Let see For your teammate I would go with some sort of controller.

Maybe fire/something the opposites attract sort of thing. But more control around a blaster is always good and buffs and rebuffs of the secondary can make a strong character in there own right and if you go with the level pact you will always be able to team.

Well I like every thing but the loss of travel powers thing. The travel in the Shards is one of the reasons very few seem to go there and the same might happen here esp if you don't get the power back till you do a task force (I don't have that kind of time for the most part) seems like most 5 are 6 to 8 hrs +.

But I love the rest of the Idea .
