes even more. Like...
Undead Hunters: +5% damage to Undead/-1% damage with all other attacks
Fire Heroes: +5% damage boost to fire attacks/-5% resists to Cold damage
Robots: +1 Mag sleep, stun protection/-5% resists to lightning
Shadow Heroes: +5% resis to Dark energy/-5% resis to Energy
Ability to save SG-mode costume color settings separately for each of my 4 costumes.
(sorry if this was already listed, can't read 20 pages to share a short idea.)
Alliances. Mostly Chat, but also for other things (being allowed to enter other team's bases, for example).
The ability to change colors and chest symbols.
The ability to truly edit the MOTD text (not just delete or add to the end).
An auto-remove feature for toons that haven't been logged in for X amount of time. I suggest defaulting to "forever" and having options for 30, 60, and 90 days.
A way to email all members of the SG, all members of a certain level (all leaders, for example), and (when alliances come) all members of the alliance.
