Quote:Actually, I lost the +2 over Alpha buff with the crash. I still outlasted a couple of the others. For the record, the Battalion soldiers were Tankers buffed with controller pets (not sure if any of the drivers used them: they would have been quickly vaporized), ranged attacks, purple triangles, and shifted +2 beyond the alpha shift. Oh, and to make them really hard to kill, some of you might have noticed they had a powerful green healing and regenerating aura. You guys were fighting Tanker-mitos: that's the healing power of a green Hamidon mitochondria.
So yeah: tanker health, near capped resistances, AV triangles, mito healing, shifted 50+3. Tough, but not invincible - as we saw. I hope you guys enjoyed my attempt to create a balanced opponent for you. -
In a crowd shot like that you wouldn't be able to see the names in the 3 point font either.
Case in point (from above):

Quote:Each of the Battalion characters seemed to have their personal version of Arcanaville's Battalion costume. And for those interested, The Battalion!
Here is mine, BattalionGamma (taken post-event):

You're right. I now don't feel bad for Carbine. It also reinforces my low opinion of Garriott.

PCI Express 2 and 3 are the same type of slot and are compatible. You will be limited to PCI-X 2.0 speeds though.

Tom's Hardware has a Graphic's Card Hierarchy Chart. It was just updated for November 2012.
The 460-256bit is one step up from the GTX550. The 460 seems to require a 450W PSU. -
CoH was the final straw for me. I knew about the other games, however none of those games were genres I was especially interested in. I also knew that once they say that they are shutting down a game that there wasn't a chance to save CoH as it existed in August. I'm tired of hearing that "if only NCsoft could see what this is doing, they'll change their mind". That isn't going to happen.
At the point where NCsoft dumped Auto Assault I was already 2+ years invested in this community. Tabula Rasa died when I had 4+ years invested into CoH. Year 5 witnessed the closing of two more games (Exteel and Dungeon Runners). Year 6 had 3 closures (Lineage 1 and two other Korean titles). Likely the only reason they haven't closed 4 games this year is that they are running out of titles to dump.
So over the last 5 years my opinion of NCsoft has eroded:- From "This company backed CoH when times are tough." (2007)
- To "This company seems a bit mis-managed."
- To "This company is being run by idiots."
- To "This company doesn't actually care about its games at all."
- To "Why the hell do people keep trusting this company?" (present)
There comes a point where you have to take a look at what a group is doing vs what they are claiming. They claim they are the worldwide leader in MMOs, but all they are is the worldwide leader of MMO-Killers.
NCsoft doesn't deserve the attention it is getting. In my mind they are already a dead company. I will never buy a product from them, and I will do my best to tell others why to avoid them. I feel bad for Carbine, but they should have done their homework before joining with NCsoft.
I've dealt with other companies that have pulled the same stunts as NCsoft has (take from a financially viable product to fund multiple failed product launches). Things didn't end well for those companies either. -
Quote:I'm saying it is just a matter of time. No point on a slow, lingering death. So in order to stop NCsoft killing any more gaming communities, you want them to kill off ALL of their gaming communities by going out of business?
I was prepared to stay with this game well into 2014. I never gave up trying to get players that left to come back. -
Quote:I wasn't talking about ex-employee comments. When current employees in Korea say that "the company gives an almost free lunch" as the only good thing about a company, the corporate atmosphere is toxic.Yes because disgruntled EX employees always make a great reference for how good a company is. I would rather work at a job where I hated the company..than not have a job.
Quote:So yeah when I see people saying they hope X-Game shuts down...reminds me how petty people truly can be to wish that on other people; employees and gamers.
I could care less about the employees though. They are supporting an unethical company. They know how bad things are internally.
Quote:I get the feeling that some of those upset to that point have no other MMO they want to play.
Likely why they also say every other one is terrible and try to point out every bad thing about them.
I have accounts with two F2P games as well (rarely used).
Quote:I don't play any other MMO but would never wish for people to become unemployed or for fans of another game to lose their game. Seems silly/petty/cruel to wish financial hardship and/or sadness on complete strangers because you don't like a company they are associated with.
NCsoft is paving the way to making itself go out of business, at least in North America. I will neither help it nor hinder its progress to oblivion. -
From employee comments, working for another company would be considered a benefit.
It is going to happen. There will be a time when NCsoft shuts down another game. The company is a pathological game killer. I consider NCsoft going out of business so they won't kill more communities to be the one of the best things that could happen to the game industry. -
Quote:I look forward to the day when Aion, Lineage II, or Guild Wars 2 will be the largest "active" MMO shut down.Old article. They're even worse now.

They're lower, right now, than they've been since April 21st 2010.
No, I'm not bitter. -

I'd like to do some regular Magisterium runs for practice as well... I'll try for a league Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Likely around 6pm Pacific, 8 pm Central, 9 pm Eastern for those nights.
Edit:
I don't think I'm feeling up to running a trial tonight. -
Oh, and you can try manually joining a channel too:
/chat join <channel name>
Example:
/chat join OOC
You can check who is on a channel by:
/chat list <channel name>
Example:
/chat list OOC -
Quote:I've done it for Templar and Illuminati. I really like how the three factions essentially get the same story, but at different points in the overall story. Your actions as a Templar directly affect the mission the Illuminati get (the Illuminati show up at the parking garage last, after the show is essentially over.)
And yeah, the use of illumination is really well done. There are a couple of future missions that send you into darkness as well, very creepy. Speaking of which, remember to hang on to the head lamp you get from this mission! It will come in handy later.Quote:I tried to keep mine but when I exited the mission it was gone. -
Quote:It is very possible that there is a problem with your account, I know of at least one person that had a major chat bug. /petition it and hopefully the GMs will be able to help you out.Maybe I've screwed something up with my settings, but I literally *never* see any chat. I see people, have done a couple of dungeons through the group finder, but my main's just finished egypt and i never see any one chatting
Other than that, there is the instructions up-thread about setting up the auto-join for channels, but here is a screenshot of the files needed:
A "Scripts" folder needs to be in the game folder, and the two files need to be named exactly the same (no extension). -
Quote:I would use this site instead:I wouldnt take any notice of the system analyzer as its run from the NVidia site and so assumes uf you dont have an nvidia card your machine wont run it which is a bit naff and transparent, frankly

Quote:Yeh, I've encountered a lot more than zombies, but zombies are the most ubiquitous. Followed by Ak'abs and Draugr. None of which I can stand >_>. I miss being able to skip mobs.
Werewolves & Vampires are throughout Transylvania, but there are other nasties as well. -

Quote:Yeah, it is going to be White that I'll bring, nothing else is close to the requirements.I agree, your requirements aren't out of line for what you want to do. White's build is fairly tight and if I bring her, I'll have to drop one or two powers to do the leadership pool. I'll check a couple of my other 50s, as they might be better suited to this. On the other hand, if I don't have anything better suited, I'll bring White to help others get the badge.

I hope everyone remembered to take into the fact that Daylight Savings time got most of us to set the clock back one hour.
