  2. That's an easy question (in the OP, that is)...
I see no purpose in it, don't understand why it is supposed to be fun, and would prefer that it's existence had never even entered the periphery of my awareness.

You are fixating on the wrong thing. Zombie said that pigg diving revealed a much anticipated set to the community that it had no idea existed and that somehow lowered desire for the set.

Looking at that statement, "pigg diving" is not the part you should be picking on.

No, I'm implying that there's been less than 550 points a month of good stuff.

Well, part of it is the moronic prices. I'd rather let the points rot than spend $10 on a minor improvement for 1 character.

Previously, we'd get a good bonus power every 3-6 months, now we get a minor reskin on something we already have or a new ability that is effectively worthless since it detoggles everything. I've bought about half the costume pieces and that's not even vaguely keeping up with the monthly bonus points.

They'll need at least 550 points a month of it just to balance out.
  7. I plopped down $100 to get the best ratio on money-to-points in anticipation of having tons of things to spend it on. The surplus I'm still sitting on shows that this was a mistake.

    Hrm.
I'd guess because the travel power has direct competition in the form of ninja/beast run which are superior.
  9. The dagger is nice. The jetpack is nice in theory, but I've still never used the full 2 hours of the bank mission one, so I've never bothered to make one. And the end recovery is nice depending on build.
  10. I find the newer powersets seem to be excuses to try out new gimmicks, because there isn't much new ground to cover mechanically that hasn't already been done. And since I find the new mechanics more than a bit tiresome, I'd prefer to see the new animations linked to an older set with less annoying (more straightforward) mechanics.

Honestly, outside of the market, I've never even seen one of those, so I kinda forgot they were there.
  12. It might be worth playing if you actually needed to push buttons or be awake or in the room for the giant shivan fight.

Which A. lessens the ability to get set bonuses and B. isn't available until 47.

It's just another example of how they half-***** it with the set. They cared more about the gimmick of switching ammo than about making the gimmick be worthwhile and useful.

10 slots of you only play on a single server. Many more if you play on multiple servers.

Elec Control, dark control, demons, several other sets.

I think some costume sets, but can't be sure.

You could purchase all those things, but it is a non-trivial amount - especially if you have characters on multiple servers.

On what planet could that possibly be true? There are more players who don't have 50s than players who do, even among the players with 50s, there are vastly more characters who have been through 10-20 than have hit 50 (big duh on that one), and not all 50s take part in the incarnate trials.

That last part is especially annoying. It really does defeat the whole "taking the fight to the enemy" aspect when doing so cuts you off from enforcing your alignment.

    Things I think are fine
    • Suppressive Fire
Suppressive Fire has the same problem with wasted slots, depending on whether you have lethal ammo (disorient) vs all other types (hold). It sucks to have versatility be one of the main selling points of the set, but have the way slotting works push you into deciding upfront how you plan on using the powers.

Wouldn't that be better marketing? I bet that sure would sell a heck of a lot of Super Packs, if they made it rare enough.
I'd buy a plane ticket just for the fun of spitting on the devs and then write the company off as one of those businesses I would never buy anything from again.

It's not a nit pick. It's the whole damn point. Nothing we get in this game is "free". Everything they offer is part of the product we are paying for.

If that were true, it might be enough, but it's just not true. A Vigilante can't just jump villain side and do missions. You need a team leader who is villain or rogue taking missions for you to make that possible. All you can do by jumping sides is radio/paper and then acting is a passenger in someone else's missions.

You can jump sides doing whatever you want as long as "whatever" only includes standing on a streetcorner looking confused.

In terms of what people pay for that tends to not be the case. Really, it's about the difference between a game you purchase once and a game you subscribe to. The MM part is mostly incidental.

    Yea, this.

I would pay for packages of optional customizations (much like costume pieces), but not for the basic tech.
  25. I feel like I missed something that was discussed elsewhere, because I don't really understand the question. I mean, currently, you can increase number of foes, increase level of foes, and scale down/include AVs/Bosses.

What kind of challenge do we want to make that isn't included in one of those options?
