That is NOT all.
1- The crash is being removed.
2- The base end cost is being normalized at 27 End.
3- The recharge is being reduced and normalized at about 2m25s.
4- The damage is being reduced by a VERY small amount. However, you can use the power far more often, AND any "Chance of damage" ticks in the nuke are being removed, and added to the base damage.

Blizzard is going to own so hard. Super excited about Issue 24. The Bonfire change was a very, very, very good compromise.

when the missus and I currently play my ill/kin controller and her fire/fire blaster, we can usually:
- have something from illusion grab the alpha strike.
- run into to the middle of a +4/x8 mob
- hit fulcrum shift
- hit fireball, fire sword circle.
- watch almost everyone die
- pick off stragglers
- repeat.
now we can add the nuke to that mix?
... is there any word on increasing the difficulty slider?
Now BFR just needs to do scale 3.56 damage and Ice Blast will be competitive again. >.<
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

Wow! Great change across the board. This is very awesome, and makes the old nukes far better than many of the current crashless nukes IMO. The old crashing nukes also have potent mez and insanely powerful debuffs attached to them.
Hail of Bullets in particular really looks bad under this proposal-- less damage than the old nukes even when using Incendiary Ammo, anemic and useless debuffs with Cryo and Toxic, and only recharges 25 seconds faster. Hopefully HoB is looked at in comparison to other PBAoE nukes post change.
I keep thinking about Blizzard on an 85 second cast cycle with no crash...
Nuke + Burnout + Nuke = yay!

Fortunately Sleet's and Blizzard's KB is only 0.1 so when they're both double-stacked it still won't add up to enough to send things out of the patch, and double Heat Loss means you don't even notice that your end bar was cut in half.

Blasters gettin' boofed every which way. Happy days ahead for Blasters! Defenders can sue their 'expanding marshmellows' more often now too! yay!

Yeah, was gonna say, I think this buffs Cors and Defs more than Blasters. Always felt uneasy about using a crashing nuke when I had buffing/debuffing/healing responsibilities lol.

Even if it boosts -others-, it's still helping to take Blasters out of the bottom of the barrel. They're probably still at the bottom, but it's not as -deep- down now.

any bonus to bad powers in blast sets helps defenders and corruptors more because they have fewer attacks. So having more good ones to choose from helps them more.
blasters just have too many attacks. Making some better simply means they will skip others. It does raise their power level, but it does not solve the basic problem.
the way to help blasters would be to make their attacks very situational but amazing in that situation.
I think these changes are good for blasters - but as noted they simply raise the floor, they do not give blasters a niche.
Yeah, I definitely think this is a plus....it's some of the things I've been asking for.
Along with better secondaries.....that are actually, ya know, useful :P
However, I think we're running into the old issue that we need more enhancer slots. I've heard they tried to give us more slots.....and it broke the game. Same with messing with bases.....breaks the game.
I ain't one dem dere pro'gammers.....but I think they need to totally redo some basic aspects of the game (like leveling, power choices, and enhancers....and bases) to address major problems in the game.
I dunno. It's asking a lot, but I think i'd totally be fine if they halted the storyline and new zones or redone zones for an issue and totally did just "fix everything." LOL.
