Coyote Travel Power on the Market Today

The idle animations are WAY too fast, just like they are for the german shephard pet. Also, the run animation is far too fast as well... All you see is a blur.

They need to look again at these "travel powers"... Considering their price, they are WAY to inconvenient to be worth the money. Maybe if they didn't detoggle and suppress everything.

Anyway, meh. If it had been a tiger or other feline (preferably a tiger!), I'd have paid in a second.

After seeing the video, I'd like to get it, but I don't have any characters that would use it.

I suppose I could come up with a concept for it. Hm.

Well, it can wait. Concept first, then power.

I was just making the point that a person with a Warshade that has at least one other form doesn't really care too much about being de-toggled. It's going to happen any.

Also a good power for a warshade (or peace bringer) because it's yet another form to shape shift into.

Many characters that aren't Tanks, Scrappers, Stalkers, Brutes, or VEATs are potentially non-dependent upon toggles.

Still, the Coyote power is inferior to Beast/Ninja Run if it merely offers similar speed (accounting for Sprint and Fitness) and no other utility whilst disabling all other powers. Were it to put one at Super Speed/Jump level of ability without any other utility whilst disabling all other powers I might consider it somewhat worthwhile. Perhaps when Beast Mastery comes out I'll find a reason to buy it.

One thing I don't really get is, well... Why a coyote!? With all the wolf based costume parts in the game, it seems only sensible to me to do a wolf travel power, to give the werewolf characters in the game that full on final transformation vibe...

Maybe they're going to do a Shapeshift power pool which allows you to shift into a slottable wolf travel power and purchase an attack or two and perhaps a toggle to use while in wolf form. Wishful thinking, I know.

The irony of course is that when this power was first introduced on the beta server some weeks ago the first criticisms against it were that it was way too slow compared to the other travel powers. People were claiming that it was not fast enough and did not let you jump high enough. Based on that the Devs made a quick fix to speed it up. Unfortunately it seems the quick fix sped everything up about it - not only its movement speed but its idle animations as well. The idle animations were actually reasonable for a coyote -before- the speed fix.

I guess it's true what they say that they'll never be able to please everyone when it comes to things like this. *shrugs*

I'm assuming they chose a Coyote form for this so that it would not be easy to confuse player characters with the wolves that are going to be offered not only as vanity pets but as Beastmaster MM henchmen. *shrugs*

If you're going to quote me, please do it in context. I wasn't referring to the speed of the run or the animations associated with it. I was talking about the IDLE animations as I stated. The constant getting up and down, scratching, etc.

The speed is what it is. It's a boost. It looks a bit silly but what can you do. I was more for the Stealth bonus to make it unique, not necessarily a speed increase. My MAIN concern is that it just looks a bit silly spazzing out every few seconds.

But, I'll get it, when it goes on sale. If it had the other things that I brought up in the feedback thread at the time then I'd have gotten it today. *shrugs*

No thanks.

Come back when you make a Cheetah travel power or somesuch

For those asking for lions and tigers and manbearpigs...oh my...

This is just our first foray into the animal-ish travel powers. There's plenty of fertile ground for us to draw material from. Based on the success of the Coyote Travel power, it's fairly likely you'll see other incarnations.

If you make an eagle travel power . . . . . . i'ld . . . . be very happy!

That being said i love this power too, running around as a dog! Also you aint seen nothing until you seen a coyote thats been speed boosted!

Well, I was sceptical...

But I had points spare from a mass buy when the points first came out. And I had a decent concept. And I *gasp* actually rolled a Controller (Earth/Sonics, Deserts Howl)

So now there is a hyper-active texan mutant who keeps shifting from a coyote to human and back again running around. Being fun. This is fun

Edit: I do agree the idle animations are WAY too fast, and not being able to make him /e sit or /e liedown etc is rather annoying. But oh well.

I find this power to be utterly useless, and a waste of money/points. I tried it out on the Test Server and was not impressed. Frankly I'm getting tired of these useless travel powers, the hover board was a cool concept, the magic carpet was really pushing it, and this...this is just...I don't even, this is nothing more than an RPer's power, like the walk power, hover board and magic carpet, they all have no functionality at all, other than, "Hey guys look what I have!". Really I think the devs need to work on other more important stuff than this. Also really, 600 points for this crap? Do not want.

If you do something to make it slightly more desirable it may be more successful. Right now it's spending 600 points for a Ninja Run that detoggles you. There's no good reason to take it other than aesthetics. I recommend stealth at least.

I know you aren't the powers team but maybe you could pass it on.

Well wow, guess what? Newsflash but, in an MMORPG some people, shock horror, like to RP!

So, you know what? You don't like it? Don't flipping buy it. It's not rocket science. And they already had the four legged rig from the various wolf projects, so its not like it'd take ages and ages of Dev time and resources (comparatively), and certainly not enough to make much else.

Yeah, the frantic nature of the idling, along with the wild running and jumping, makes me suspect this coyote has been buying his Scooby Snacks from a dude on the corner.

I think if your superhero chooses to be less useful and more vulnerable it's probably not a RP choice unless you're playing Charlie the Super Masochist.
