Whoa. I'm a bit surprised Cryptic sold the rights....
-
Usually when I play a pen and paper game if I want a picture of an NPC I can use CoH or Heromachine to get something. But I recently started a Transformers game and am having trouble being able to create custom characters.
Several months ago, a friend of mine found some super deformed heads of Transformers. He compiled them and I got my hands on it. I ripped pieces apart with MS Paint and now have a decent ability to make transformer heads.
But I lack the bodies. Which brings me to this wonderful forum.
Would anyone be willing to make a series of body parts that I could use MS Paint to combine into Transformers for free?
I'm thinking something as simple as a series of chests (2 or 3?) and some waists and arms and legs. And also a section of car pieces and other tech decorations I can throw in random places. Like a sprite sheet of body parts. Heads would be welcome to since I doubt the styles would be the same.
I know, I'm asking a lot. I honestly don't expect any takers, but if I don't ask I won't get any either.
Another thing, if someone knows a better place to make this request let me know. I'm not knowledgeable about stuff like this. -

The Vanguard base contains a special Vanguard Workbench that will allow for special costume pieces (tied to Rikti War Zone recipes).

NO! BAD DEVS! BAD!
I hate invention costumes, but I can accept it as long as there are at least 3-10 times as many new pieces given for free.
I REALLY HATE CRAFTING COSTUME PIECES! -
Actually I don't think I like those wings. They are just a bit too wierd for me.

I wants metal sheets ala Archangel and I wants dem now!
I'll cry! Seriously. You wouldn't want to see me cry would you? -

What?!
They put the red-side version of Hamidon in Sharkshead Isle?!
<censored>
I really, really hope that they seperate that part the same way that they did blue-side; trying to get to the various enhancement merchants and mission doors is hard enough; trying to do it while dodging/avoiding mito blasts as a L20-L30 character is going to be murder.

Unless I'm mistaken...

In addition, the Villains get their very own Hamidon zone in the Abyss.

the Abyss isn't in Sharkshead.
Quote was from Positron interview here. -
I could just be being cold about it but really, it's all been said before. Go here and read why your fears of DOOOM are unfounded.
-
Probably not since they will be two completly different games. That's akin to asking if we can use our heroes in Marvel Ultimate Alliance.
-
SlickRiptide, you have said very eloquently what I scream to myself. Well done.
I hadn't even considered that MUO would increase the player base! That's a good theory with some evidence to back it up. Lets wait and see if it holds true.
EDIT: And to those who feel spat upon, think of this. If you have ONE moment of fun with the game in a month, then you got what you paid for. Rather than feeling like you are being betrayed why not look at like you've been paying to have fun, which you have. If it ends, so what? You still had your fun. -

Oh - and I'd love to do a giant mech game. Love it.

Statesman, I have 1 word for you. Transformers. I would SO play a Transformers MMO.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why must you put forth an idea so awsome that I am ashamed I myself did not think of it, and simotaniously want to kill myself (joking) because such a game does not exist? -
I think you are judging it too quickly when there isn't even anything known about it.
I advise you to wait and see.
You may be right, but you may be wrong. If it hits it could blow up and be a game everyone and their mother plays. It could also do mediocer ( only spelled correctly). And the 3rd option is it fails.
The point is, it's WAY to early to start saying the game will suck or rock. -
Hey Iodine, while your points are valid, I would like to point out that it only takes one success to become a HUGE success. It's worth the effort to make console MMOs because if they get it right then just about every console in the country will play it. ( Of course I'm exadurating but you get the point )

Well since Microsoft Media has the rights to Battletech for the electronic gaming angle (Xbox, PC, etc), see if you can bring back a great series..

Like what was said above me, I would prefer an origonal setting to an old one. -
Rush_Bolt, you're right, but at the moment it's all we got...
Unless we have convinced Jack to change that. -
There were plans for an official expansion like WoW's Burning Crusade (as an example).
Instead they took the content for it and are putting it in the free Issues. 9 - 11 to be precise.
At this time crying about CoX dying is like saying who the next President is. It's WAY to early. -
I hope for a CoH 2 some day.

I wont be shocked if some bigtime cool stuff is in the works for COX. Jacks good at keeping it quiet till we least expect it. Just wait and see.

I hope so, because I just got a friend to quit WoW and play CoH, and I'd really have to kick myself if this game is going to basically become maintanence in the next year.
In fact (though this will change), I'm not even in the mood to make my new character.
It's like that artical threw a javelin right through my heart... regardless of what Statesman says.
[/ QUOTE ]
My god. How can you be this upset by it? It sounds like you are looking for an excuse to quit. The game still has through I11 planned. I9 through 11 was going to be a retail box for crying out loud. -

I'm kind of surprised there isn't an MMO based on 'mechs yet. An entire genre of anime is based on giant mechs - I'd think there'd be a huge market for a Battletech, Robotech, or other 'mech-based MMO...

Jack, please please please make a mech game! I love giant robots and a world with as much detail as CoH has gotten would be awsome. I've got images of a mech walking around a larger and futuristic Founders Falls now, thank you very much.
But if I could put one more idea into your head, have this fictional game be as customizable as CoH. You can have loot but make it so each piece of equipment as 2 or 3 ( or more ) different styles. That way I could build a mech for looks without making myself weak in the process.
But on a different note, why is Jack posting so much today? Isn't that against the rules or something? -
Oh you were asking about player experience as opposed to developer experience. I still didn't know the answer but obviously yes. Don't you feel lucky? 3 rednames already.
-
I don't believe so, but I'm no expert
-
I don't think we're as much of a niche as people like to think.

This game is gonna bite it the minute MUO is determined to be a success (if it is a success) ... If MUO flops, the CoH/V will still survive.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll be cancelling my CoX account if MUO is any good. I can say that with 100% certainty.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ditto. There's no question in my mind. But the devs had better well had learned their lessons well from CoX. If I see something like ED again, I'll be happy to go into the arms of SOE. (No I didn't play SWG, nor do I care about NGE).
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey dude, people make mistakes and do things developers didn't intend. Can people ( in general, not you ) please get over the ED thing? It's been over a year already. Sheesh. -

Personally, I'm going to stand back and watch MUO for a while before I make any choices on it. I'm pretty wary of online games that have a big name attached to it. World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XI are good examples.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm hopeful that Cryptic will give preferential beta access to CoH players. It seems likely, so perhaps we'll all get to see what its like in MUO Beta.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would be freaking sweeeeeeeeeeet. I am so hopeful and excited about MUO. The devs have shown us how much they have learned with things like the new Faultline and how powers are slowly being better balanced.
I don't get all the fear-mongering that CoX is doomed. That's not liable to happen. Sure, I doubt there will be as many of us, but doomed? Pfff. Then Ultima Online, Everquest 1, and all those other ancient games never should have lasted as long as they did/have/are. Actually, it seems once an MMO has really established itself and settled in, like CoX has, it just doesn't one day on the way to the proverbial fridge have a heart attack and die.
