I will never be playing it again. But you continue to Nerf PvE powers that have been established and in the game for nearly a YEAR for your glorious PvP balance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We endeavor NOT to change powers solely because of PvP. The powers we are changing are usually because of PvE or PvE AND PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think anyone paying the game knows this is just a public relations line. It is obviously not the case.
  2. I really like the game CoH a lot. I can see where some people would like PvP in this game, but I personally could give two hoots about PvP. It bothers me a great deal that they are going through a game that is working well (granted there are some little issues - there are some issues in every game) and rip it apart in order to rey to make PvP work in a system that was not designed to have PvP in the game.

They are destroying the CoH system trying to make this round peg of PvP work in the square hole of the CoH system.
  3. This is a spiffy keen way to punish the non-PLing people out there for what the PLers are doing.

Will it slow down the PLers? No, the will find a way to cheat the system. They always do.

Will it hurt the normal players? Yes, at times it can.

I really don't like being 'punished' for what someone else is doing.

When on a mission, and all team members are of the same SG... make the NPCs and Enemies say the SuperGroups name instead of the players name.

ie "Thankyou Superfriends, I was afraid they would kill me"
"I here Aussieman and the Superfriends are on there way"
    "Kill those meddling Superfriends"
"I would of gotten away with it, if it wasn't for the Superfriends and that hero Aussieman"

    [/ QUOTE ]

This sounds really cool, but think how hard it would be to implement. Lets use this example and say your supergroup was named, "The Superfriends" - in that case the NPCs would be saying:
"Thankyou The Superfriends, I was afraid they would kill me"
"I here Aussieman and the The Superfriends are on there way"
    "Kill those meddling The Superfriends"
"I would of gotten away with it, if it wasn't for the The Superfriends and that hero Aussieman"

In my opinion those pheases just sound a little silly and would detract more than they would add.
  5. Fix the new bug where you can no longer sort by 'Last on" date.

Promote/Demote characters that are not online.

    Demote top level characters.

Edit: one more thing I think would be nice. The ability to add the supergroup logo without losing your current logo (on your chest). What I was thinking was, the ability to add the supergroup logo as a smaller logo over your left shoulder/chest. Similar to the way the captain of a hocky team has the "C" on their jersey.

If you MUST do it by genre, complete the mission's objectives, THEN go fight the boss. And if he's about to kick your butt, you can run away, or stick it out and be defeated. EITHER way, the mission's over. The boss was tougher than you. But you took care of business.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't really pay attention until yesterday, but I know every missions I did yesterday could not be completed without defeating the boss.
  7. Yesterday I did 7 missions. Every mission had a boss at the end. Only one was announced in the text before the mission. According to Statesman, 'If you see a boss, you should get help.' I was thinking about this...

I also read comic books. Once in a great while a comic book hero will be in over thier head and have to go get help, but you don't see Spiderman going off to get help EVERY issue. I would think CoH would be the same way. Once in a while you need to run off and get help for a mission (for maybe an AV), but I don't think I should have to run off and get help for every mission I take.

Actually, if a boss will appear in a mission, the mission briefing mentions it. Check the text.

    Mission briefing:

    "Find the Justifier

Lou Pasterelli: Thank goodness you're here, [Character Name]! I really need your help. One of the heroes I work with, the Justifier, hasn't come back from his last mission. I asked him to investigate some caves inhabited by the Devouring Earth, but that was two days ago. I haven't seen hum since! Please find the Justifier for me. You only have 1 hour to find him!

Thanks, [Character Name]. I won't forget this. If anything happened to Justifier, this city has suffered a great loss. Finding him is important, but be careful. I don't want you to succumb to whatever happened to him."

Timed mission with an unannounced boss at the end.

Merusel Valenzuela: There's good evidence that the Council is planning some kind of major strike soon. Happily, my network of contacts has given me a good idea of where they're massinf the supplies for this attack. If you can take out those supplies, it will cripple their plan. While you're there, keep your eyes open. Anything you can learn about the Council's new plan will help.

With any luck, we can stop this Council strike before it starts."

No mention here of the boss I found in the mission.
(and 'yes' - the boss had to be defeated to complete the mission)

    Mission briefing:

    "Rescue Zyla, the ambassador

Lou Pasterelli: I just got a call from a municipal officer. They've got a serious situation there; the Devouring Earth are raiding the building. They're doing the best to keep the doors braced, but they can't hold out for long. I need you to save those people from the Devouring Earth. There's no time to waste.

Portal Corporation may be the most dangerous enterprise in Paragon City. I don't even want to think about the Devouring Earth getting their hands on that tech!

Mission Complete: You defeat the Devouring Earth and rescue the hostages."

Humm... I may be missing something. I don't see the mention of the boss in this mission. I am in the mission now and looking at the boss.

Edit: In fact, as soon as this mission finished it immediatley spawned a second mission (same description). The second mission also had an unannounced boss in it.

Okay, I am checking the text...

    "Stop stage magical sacrifice

Alison King: You know the National Guild of Stage Magicians is holding its annual convention right here in Paragon City? I should have known that would be trouble. I just got a call from the convention chairman; some Circle of Thorn mystics broke in and made off with a handful of attendees. I'm countimg on you to rescue those magicians from the Circle of Thorns, [Character Name]. I don't know what's in store for them, but I don't want to find out.

This wasn't a random attack; according to the chairman the Circle was very selective about their victims. Those people need to be rescued and whatever the Circle was planning for them needs to be stopped. You'll have to stop any bizarre rituals the Circle may be performing on those magicians and rescue any magicians being held hostage."

So, where in this text does it mention there will be multiple bosses on this solo mission?

If a player sees a boss of his level, he should probably get help...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then maybe you shouldn't put bosses in almost every freakin mission? Then maybe they should be something RARE and the mission should say, "only take this mission if you are going to bring along some friends".
  13. Someone high up in the CoH employment food chain must like scrappers an awful lot. Scrappers were obviously more powerful than any other class in the game. Rathar than draw back the power level of the scrapper to make them in line with the other classes and the villians of the game, they up the power level of the bosses to challenge the scrappers. Of course this makes it so that the other classes can no longer even complete their own misssions... but this doesn't seem to be a problem.

I tried my first mission after the patch with my blaster. It was tough... a challenge... a good mission. Until I got to the boss. I used 6 inspirations including three 'good luck' and went into the fight. I hit him one time. Then he hit me once, took off half of my hit points, and knocked me down. When I was on the ground, before I had time to get up, he hit me a second time and killed me. I had to zone out and ask some scrapper to come in and defeat my boss while I watched.

Then I went to my second mission. Again it was a good mission until I got to the boss at the end. Again I used all the luck inspirations I had at the time (4 luck inspirations). Again I got in the first shot, then was hit for half my hit points and knocked down, again I was killed by a second shot before I was able to stand back up. Once again, I zoned out and asked a scrapper to come into my mission and defeat my boss while I watched.

I am going to hang up my non-scrapper characters until they fix this. The game is no longer playable to the non-scrapper characters.
