OH Dear, just because you didn't see me doesn't mean I wasn't there. Perhaps I was in a dark corner watching the crowd with my yellow eyes just waiting to pounce on the unsuspecting.
I wouldn't miss a White Wolf party! The fire dancer was the best part of that whole night.

The meet and greet was AWESOMESAUCE!
And those that went to the White Wolf party on Saturday saw CuppaJoe in a very new light.
Unfortuneately, that open bar thing has caused me to STILL be hung over after 24 hours.

All great ideas...How can we get numbers on how much room we'll need?
Note to MODS we have willing helpers already at ground zero.
If we can assist in any way myself and I believe Pollution are game.

Been here for 32 years now. Born and raised.
Basicly, the question is really...whatcha need? I gots j00. -
Now that's an idea...
Eagle Creek Park has a TON of space that we could use, and it's not far from downtown at all.
OR (god forbid) we could just set something up in the big blue room down the road walking distance in the park (big blue room to tech geeks = outside).
It's a lovely park, and getting an event set up there is cake. I'm talking about the one next to the Native American Museum.
Also, I rent space from IUPUI quite often, and that's walking distance, if you want to do something there, I can get space for us in that capacity. And most likely for free (I run a student union, so I get free campus space for events). It would have to be on a Saturday though, if you wanted campus space.
The best spots on campus for something like this is only about 10 min by foot from the convention center. -

Umm Gen Con has a bigger crowd. And alot more fans of the game there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Erm, yeah, but he's not going to be here in August now, is he? hence, my solution to him not being able to hit GenCon is to hit Incon, which, while ALOT smaller, and not about gaming does offer open bar room parties to those over 21. And if he goes, I promise to talk about CoX with him while we drink ourselves silly.
Oh, and I had a brainstorm. Most restaraunts have an area for groups that can be closed off for private functions. I KNOW there's a Ponderosa on 38th and Moller that has a HUGE one (like 1/2 their restaraunt), and I know the managers, PLUS, who doesn't like steak?
Oh, and it's only 10 min from the convention center via 65N. -

Dear Athy,
I met this lovely lady one evening in the Pocket D club, and we really hit it off. We chatted and danced the night away. The problem is this - she lives far away in a place called Victory City, and I live in Pinnacleburg. Can this long distance relationship survive?

I spoke with one of the scientists over at Portal Corp. It seems that we have some weird resonance thing involving our home dimension. Short trips for smacking baddies arent really a problem but if we stay in the wrong dimension too long, oh there are horrid things that happen. But theres good news! The scientists are currently working on some weird little device that can reprogram our resonance signatures! Unfortunately, its not quite ready yet. They wouldnt elaborate as to why but did promise that great strides are happening practically daily! If you and your lady friend have a relationship that can survive long distance until that resonance thingy is done, then I have every faith your relationship would survive a direct Rikti attack.

but seriously, the non smoking kills it for me, and probably about 15% of the people who would go if not more.
And the Raddison here is $35 a night, so Indy's in the lead on cost. -
Ok, east coasters, here's a question for you.
How much is a motel room today? Call, find out, post.
MOTEL, you know, dirt cheap crappy room, the kind gamers can affordThat's your base for cost of the convention.
FYI, Indy right now with the race 2 weeks away and the track being open, I found $30.00 per night. If you guys can beat that, I'll go with East coast too (even though geographicly it makes no sense). -
[ QUOTE ]
OMG! whats with all the mid-western posters-- what about- PHILLY or ALLENTOWN or NEW YORK or BOSTON!!! east coast peeps-- it's time to speak up!
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, we could do that, but then the hotel rooms cost twice as much.
Indy cheap hotel=10 min taxi ride to downtown=$5-$10: Cost: $40 per night
East Coast hotel=WHO KNOWS HOW LONG taxi ride to wherever in those 8 states you want the convention in=$10-$50: Cost: $60 per night.
Indy: CHEAP hotels, CHEAP gas prices (currently at $3.04), CHEAP space for the convention (they'll save THOUSANDS here vs anywhere else, cause that's what Indy's all about for tourism, conventions and racing), GREAT road systems (465=circle around city, 65=north/south going straight through downtown, 70=East/West highway going straight through downtown, end result? anywhere in Indy to anywhere in Indy in under 20 min), Central location in the country (30ish hour drive to NY, 48 hour drive to Califonia) Low Crime Rate, Mild Summers, Mild Winters (Summer temps in the low to mid 90s, Winter temps around 10-20) oh, and the Colts rule.
East Coast: High hotel cost, High fuel prices, good public transport, but which of the 8 states on the east coast is the con in?, high cost for convention space, crappy road system for those who drive there, High crime rate (depending on where it is, but especially DC), FAR too crowded if held in NY or similiar, 30 hour drive to Central US, 78+ hour drive to Califonia. Cold and rainy most of the year in my experience. (in the negatives in the winter, lucky to see 75 in the summer in some places, especially coastal cities).
West Coast: REALLY far away for most of the countries population, California is awesome, but it's hot as hell in the summer. VERY high fuel rate, VERY high hotel rates, meh for public transport, not as many hotels as in Indy per square mile (meaning sold out as far as an hour away for some events), higher crime rate than indy, 78+ hour drive from east coast, 48 hour drive from Central US, high food cost (I've been there, McDonalds is expensive as hell there IMO), oh, and it's where NCSoft and Cryptic is, so the devs and stuff don't get to travel (and you know that's one of the perks for this kind of thing is traveling the country to see fans). Devs not as happy if they have to drive 1-2 hours to get to the event and then, since it's so close, drive home at night only to go back the next day. No way to justify hotel room costs if you live an hour or so away.
The reason Indy works so well is that if you put a population map up on the wall, you'll see that 50% of the US lives east of Indiana/Chicago and the other 50% lives West of Indy/Chicago. You don't want to be in Chicago for something like this cause the roads suck and the hotel rooms are outrageous, food is expensive and the winters get so cold you freeze to death, the summers hit 110 for weeks straight (I lived in Chi town for 4 years, REALLY hot there in the summer, the lake does funky things to the weather). Indy had better highways, cheaper rates, costs less to fly to than other cities in the US cause it's a transportation hub, it has cheaper rates for convention events because we're used to getting 100,000 people for a weekend (Indy 500, Brickyard, Formula 1, soon to be Superbowl, PanAm Games in 88, or was that 84, Star Wars Cellebrations TWICE, Gencon, ect......) Indy is THE place to have a convention. Period.
My final arguement to prove the cost effectiveness of Indy.
I bought a pack of Camels this morning for $3.50. Chicago is about $4.50, NY is what? $5-$6.00? Same with california.
You want to know where the cost of living and travel accomidations are cheap, look at ciggarrette prices. They tell you EVERYTHING you need to know. If Camels cost $5.00 where you live, then you'll also be paying $60 for a cheap motel. If they cost $3-$4 you'll be paying $40 for the same motel.
Indy it is.
Oh, and the best reason:
Mrs. Statesman loves her mommy and daddy (who live in Indy), and we should pay for her to see them. That way, Statesman is in a good mood because Mrs. Statesman is happy. -
You guys should do it in Indianapolis, Indiana. Several reasons why.
Central location in the US. Most travel arrangements will bring you either directly to or VERY close to Indy. (plane, bus, I70, I65, ect...)
Cheaper than Chicago. For every dollar you spend in Indy you'd spend 2 or more in Chicago.
More hotel space than Chicago, and thus, cheaper rates.
More Convention areas. As a city, Indy is used to big conventions, (Star Wars Celabrations, GenCon, Indy500, HUNDREDS more...).
Indy is used to seeing an influx of people for events (see above).
Oh, and Jack's In-Laws live here, so Mrs. Statesman can see mom and dad. And when Mrs. Statesman is happy, EVERYBODY's happy.
Oh, and of course, the best reason....Cause I live there. And I'm poor and want to go, I can afford a 20 min drive.
But yeah, Indy is centrally located, it's cheap, lots of space for cons and lots of hotels. -
erm, home server (Two Choices) you may only choose one....
huh? -
I have no opinion of the build, but I thought I'd share my format for doing I9 Builds.
I did the same thing you did, except I use the long export version. That way you can see how many of which sets at a glance you have. and you can put the bonuses right underneath your final slotting.

I think it looks cleaner, and am on a personal campaign to get people to post builds like this, that way I don't have to think as much.
Nice to see I'm not the only one going insane over how these pan out btw... -
Haha, yeah with my accolades, and my +HP my HP's total to 1337.
I shall now set my badge title to PWNDZ0RD!
PH34R MY M4D M0D SK1LLZ!!! -
LOL! Ok, so with 14.3% extra HP, my new Hit points are....
1337! I'm not even kidding.
End went up to 110, so that's happy too. -
my EB/Gamestop has exactly 1 timecard in inventory at a time.
Then I go and buy it, and the manager get's another for my next visit.
They've never had more than one at a time though. -
AHH! good catch, I got the 20% regen, but not the 10% recovery!
Very nice all told though, I'm digging it, this should be a fun project for me in the next 6 months to fill out all those slots. -
Ok, I added it all up, and here's my bonuses (there's a few....)
Recovery +23% (THEN add stamina) NICE
End +5% Not bad
Regen +27.5% (Plus Health) NICE
HitPoints +14% sweet
ToHit +9.5 VERY Nice (since I debuff defense everywhere I go anyway)
Damage +3% Meh, but nice to have
Recharge +8% Sweet, AM and Hasten SHOULD almost always be up.
Heal +2.5% nice to have even though its not my bag
+Slow Powers +1.5% nice, LR should be completely maxed on slow now.
RunSpeed +2.5 not complaining
Hold Duration +2.5% Cool, helps out CC a bit
Stun Druation +3% I realized that with CB's already mega stun duration, WOW.
Defense: Psy +2.5% can't complain
Defense Energy/N.Energy +1.5% agian, not crying about it.
Resist Immob +2% with AM in the mix, nice.
Resist Fire/Cold +5% that's Hwat! or "cool" depending on viewpoint.
Resist NE +2.5% hey, I have def and resist on this one, nice (plus Dark armor)
Resist Toxic +2.5%, again, can't complain one bit about this one.
So that's the bonuses from the build, and the only real tweaking I can think of is maybe lowering the Recovery bonuses and slotting something else, but where/what I can't even begin to ponder....
I like that Recovery + End Total though, it's pretty nice.
And the Regen + HP Total don't hurt none either (since I have all the HP Accolades already)
Yeah, I think I might stick to this.
Slowly replace SOs with IOs as I go around looking for these sets. The IO slots won't hurt too much from my build now, and this gives me something to do with my 50 again. I'm thinking I'll be happy for at least 6 months trying to find all this stuff, unless the CH is kind to me.... -
HOs=Sell em for BANK
Looking for PM from Castle now...
Edit: Yeah here it is: The question was, "will acc/hold Hami-0s increase the odds to hit with Choking Cloud?"
The reply:
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, you can increase the accuracy that way. There is still a hard 50% chance value AFTER the to hit check, though.
[/ QUOTE ]
So in other words, won't help against +0 Minions, but +3 Lts or PvP.... -
[ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't you want Enzyme (end/tohit debuff/defense debuff) in Radiation Infection, not Lysosome (acc/tohit debuff/defense debuff)? RI is a toggle, not a clickie.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fixed, good catch, I clicked the wrong one.
[ QUOTE ]
as for the build, its kinda hard to give out advice on these things cuz it is catered more to the player, cuz u like recharges a lot...overall it is a decent build, not bad but not great either, it is just my opinion so don't shoot me down for it and i realize that rad buff/debuff set is gonna be pretty much 1 of the hardest things to slot so it is prolly a better build than i think
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, lots of recharges, lots of recovery. I use in a fight:
RI
EF
LR
Irradiate
CB
Neutron Bomb
Irradiate
CB
Neutron Bomb
Irradiate
CB.... ect...
I use the snipe if nothing's up, and the NB if I have to. I'm always running Choking Cloud, so the +Rec helps there. The main focus of this is to work well with that attack chain while not loosing out on my ability to contribute to a team (which, I'm awesome at. :P) I'm pretty valued on any team I join with Pollution, so I definately don't want to loose that, his solo ability is stellar as well, so again, don't want to sacrifice that. Hence the playstyle/build plan.

Hm. I know you're going for set bonuses here, but I think you might have problems with endurance. Choking Cloud is one of the end-hog level powers; I regularly slot it with 3 endredux.
Also, the damage and accuracy aspects are wasted, since CG uses neither.
I would seriously consider whether the set bonuses you're going for are worth the loss in end and hold. Are there other ways to slot GWE and NS to get the same effect, but trading acc/dmg for end/hold?
At the same time, slotting for dmg procs is kinda neat. YMMV.
- Protea
[/ QUOTE ]
My thought was that since Choking Cloud is so funky as a hold power (yet so very usefull) i wouldn't worry about the exact slotting of it and go with the bonuses. With this slotting, I've got the useable bonuses of Recharge 21.75%, Endredux 48.94% and Hold 54.38%. This means that the power costs 1/2 as much to run (a bit still) and the holds last a bit longer (from 4 to 6 seconds). I could throw an extra EndRedux IO in there, but the actual gain isn't that great, I'm running it with 2 SO EndRedux's now, and It's not that big a deal (3 SO Stamina + 3 EndMod AM). The hold times on the power are currently about 8 seconds, so while I loose some there, I have a global Hold buff going on, plus more end (2.5 more end...wheeeee?).
So my thinking on that was get the globals and loose some minor effectiveness, but make up for it (in general) with the globals I have going now, and the extra hold globals I have.
This is the only power I have slotted on the Test server that looks like this now, and it's more than manageable, and still very effective.
And yeah, I thought the extra damage was a good idea. I gots my own version of an aura damage attack now....kinda....a bit...well, not really, but it's niffty, I like how it works out on test.
Oh, and the acc isn't exactly wasted. It has a max ToHit Chance of 50%, which is also it's base. But go against a +3 LT, and it is less. The Acc actually makes up for that somewhat (Re CASTLE when I asked him about Acc/Hold HOs in CC). It's not exactly a better chance of hitting PER SE, but it will help you to hit stuff higher than you, or higher ranked.
