it is still fun

Agreed. Logged in to blow off some steam tonight. First time I was in the mood to actually play the game since the big news dropped.
I enjoyed it. Also didn't give in to my usual completionist tendencies in this game. Just played. Badges and inventions and market stuff be damned. Just the old school game (+ having some IO partial sets slotted), like it was in the first few years.
At it's core it is still just a fun simple game.
You said it, dug.
I got my latest 50 two days before the bomb dropped. I chose to run him solo through the Dark Astoria arcs, since I had yet to touch them. I was running them at -1, purely for the story aspect and, as you say, it was still fun. Then I hopped on a pick-up Keyes Island incarnate trial and aside from grossly missing our badge goal, it too was still fun.
For me, that f-word is all the next 3 months are about.
@Winter. Because I'm Winter. Period.
I am a blaster first, and an alt-oholic second.
From running mission arcs,
To saving the city in Safeguard missions,
To blowing up the city in Mayhem missions,
To messing around in AE's mission builder,
To playing other people's story-based missions,
To horsing around with friends by sliding around on the ice pillars in Frostfire's lair,
To watching them shout Circle of Thorns mages off of rooftops in Kings Row,
To using POPMENU and macros to come up with multiple unique ways to taunt enemies with my SS/Stone Tanker,
This game NEVER got old to me.
logged on. Only 20 minutes to play. I just grabbed a radio mission. A boring tanker x3/+0.
And it was fun
wading through foes. smashing them down, watching them zap me and get back up
this game is still fun even at its most basic
