We started trending more towards 3/year within a few Issues...mostly because we started learning about the production & QA cycle.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not to be harsh, but as you know, there weren't three issues in 2006, there were two-- and the (perceived) major feature of Issue 8 had to be postponed in order to achieve that many.

Ergo: disappointment in the update schedule.

We remember when Posi said they wanted to get I8 out by September right? Who would've been ok with a slight delay, like early October?

I'm just wondering if it's the fact that it feels late or if it's the amount of time that it feels late by that's getting some of us a little frazzled.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, that and the fact that they already cut the major system it was intended to showcase. Now you've got Vet rewards (great... IF you happen to be a vet, zilch for the rest of us), a remodeled zone and safeguard missions.

CoP still offline, SSOCS/Inventions still put off to the indeterminate future.

    XP and I5

    That's interesting.

Of course, most of my fecent deaths have been due to getting area-restricted hunt missions. There's no way we could benefit from the debt cut if we die fighting villains our missions are set to, I assume?

(That is, if my active mission is "hunt 15 CoT", and I die from CoT, could I only take debt at the mission rate?)

I agree with your the to prioritize mission maps and make deaths theret less painful , particularly for grouping purposes. It's just that I still have no choice about whether or not I get stuck with one of those gosh darned hunt missions.
  4. OK, I need help pretty badly here. I'm at debtcap, and have been for some time-- and despite my bravado ("Permadebt means no fear!"), I'm getting pretty tired of eating turf.

Now, word is that SnipeFu is the most helpful poster this side of the Yellow Line. They Say that the Energy guide is the best of the best.

So when I needed some serious respec advice, there no question where to turn....

My build, as is, at Level 25:

    Power Blast/ Dmg 5, Accuracy 1
    Power Bolt/ Dmg 3
Sniper Blast/ Dmg 5, Accuracy 1 (mmm, snipe...)
    Aim/ Recharge Rate 1
    Energy Torrent/ Dmg 4, Accuracy 1
    Power Thrust/ Damage 1 (expired)
    Build Up/ Recharge Rate 4
    Brawl/ Recharge rate 1
    Dash/ Run Speed 1
    Sprint/ 0
    Rest/ Rechage 1
    Hover/ Flightspeed 1
    Fly/ Flightspeed 1
    Swift/ Run Speed 1 (expired)
    Health/ Health 1
Stamina / 0 (strangely, I'm not having End trouble, despite this)
    Hasten/ Defense 1, Recharge 3
    Stealth/ Defense 1
  5. Something to DO.

That is, content designed to be done BY supergroups, that might have components at multiple levels, or need to be executed at the same time, or require (As with raiding) >8 heroes working together. Arena battles as groups and base raids (circa CoV) will be a help along this way, of course. As it is, the groups are just kind of informal social clubs with matching outfits and a dedicated chat channel-- there aren't any tasks specifically designed to employ them.

It's as though every Justice League arc was just a Superman arc with a couple of other guys sidekicked along.

On an easier to implement scale, perhaps some badges that could be obtained by the *entire* supergroup, if a particularly difficult set of circumstances were fulfilled?

    Skills is in Issue 5...

Issue 4 revolves around the Arenas (now under construction)....

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ....

    No.

I've been unhappy with the one-note gameplay (even if it is a pretty good note), and I've stuck around since I2 waiting for the long promised skills system, on the premise it would give the game the non-combat activities, (i my mind, the depth) that I felt was lacking.

... I'm seriously considering cancelling my account over this.

Mission customization: Choosing between "regular" mobs and +2 level mobs is not really what I would call a customized mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sigh. That isn't at all what I meant. Mission Customization means, well, a mission has been customized. It's where we go back over old missions and add new art & functionality.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You also forgot to mention those nfity giant monsters (Octopus, ghost ship) ...

It's just that the really sexy new toys this update cycle are the powers and archetypes-- and there's no way I'll be able to level up to play with them before Issue 4, if ever. I think that's why this thread exists. You have some decidely shiny toys that will be locked away from a lot of your players who simply don't have hundreds of hours to spend on the game

It happens. *shrug* At least Issue 4 will give us the skills system as its centerpiece, so I'll be able to play with that. Hopefully.
