Coyote Travel Power on the Market Today

Tempted to get it, but I don't think they ever increased the speed to make it match ninja/beast run + sprint, making it inferior to those 2 powers since you can't use sprint with the coyote power. Which probably means I won't bother. Bummer. Cool concept, at least. (If I'm wrong on this, please let me know.)

So I have the cyote travel power on the beta server. Over there with ninja/beast run my values on a 50 with no movement speed improvements from IOs or temp powers are:

Run speed: 53.69 mph
Jump speed: 51.75 mph
Jump height: 38.87 ft
With the cyote travel power it's:
Run speed: 60.92 mph (+325.50% run speed)
Jump speed: 56.03 mph (+291.33% jump speed)
Jump height: 40.7 ft (+917.40% jump height)
Assuming those numbers hold true on to live then it's not a terrible power. On the other hand it does toggle off everything so there's that downside.

Yeah, but the thing is, you can't even use Sprint with the coyote power, so the speed difference becomes much more noticeable. I can understand not letting it be used with most powers, but it'd be nice if they could do a 'disable all powers besides sprint (and the prestige sprints too maybe) or somehow make the coyote power be able to at least come with 1 slot to put a run speed enhancement in there. Otherwise, you're trading speed for style.

EDIT: Anyone have the stats for what Sprint gives you? That's the key here. Not to mention, you can add slots to sprint to increase that run speed.

You're not really trading all that much speed for the style though. All things considered. Anyway. Sprint's stats:
+50% runspeed
+50% runspeed (ignores buffs and enhancements)
+10% jump height

I think Coyote is too small.

The movement stats for Ninja/Beast Run + Sprint with a Run SO + Swift with a Run SO is nearly identical to Coyote Travel. Purposely so.

But then again, Coyote toggles everything off making it inferior. That's something they had to do because of the lack of animations for the coyote. But they didn't add in anything to offset that, such as our plea to add Stealth to the power.

But then again, you're a coyote.

Good power for a warshade then. It's just like any of their other forms.

If they could have gone with suppression instead of toggle off it would have split the difference and made it great power.

I bought it any way. Wish it was a wolf though. :/

My newish Native American blaster would thematically find this power handy, but not sure if I can justify 600 points for just one of my characters.

Considering I'm taking another break from CoH, I'll probably pass in it for a while.

This.

I find it annoying that ninja run and beast run are better than sprint. It changes what should be a thematic power for fun and turns it into a better than situation. Do I have my robot run like a ninja or beast, or do I use sprint for thematics and run slower?

thematic stuff should be for appearance only.

From what I heard this power is a real dog. Beware of Dog.

Right now it's just a neat looking but inferior beast run. I'm not going to detoggle myself to travel just to get the same move speed I can already get. Without paying an extra 600 points. I notice the feedback thread is gone. So I'll just leave it here: I'm not buying this unless it gets a buff of some kind. Stealth was the most popular suggestion in testing.

And this is the reason I won't be buying it. It's also kind of pricey. Too bad, because the concept is pretty cool.

It is a cool power, but I'll skip it. It does not fit any of my character concepts. I already have Rocket Board for vanity toggle-disabling travel, I do not need another one.

I am rather surprised at how little I have purchased off of the market to-date. That isn't negatively directed at the studio, as they continue to put out very cool stuff. I just find myself asking, "Do I need it?" every Tuesday. And most often, the answer is no.

That said, I am a sucker for sales. I bought Beam Rifle while it was on sale (though, I wanted it to begin with), and I bought the Barbarian set a couple weeks ago when it went on sale. If there is a way to get me to buy something I am on the fence about "needing," it is to put it on sale.

So if the Circle of Thorns set, Steampunk set, and Street Justice were to go on sale, my stockpile of points would disappear rapidly. Just saying...

Yeah, I think a lot of this has to do with their weekly additions to the store and the slightly high prices... plus a bit of reasonable pragmatism.
Not that there is anything wrong with any of this. I just think it is pretty natural.
With the prices being what they are (such as $7.50 for these toggle-dropping travel powers) and the frequent additions (which again... is certainly not BAD, haha!), it's tougher to jump at every new thing, as opposed to sitting and waiting to see what comes out and what goes on sale and how it'll play out down the road, as opposed to right now.

Which, I think is fine, so long as the company doesn't foolishly look at the market as a right now or bust system.
They shouldn't base an item's success on the first week it goes on sale, as all of these items (except the time-limited ones) are there to be bought at any point down the road. There's no shelf cost for them, so they should be relaxed with their situation. Let the inventory build and things will be gobbled up now and down the road.

However, a lot of cautious waiting and seeing is to be expected, I think.

Or maybe I should have just said... Yeah, I know what you mean!
If I don't have a use for it right now, then I'll wait. It doesn't mean I won't grab it eventually... but I don't need to jump at it.
What troubles me is if they decide to go with time-limited items more often than not. It's sort of a blatant attempt at getting people to buy it now (or ELSE!) as opposed to letting things play out.
I think sales are a better avenue for them, but only if they'd be happy with those price points, of course.

Blah blah blah...
Regardless... The Coyote Power gets my seal of approval!

I'll get it but since they didn't slow the idle animations down as requested, give it a boost like Stealth, etc. I'll be waiting until it goes on sale. It only fits a couple concepts I have so it can wait. I do hope they have other shapeshifting travel powers (swarm of bats anyone?) but I'd like them to be a bit more original in how they handle the pros and cons of each of those unique travel forms.
