  1. To answer the question of the post - no. It might be to late for this character but honestly don't buy or slot trainings. Get lvl 15 common IO's at level 12. Don't buy another thing till 22. Stick with that till 32. Then look into sets if you want to hassle with them.

    In response to the rant. Honestly, even before the Auction House outfitting your character isn't that difficult. Yes you had to do every 4 or 5 levels but there was no need to do it all at once and could be done gradually. Since the auction house now there is no reason not to keep a character properly outfitted. My low level characters have more INF than ever. Not because I know how to work the system just because that is how the system is.

    Me too. The idea of an evolving storyline is perhaps the greatest weakness in MMO's that I know of and is perhaps the thing I want most in a game. One of the big things that attracted me to CoH was an evolving storyline (particularly when they are suggesting that the servers would be different based on what the players as a collective did). So, far it has been kinda disappointing I hope this means a big change.

    Because this is an old topic that like many other old and pointless topics never dies. I've read several threads concearning this topic. For the most part I've stopped reading threads on this topic. The only reason I read anything in this one is because Castle commented on it.

    Everybody feels free (as they should) to post why they are for or against the word toon. So, I feel free to say I don't get it because to me it is a trivial topic that changes nothing except to reveal some silly intolerances in some.

    But as I say - if it makes you happy call you character a toon, if it doesn't then don't. I would say don't look down on people if they do but hey its your life and if you want to be silly go right ahead. And if you want to spend your time debating the subject go right ahead............I'll feel free to throw in my 2 cents as well.

  12. I think the guide in general looks good. Every one should adjust to suit to taste of course. Here is a question for ya's though..........I play with a group of friends (depending on who we get 4 or 5 people on team) with characters (all regen scrappers with either Kat or MA or brutes depending on the group) that we run only when the group of us play. Our plan is for all of our characters to take Leadership specifically Assault and Tactics. What adjustments (if any) might you make to account for this type of configuration?

    It has been stated previously by the DEV's that contacts should let you know when a group will be necessary for a mission. If you get on a mission where it does not it is a bug and should be reported as such. It is not an attempt at force grouping just something slipping through the cracks.

    Personally I hope they make it that scraps and tanks have a hard time soloing bosses..................as it is right now I can and have taken on 3 Fake Nemesis that are 4 levels above me - and win by myself (with some rest brakes while being beat upon). Something is wrong with that.

    Main problem is that fake Nemesis are extremely gimpy and do hardly any damage. One slow attack = easy recovery. I can tank them with my defender if I put down Rad infection and enervating field and heal every once in a while.

    You'd think though between the 3 of them that are effectively 7 levels above me (21 levels combined).............that I'd at least be popping inspirations. In another case I retreated from a solo battle with the Envoy of Shadows. Did I retreat because he was kicking my [censored]. Nope - not even close, I retreated cause the battle was dull and would of taken too long to beat him (suppose I oughta go and actually do it just for the point of doing so).

    Here is the thing about solo'ing - this is an MMORPG the focus isn't soloing. It is in fact trying to get people to work together for a goal. Now then that said Cryptic didn't EQ it and left solo'ing in. However not every AT can or should be able to do it to the same degree. I would say the order for easiest solo'er to most difficult is as follows:

    Scrapper
    Blaster
    Tank
    Defender
    Controller
    (this a general order, mileage will very with powersets)

    I'm sorry (ok, actually I'm not) if your a controller and the best you can manage is a couple white minions - but that is the design of the game, has been that way since the AT design was adopted (2002 - I think). If toughing up the game makes it more interesting and fun at the sacrifice of weaker solo classes..............I say go for it. Right now I don't think it lives up to the challenge it should.

    I never, never, never said that. Many missions ARE solo-able. Many aren't. Bosses, Elite Bosses and AV's usually require help. So if you see any of those on a mission, get help!

    Ok - I've followed the development of this game since nearly day 1 way back in 2000. Statesman has been and is consistent about solo'ing. It is possible to take a character from level 1 to 50 without ever grouping, however not all content will be solo'able.

    To that effect the following has also remained consistent:

    - Not all AT's will be able to solo effectively
    - Not all mission will be solo'able
    - Task Forces will not be solo'able (although I've heard it being done they are not suppose to be)
    - Trials will not be solo'able
    - Archvillians will not be solo'able
    - Bosses are suppose to be extremely difficult if not impossible to solo
    - Lt are suppose to be difficult to solo
    - Minions are solo'able (at least supposably up to 3)
    - Purple anything are suppose to be extremely difficult to impossible to solo
    - Red's are suppose to be extremely difficult to solo
    - Orange are suppose to be very difficult to solo
    - Yellows are suppose to be difficult to solo
    - Whites are an even fight

    Depending on your AT your mileage here will very. If your a Regen Scapper you might not need to group at all if avoid certain content. If you choose to play a controller - better expect to group - as I recall in the AT description it says as much.

    Nothing that has been said so far equates to forced grouping. If anything it is trying to bring it in line with original intentions.

    Well I'm glad to hear there will at least be a little more for higher-levels - but that isn't going to keep people happy. Why no plans for Supergroups though? What is the plan for them? What is the point of Supergroup if there isn't content for them? I mean yeah my SG makes a nice place to find groupmates but that is what my friends list is for.

    Supergroups want to do things together - I seem to recall plans for this at one time.........what has happened?

    Statesman,

    Eager players want to know will there soon be more high level content..........specifically Supergroup encounters requiring 20+ players.

    The Supergroup content in this game is sorely lacking and the one SG encounter is broke - when will this be fixed?
