Sigh, it really sucks having no where to go. Champions online was boring. I played that for like 2 weeks and was bored outta my mind. DCUO was one of those 'get to top level and raid over and over and get leet gear' and I hate that kind of setup. And now I just looked at the thing Marvel is releasing and it looks godawful. Basically Marvel Alliance in MMO form. Why is CoH the only game to get it right? And why is it being shut down while the others stick around (well, minus the Marvel one, which hasn't come out yet)? I hope Matt can round up at least some of the Paragon City devs and kickstart another super hero MMO. Nothing else compares to what they have done. About a month left and I'm gonna have no where to go.
Right now, I should be playing my Bio Armor/Dark Melee tank, not be in a state of mourning...

I'm poor as dirt right now and I still would have at least given $5. Next time we do something for this awesome studio, leave the donating open a little longer lol. Or maybe tell us in advance when you are going to set something up. These guys need to know how much we appreciate them, no matter how 'passionate' we got at times.
-
With this set up, it'd be nice if you could create NPC allies to aid you when you were playing by yourself. Just like creating your own character, with a costume, powersets, etc. They'd also level whenever you did and you could select which powers they took. Not everyone plays an IOed out Brute that can solo EBs and AVs and if you wanted to play 1-50 solo just with NPC allies, you could do so.

Aw, did no one take a shot of AP1? I was there on Sapphire Rain.
-
Hell, if I had known this, I would have made rounds to stand in front of every advertisement I could for as long as needed to get you guys more money.
-
Ooh, the CoH Facebook page just posted that Massively will be streaming this. We ALL have to show for this now!

I sincerely hope NCSoft goes bankrupt, along with every single person that was in charge of this decision. I hope to see them all living on the streets, begging for money, the ultimate irony. A bit much? Maybe. But they have all my rage and scorn right now. Every last one of their board members can burn in hell.
-
I think what sucks the most is that both (inn my eyes) CO and DCUO absolutely suck, but they get to keep chugging while CoH gets axed. NCSoft is run by a bunch of morons. I just don't understand why they wouldn't try to sell it. I'm sure they could have found a buyer. Anything would have been better than a sudden end like this. I25 woulda have been a good epic end to it all too, make the fight against The Battalion the last fight. Go out in a blaze of glory, you know, not in a blaze of nerdrage.

Quote:That worked.That stinks.
If you can log into the game, try accessing your account through there (I think through the Market window, you can click on My Account or something and that should get you in). Hopefully that'll work and you can enter the code.Odd thing? It took the random second password it emailed me, but I still can't use that temp password to get into my account via Firefox or Chrome. Something is really borked there.
-
What a horrible time for me not to be able to get into my NCSoft master account. I tried every password I could possibly use. Nada. Reset my password, use temporary password it emails me. Nada. Try it again. Nada. Try a different browser. Nada. Send in a support ticket. 3 hours later, still no response. So, I'm going to miss out on a Dark Matter code because NCSoft's account management is currently borked for me. Just freaking awesome...
P.S. You couldn't possibly PM me a code that I could use once their account management is working again, could you? >_> -
Good news. A company that works on the same floor as mine that do a lot of hardware work are going to take a look at my power supply and motherboard and try to fix it so I can avoid the hassle of trying to transfer all the working stuff to a new rig. We'll see how it goes.
-
Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I was ignorant when I bought this thing, never thought it'd be this much of a hassle if something went wrong with it.

Yeah, when I think of Scythe Melee, Soul Eater is the first thing I think of. Lots of spinning with stylish slashes in between the spins. And honestly, they could probably import at least some of the animations from Titan Weapons and possibly Staff Fighting to save on some animation time.
It is an exciting time. After Bio Armor and Psy Melee, I have no idea whats coming besides Radiation Armor. I hope Scythe Melee will be considered some time. -
I know this isn't directly related to CoH, but I got this better computer so I could play CoH at near max settings and something wonky is happening with it. I am a complete moron when it comes to hardware issues, so I'm kind of lost on what to do.
Basically, within the past week my computer wouldn't turn on when I I hit the power button. I'd hit the button and only hear a click, but it didn't start up. Changed outlets, and it would all of a sudden work.
Then, yesterday, it wouldn't start no matter what I did. I popped it open and I noticed on the motherboard, The 'Standby Power' light was on, and when I hit the power button, the 'Mem(ory?) Power light would come on, but not the Main Power light. I take it to Best Buy (yeah, I know, I was desperate.) and they can't even swap out the power supply for theirs to see if it is the power supply for sure because they say it's a proprietary power supply and has some custom pin connection. I call Alienware/Dell and they say that they no longer make that part and all they can do for me is give me the full name of it try to find another one on ebay or such. Haven't had any luck finding this exact one so far. Money isn't an issue if I could just buy another one, but if this super specific power supply is the only one that will work on this computer, I'm at a loss of what I can do.
Today, I try randomly to see if it'll turn on and it did! I'm almost afraid to turn this thing off again for fear it won't turn on again. I usually only put it into hibernate mode instead of turning it off completely. Is that good/bad to do? Any ideas, musings, advice? Computer is Area 51-R6 and the power supply is 'ALIENWARE 1 KILOWATT 1000W POWER SUPPLY OEM ATX PSU'.
Here's the rest of the specs of this computer if you need them:

If this kind of inquiry isn't allowed at all, can someone at least maybe PM me a link to a decent hardware issues forum where I may obtain help? Or perhaps a power supply that would work with my rig despite this custom pin connection issue? Anyways, if you need more info than what I have given, please let me know. I will be watching this thread closely. Thank you in advance. -
No, that means that by the time it finally comes out, I'll not be as excited about it because I've been playing the set on beta so much for free. Already up to level 40 the manual way. It should be on beta long enough to fix bugs/balance issues and whet my appetite and then put on live. 4 months to wait for the release, it's already old news to me.
-
Yes, but this is going to be 6 weeks from Water Blast's release. Another 6 weeks would be October 2nd. So, we're still talking late September at the earliest. I'm mostly irritated because I LOVE Bio Armor and am upset I have to wait so long for it when it's ready to go now. I don't have much interest in Nature Affinity, not much wiggle room on what the powers represent (like Water Blast which can be water, blood, oil, acid, etc.) . You control nature and there's no alternative interpretation there. And hey, whiny or not, I am allowed to express my opinion. At least I acknowledge how I sound.
-
Sigh, so this is probably gonna push Bio Armor back into the beginning of October. Ugh. Was put into beta at the beginning of June. 4 months in beta. This is Staff Fighting all over again. Or maybe I'm wrong and they won't wait a full month to 6 weeks to release another powerset. But this is Paragon Marketing and I still don't understand their strategy, if they even have one, so it looks like it's going to be a long wait. I hate to sound whiny, but the constant irritation of these release schedules just get to me. Last powerset was June 10th and last costume set was even farther back. Wish they'd just throw all the IO sets on the market instead of counting them towards 'new stuff'. I'm honestly getting sick of all these points accumulating that I have nothing I want to spend them all on. Shouldn't the point be to exhaust me of my free points so I have to spend real money on top of my subscription fee if I want stuff right when it comes out?
-
I was just thinking, not counting the free VIP ones coming in I24, this means they're going to be releasing 2 defense sets back to back if Radiation Armor is the next set to come out after these 2. Think it would have been better to space them out with Nature Affinity in between them. But I guess marketing 'knows what they're doing'...
-
Yeah, Bio Armor should have definitely come first. Wasn't the last new defense set SHIELDS? Hate to whine, I'm just depressed we have to wait til like mid September for Bio Armor now...
-
Blech, bad day for me. Nothing in the market, and they decided to release Nature Affinity before Bio Armor, so another month til a powerset I want to play. I think a defense set should have taken priority over a support set. Gone a LONG time without a defense set. Yeah, whine, whine, still sucks for me though. I was at least hoping for Cybertech this week. *mopes out of topic*
-
Wow, I think this is a first. A red name posted in a topic I created. Pretty cool.
-
We've really been getting a crapload of powersets lately, with even more on the horizon. Bio Armor, Radiation Armor (hopefully with Radiation melee), Nature Affinity and I bet the ones that were brought up at the last player summit we're noted down for possible sets in the future (Throwing Weapons, I'm looking at you!). I figured it'd be fun to see if there's any blatantly obvious stuff we're still missing.
The one that comes to mind for me is some kind of hard light construct set. I dunno if DC has a trademark on the concept, but I thought it would make for a great Dominator primary and secondary set. Primary for the controls, obviously, with chains made of light for the immobilizes, light boxes for the holds, etc. The concept is also easy to think of powers for an assault set, light swords, big sweeping hand for a cone attack, etc. But, I guess it all depends on if 'light constructs' are free reign or not.
I'd also love to see a Metal Armor set, though I'm unsure how to make 9 powers out of it. It'd probably be similar to Stone Armor in concept, though I don't know if I'd be a big fan of another set with exclusive armors.
Anyways, anything you guys can think of that we're missing? -
Yeah, was gonna say, I think this buffs Cors and Defs more than Blasters. Always felt uneasy about using a crashing nuke when I had buffing/debuffing/healing responsibilities lol.
-
Ha, I think if you nerfed Hasten, the forums would EXPLODE.
-
Yay, get Issue 23 out of the way so I can look forward to I24 and the new powersets coming. I23 doesn't interest me one bit. Trials/Incarnate stuff bore me, and a zone that will be a ghost town after a couple weeks isn't anything to be that excited about either. Think that's basically all this issue was, right?
