So how much have you spent. . .

Reading through the wishlist/April Fool's list got me to thinking about how many points I have spent on the market this past year. Now let me preface this with I have really only 3 or 4 hobbies: CoH, reading, running, and playing tennis. My wife has even fewer which revolve around yoga, the tv, and tennis (wont even tell you the panic attack she had when she woke up yesterday and her tv wasnt working)!

Anyways, here is the bad news, in total, since Freedom went live I have spent nearly $650 in total between 2 VIP accounts. Not quite as bad as the emergency television purchase yesterday or the amount I spent on work related items in the last year but was just curious if there were more of you out there like me?

Other than my subscription, I've spent $15 on my VIP account (for the 2 tokens to complete the Celestial Set sooner) and $15 on my Premium account (for the global channel access).

Not counting subscription (and pre-freedom character slots)? Zero. And I've gotten multiple new powersets, various costume items, and not sure what else!

I still need to buy something from the market so I get that 1 reward token for spending any money there... one day!

I've spent about $45, not including my monthly subscription.

Last time someone made a thread like this they got shouted down by people who didn't like drawing attention to such things.

Just saying.

I think $15 plus VIP for an account

I wanted the points to get the halloween costume pack before it was gone, and I bought beast run and the animal pack as well

I understand the sentiments and not sure I remember that thread but I can see your point. Honestly, like I said in the last year that is what I spent and this is one of my few hobbies (wont confess what I spent on tennis rackets or books in the last year).

I am lucky that I am able to do such things at this point in my life. Working 70 hour + weeks has helped but I was just curious. I know some of you have been around longer then me (6 years here) but I was just curious how you saw the market. And if you have found it worthwhile, personally, I will say I am happy with the game in its current state. I still have oodles of points laying around since I tend to buy only the procs on market but with 2 accounts if something comes out I want, i am fortunate enough to be able to afford it. . .

I really don't know! Enough to have had over 20 Paragon Reward Tokens! But I never kept tracked.

Enough to help bring out new power sets I hope!

not much, compared to some of the early posters who were dropping 200 when the market was first announced. probably about 50 bucks all told. and thats for every powerset outside of beast (im not a big mm guy, ill get it on the next monthly point stipend) Every costume set period, including the pilgrim hat, and the coyote and flying carpet power, as well as 4 global costume slots when they were on sale. and absolutely nothing on gamble packs, nor any vet tokens.

as for how i see the market. we got more costume sets in the same time frame than we have at any point that i remember in coh's history, outside of launch and cov. we also got 6 new powersets with another one on the cusp. 2 of them were free with sub, compared to the past, thats a fast turn around. you get what you pay for in life.

Probably over $100 on points. Still have only spent about half of them >_>

don't drink and browse the market folks

Gosh, I don't actually know! I'm going to guess somewhere in the neighborhood of $250, for game time, the Street Justice and Beam Rifle sets, and various costume parts including all of the Super Boosters back when they were Super Boosters.

Aside from my subscription (discounted due to annual sub pricing), $0 on my VIP account.

On my Premium account, $0.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Last November I got really sick and never got well. Found out I have cancer, and now this is pretty much my only hobby, this and reading any way. Before I would drop spare cash on Kickboxing equipment, or other training devices.

Well, now my spare cash goes into CoX. So I would say since Freedom went live around $400 or so not including my yearly sub cost.

Note: Super packs put a HUGE dent in my stock pile of points. So I would say they were a good idea on Paragon's part. When the next round of super packs hit I hope to drop another $100 on those also.

I had hoped to splurge my tax refund on Paragon Points but Real Life intervened

Not one dime spent beyond the sub fee on 2 MMOs. Any left over money is spent on my grand kids.

Hmmm well two accounts and I get all the costumes and most powersets, so I would say an extra $80 total, perhaps $100. I haven't purchased any points in a while though now that I have all the Elemental pieces and Staff Fighting has not released, and likely will not until a new powerset or costume suite knocks me out of the water.

Glad to see those people aren't posting here, as they would be ridiculed as being absolutely ridiculous for telling people how to spend their money.

The danger isn't "telling people how to spend their money." It is more that publicizing these numbers gives a skewed view of how much/little money is being spent on the market, and could possibly lead to incorrect assumptions about how the Market has helped the studio.

I have not spent anything more than my subscription. Half of that is because I do not have much extra cash to devote to a digital (intangible) pastime, but the other half is that I tend not buy something unless I will use it, and I haven't had use for a whole lot since Freedom launched. Part of me wishes I did so that I could support the game more, but unfortunately I cannot afford to spend money on power sets and what not for the sole purpose of funding further development.

I'd say about 100 bucks or so on points...maybe about 200-250 total between 2 accounts since launch all those years ago.

No complaints from me.
