joined a team with a stalker and 2 scrappers - they were martial arts, katana, and maybe dual blades (so hard to see what a stalker is doing).

it really just felt like a pulp adventure. Guns, swords. Bad guys in uniforms, us in golden age style masked adventurer outfits

if I could play the same game as I do today (assuming a character wipe) I would do so

I don't need content updates or game updates (although i24 would be nice)

The concept is huge, the actual show is very small.

It is just tedious to watch. And Charlie is lame.

I've been spoiled by Invuln that gets the to hit buffs. The ghosts just don't matter much

if I can't hit I can't heal or get my endurance back

and whatever damage they do seems to go right through my fire shields

swarms of archers and guardians - no problem
a small spawn of ghosts and I get ripped apart

my sonic/dark defender can become invisible. Doing RWZ missions and it is so easy to find the 4 bombs by flying around at ground level. Stupid drones still see me.

With these missions I find the stealthing makes total sense. I can't defeat all of the rikti - they need my hero to do these surgical missions to further the war effort. I don't feel bad leaving rikti behind for vanguard to clean up.

now instead of a brute I'm thinking of going stalker

I'm thinking of making a brute to try them out. And I have enough points to buy either staff or street justice

which would be better?

Not all electric characters are created equal, of course. But most can sap if built properly. And sapping is incredibly effective once you can do it.

After years of playing other controls, I found electric control to be simply amazing. I didn't even pair it with electric, I have mental for drain psyche - but I sap most of the time with just the electric.

I don't know that the sapping is more effective than ice's confusing fog, but sapping gives you electricity. The biggest annoyance in the game is clockwork, freaks, and others sapping you - but you can be virtually immune to it and do it to them. Even my electric tanker who doesn't really sap loves being immune to others doing it to him.

So why aren't you playing an electric?

I would be thrilled if they:

1. kept the servers running
2. released i24 patch
3. fixed critical bugs that came up

I realized that there are 2 months left.

Very few games do people play for 2 months.

If I said you were going to watch MASH for 2 hours a night every night for the next 2 months you probably would feel that was too much MASH.

Enjoy it while you can. There is a lot of time left for fun.

logged on. Only 20 minutes to play. I just grabbed a radio mission. A boring tanker x3/+0.

And it was fun

wading through foes. smashing them down, watching them zap me and get back up

this game is still fun even at its most basic

nice to have a goal. I've only logged in once since the announcement - the in-game chat was too depressing.

I do want to have a fun end to CoH - I'm glad you are finding one for you

I can't tell if mine actually sent.

One thing I put in was that I would be happy to continue paying $15 a month to have the game just continue to run as is - no new development, no bug fixes - just keep it running.

omg, I couldn't believe it when I saw the thread title. I also found out this week my job ends at the end of the year. This is not good.

But I have to say I have loved this game. I feel terrible that it is going away but I do want to shout out to all of the devs how great it has been.
