Can we have an SG catalogue or something?
In game and not on message boards... like an SG application counter where you can read about all the SGs and their short description... as well as a categorisation (Language/National based, Theme, RP, PvP, etc)... keyword search...
And from that counter you can send an application to become a member

I think it would give a chance to smaller SGs with very specific interests to find their targeted audience. (ie... there are people who want language based SGs... or very specific themes like "Steampunk"... but it's hard for them to find each other)

Plz forgive me if any of this has been said I just dont feel like reading 20 pages of replies.

*Tweek to SG mode for costumes so that I can change each costume's sg colors. Currentlly if I make the top white and the pants black on one oufit then it changes for SG mode on all oufits.

*SG Missions

*SG levels (what I mean is your SG can lvl from 1 to 50 based on the actions of its members. Doing missions, the number of high lvl members all such things could go toward the SG exp which would lead to the SG lvling.

* A place in game that allows people to see what SGs are seeking members and to apply for membership without having a Leader from the SG invite them. Leaders of the SG can go to the same place to see who has applied and take whatever steps they see fit to accept the person.(this could be done from SG bases with the applications outside the base or in a looby that is open to all for non SG members to apply.)

*SG advertisments. Maybe SGs can advertise for membership on one or more of the billboards around the city.

About a SG bank - just as interesting as being able to put Inf in it would be to be able to dump enhancements in it. Instead of selling, we could put enhancements intoa SG cache where others could pick what they need.

As leader of my own group I would like to see,

0) The founder rank. The one person who starts the supergroup is the founder. There can be only one founder at all times (except in the case of a merge). The founder has complete control of the supergroup at all times.

1) the ability for the founder to choose how many ranks there are.

2) the ability for the founder to choose what each rank does.
ex: I want to be able to choose which ranks can invite which can promote. then when the bases hit, which ranks can have access to the supergroup vault (assuming there is one) and so forth.

3) a founder class that can be only one, and that can't be promoted to, but can boot and control everything.

4) a merge ability, where a smaller supergroup can merge with a larger supergroup. Making two founders after the merge. This way no one leader will be more powerful when they join together.

5) the ability for the founder (and any subsiquent leaders who have the ability to) to set an auto boot day. So that if any character, regardless of rank stays inactive that length of time they are booted. If the founder gets booted then the person who has the highest rank gets promoted. If there are two people of the highest rank it goes by who has been the highest rank the longest.

6) to be able to save an original supergroup color design for each costume slot.
ex: everytime you switch costumes the color settings stay the same, thus unless you get the exact right settings, one costume will look good, while the others look wack.

7) Supergroup abilities
Ex: Everytime you kill a baddie in SGmode you earn points exp or bonus points toward your supergroup. Then once you have accumulated so many you can upgrade to give your supergroup powers.
What I'm thinking here is like SG accuracy. Where if you have 3 or more supergroup members on a team they will each have their accuracy increased. I'm thinking more along the lines of auto leadership type things, not powers.

Well thats all I can think of, but I really would like to see the supergroups expanded a lot. more control, more options, more more more. Its my supergroup that really is keeping me in the game. Its the people, and I would love to see more options to play with them people.

In creating a Super Group. I found that I wanted to add my alts. to the group. But short of giving someone you just met the ability to invite people, can you make it so SG creator can invite alts in to SG at time of creation? It would give me a greater sense of ownership of the SG until I get to know others more to trust them with the Invite Authorization.

Thanks for this forum.

At the risk of being redundant.....

1) vault....for leaving INF (to specific SG members and, maybe, even a general INF box for any member in need), enhancements, and temporary powers (why should I hold onto a temp power--which is designed especially for a particular foe--if my missions are no longer around that foe type? why not leave the power for a SG member who is going against them more frequently?).

2) Transportation out of SG Base....should be able to send you directly to any section within Paragon City. Not just certain towns.

3) Global SG email....takes the place of re-entering everyone's email addresses & I don't have to redo the Message of the Day.

I dont know if this has been said yet, but unfortunately the new Supergroup Window has lost the ability to sort by Last Online. This was a very helpful feature to see all that are online as well as see who hasn't logged in for a long time.

I havent read all the posts in this thread so it could be mentioned already..
Please make SGs bigger !
I was in one of the biggest guild on my server and they had to make subguilds just to place all the people (one sg for alts, one for lvl 50s etc)
This is no fun. People miss half of what is going on.
CoH players make a lot of alts. And a guild having 75 members will never ever have those 75 members online at the same time, I estimate its more like 10% of that.
So to have a reasonable number of people online you need more people in the SG.

Hi States

A lot of things have been said, a lot of good suggestions! The ones I like and would like to see in particular are:

1. Expand SG max members from 75 to at least 100, or 125.

2. More distinct SG indentity options. Some things that would be good are:

2.1. Unique logos, for SG use only, or better yet a unique logo creator that would work like the costume creator works, on set logo templates and elements.

2.2. An additional costume slot, for the official SG costume This would work best if members are allowed to chose which costume elements to apply from the SG costume, and which costume elements to keep from their own costumes. Just like it works now with the colours

2.3. Access to unique costume elements for use in SG costumes... conditions on how these unique costume elements are attained could be a successful SG-based mission, a certain number of SG members... etc.

3. Allow the leaders to change all these identity settings after SG formation.

4. Alliances and alliance chat.

5. More than 3 ranks, at least five, at most seven. Ability for SG leaders to select which rank/s get recruitment powers.

6. Overhaul of the in-game email system to more resemble conventional email services, ie Yahoo, Hotmail.

7. SG rewards and recognition Ranks! Badges! Temp powers! It would work like an 'Employee/s of the Month' system. SG leader chooses one person or a small group of people who have shown great dedication to the SG, to be rewarded with temporary badges, attached to temporary powers. Powers could be anything; nothing too powerful, but more designed to make that person's playing experience a little bit better. Faster travel speed, tad less debt for limited amt of deaths (The Nine Lives Award)... etc The said member then has the benefit of that power for a month, and may not be awarded that power again next month.

And the most important thing: Simplicity. Whatever fun and functional things you decide to add to the supergroup concept, I'd really like to retain how simple and easy it is to navigate through all the options.

That's all, and I can't wait to see the changes that are coming to help make SGs a vital part of the CoH experience.

This may be a bit trickier, but it would be nice if we could have "reserve" membership, linked to being in two SGs at once. Like having a primary SG which is displayed under your name as it is now, and another one you can also join with a reserve status, so you can still get the chats and costume color options, and just have a note that says you're a reserve member for that SG in your description, or info when someone checks, but you can't be promoted, or anything like that.

It's a bit much, and not something many would find a use for, but it would be nice. I've had some experiences with friends and myself, where we had commitments to an SG, but played with another SG more of the time.

SG alliances with a possible own channel.
And honorary SG members. SG leaders could invite a player, even those already in a different SG, enabling them to see the SG list and talking on the SG channel of the SG they're a honorary member of.

When on a mission, and all team members are of the same SG... make the NPCs and Enemies say the SuperGroups name instead of the players name.

ie "Thankyou Superfriends, I was afraid they would kill me"
"I here Aussieman and the Superfriends are on there way"
"Kill those meddling Superfriends"
"I would of gotten away with it, if it wasn't for the Superfriends and that hero Aussieman"

A tab on the character info screen that shows info about their supergroup.

Plus a short description/origin/background for the supergroup.

An XO position in the SG.

Special SG only badges/awards.

1) We need content for SG's. As most other posters have said... story arcs, missions, etc. for your SG. Perhaps even selectable missions by the teams leader in their SG base, so they can have even log in and play a specific mission at a certain time easily. <might also include something like an arch-nemesis for the SG, so that they get random ambushes from them or something>

2) Rewards for being in an SG and doing the above... maybe badges for the SG missions and/or story arcs.

3) I have altitis (up to 23 now) and so I would like to be able to have all my alts in the SG plus everyone elses alts. This takes up a lot of the list slots. There should be a way to have just their account in an SG or something for each server <or chat name> so that then ALL of that persons Alts would be in the same SG.

4) Need to be able to sign up members easier. Perhaps a place that lists each SG with a short description, time when players are on, etc. So that people could then petition the SG leader for membership.

5) Vault in the base for Inf and enhancements. This would promote people to makes alts as well as help starting members catch up.

6) More colors and or special colors for costumes while in SG mode. Make it more special so players want to be in a SG.

7) Special chest emblems for SG groups.

8) At least one more rank for members... 3 is not enough.

9) SG email so the message of the day can be just that... but you can still send out messages to all members for planning things.

10) Perhaps a small bonus to a team of all the same SG members while in SG mode. For example, maybe bonus for getting enhancements while fighting in SG mode... or increase damage by 1%, etc. while in SG mode.

--all I can think of off hand :0

The ability to have carriage returns in the MotD. It's a tough read when you have multiple annoucements to the group, and it all has to be crammed into one paragraph.

Also, it'd be nice to be able to scroll back through the text of the MotD on the Supergroup screen without having to delete your way back to it. Makes editting easier.

I would also like to see more ranks and the ability to assign specific resposibility to those ranks.

A SG bank/enhancement pool would be nice

And to reiterate more than 75 members, you're killing use here!

The inclusion of a $SGMotto variable so we finally have a need for the motto would be great.

Good idea! I would also like to suggest $sgname in addition to $sgmotto. This would allow us to use dialogue such as:

/local Greetings! I am $name of the $sgname. $sgmotto!

What tweaks would you like to see for Super Groups?

What new features?

[/ QUOTE ]

How about a new form of the mentoring process? When taking on new members into your SG something along the lines of proving yourself dedicated to the group. Say Joe Blaster asks to join your SG you assign one of the Senior members to be his mentor. As a mentor you would have special chat options so that you don't have to be on a team with Joe to speak with him and unlike the /t command this would be a tab or chat option that operates without prefacing every line with /t? Also new member would have to contribute and earn rankings in the group beyond the initial rank. A form of SG experience system. You would gain experience by adding to the SG Vaults assuming those get added and doing SG based missions? Lets say that SG's gain the option to war against a specific Villain group be it PC or NPC so that missions against that enemy would give SG points. Once a member has achieved enough points one of the leaders could then promote him up the ranks giving the player access to more of the groups and bases perks. If vaults come into play there should be a security system in place so that apprentice members cant come in and raid the place then quit. Withdrawls from the base coffers would have to be monitored and cleared by the leaders and even then the amount that anyone other than the SG head could manipulate would be limited. This will prevent alot of problems I can forsee even though it will be considered a hassle.

Not a completely coherent post but I've just worked a 20 hour shift so sue me.

In addition to most mentioned previously, I'd really like a confirmation dialog for kick, promote and demote. It's awfully easy to inadvertantly do one of those through just right-clicking on an SG-mate.

Well I'm happy with my supergroup as is. We only have 14 members and we have no desire to change our SG appearance (colours & logo). However, there are a few things that bug me:

1. When the ninth member logs online the team is already full! Can't there be some sort expanded SG team? The maximum of 8 is to low.

2. I definate want a "bank" or "locker". I'm tired of carrying around the Magic enhancement until the Magic origions come online. I'd rather dump it in the locker for them.

3. SG colour customization on all costumes. Currently the SG colours are set on Costume 1. If I switch to costume 2 I have to reassign them.

4. SG member online notification. That way I can have a freinds list AND a SG list.

5. Others can see our SG motto. What is the point of the Motto anyways?

Thank you for your time.

With the addition of SG bases have a bank where SG Members can deposit Enhancements and Influence for other members in there SG to use.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree this would be great. many of our members have enhance we can give to the lower lvls and for lower lvl alts. It would only make sense because at the very high lvls the toons have so much infl, selling off enhance becomes even a waste. I wouldn't think a bank would even be hard to do, nothing fancy just functional for the time being. I would think about a limit of such though, for example you can withdraw one or two ehance per day and maybe a cap on infl withdraw also. This would stop any would be digruntled players from screwing things up.

Heck I would even settle for now with a personal bank (many people do not have an SG to help them so this may be a better alternative) to drop stuff in. I have been helping with some mishs waaay above me and have gotten some great ehance but it is quite a few lvls before I can even use them. So, I am forced to sell them off, I would much rather hold on to them.

Fix the sorting by "Last On". Allow re-ordering the columns.

Add a "Founder" rank. Founders are able to demote/boot anyone, even another Founder. This would be used for SG maintenance, for example, when SG executives have gone MIA.

Obviously, bases/headquarters/vaults would be invaluable.

Allow founders/leaders to change SG settings such as team colors and chest detail.

Allow the Chest Detail to be optional in Supergroup mode. It looks really silly on some Chest types, and perhaps this is the #1 reason many members never use their SG mode.

Here are my ideas - both which have already been suggested - in that case, consider it another vote:

<ul type="square">[*]Vault - I would suggest that people in SG's get a (slight) bonus to their influence when they recieve it via normal channels, but that bonus goes to the SG vault. The more people in a team doing a mission that are in the same SG, the greater the bonus is for each individual. Then, people within the SG can withdraw from the influence vault whenever they want to. To me, this better represents the influence that a supergroup has AS A GROUP. While I understand the desire to have a vault that you can put influence in, it seems a bit too much like money and to little like influence for me. (Not that I would MIND having that ability - I just prefer this method).
[*] Team moves - SG teammates can learn special moves when they're together. They're earned like mentoring badges - you simply learn "the slowball special" (or whatever) by being with your teammates. I would imagine that you could learn moves with non-teammates as well, but it would simply take longer. I can see some moves being like Specials for scrappers, in that they simply automatically occur - others could be toggles that you have to have running simultaneously - the really powerful ones could simply be click powers that have to be activated within a certian timeframe of each other to work properly.[/list]

Ok I know I'm not adding anything new, but I'll put my wants up here.
1) More than 75 members.
2) More than 3 rankings (Dangit I need a doghouse to put the uppity ones in!
3) notification when SG members log on
4) ability to change colors/symbols
5) ability to demote other leaders, since I have made leaders with misclicks.
