So how much have you spent. . .

I've spent $100. I bought a $50 points pack for my 2nd account to get it to tier 9. Then I bought a bunch of stuff up front on both accounts using either my bonus points (main account) or the purchased ones (second account). This was for stuff like extra enhancement trays and a power set here and there, which left my primary account with not very many points, but my secondary account with a lot.

Lately I started using Enhancement Boosters to fine tune my 50s. I'm into revisiting min/max designs on existing characters, and boosters let me free up 1-3 slots on various characters for use in other powers. This took quite a lot of boosters, which my 2nd account had points for, but my primary account did not. (I also spent Reward Tokens for some boosters, but I needed more.) So I bought another $50 of points on my primary account. Now both accounts are fairly low, so I may end up buying more. When I do, I will likely do so in $50 increments, as I want the bonus points for bulk purchases, but can't really justify $100 at a given time, even if I could afford it (and do better with it) in the long run.

I have not bought any booster packs.

Sorry to hear you think you've wasted your money but I'm reasonably certain that this game has a few more years left to it so there's a good chance they'll eventually offer something you can use.
when freedom was in beta, i think i got approx 28000 points worth of stuff on my wishlist, currently i still have about 11600 points worth of stuff lefton my wishlist (my wishlist was mostly the storage increasers and extra costume slots, but i get other things as they came out lol)

Probably an extra $60 or so beyond my sub for the last 4 years...

Other than subscriptions, only a few bucks to open up a handful of things. Since the 400 monthly points started, I haven't needed to drop any real world currency.

Just don't ask me how much I've spent on hats.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

They'll need at least 550 points a month of it just to balance out.

I'm actually curious now what kinds of things you expected were going to be in the Market in the first place. Sounds like you're implying there has basically been nothing you've cared about for six months now. Why did you risk $100 on something that apparently had little chance to satisfy you at least to some degree?

20 bucks outside of sub fee. And, yes, I would have enjoyed four lattes or four packs of cigarettes more than what I got for that 20 bucks.

Be well, people of CoH.

No, I'm implying that there's been less than 550 points a month of good stuff.

Well, part of it is the moronic prices. I'd rather let the points rot than spend $10 on a minor improvement for 1 character.

Previously, we'd get a good bonus power every 3-6 months, now we get a minor reskin on something we already have or a new ability that is effectively worthless since it detoggles everything. I've bought about half the costume pieces and that's not even vaguely keeping up with the monthly bonus points.

But... I already got all the costume parts from the super packs (so much for swearing never to buy any ) and I don't want anything else from them.

Maybe the market doesn't have enough junk to soak up the points accumulated by VIP accountholders, but with my being a lowly FTP leech I see plenty of neat stuff I want to pick up eventually....

Well all things being equal we know that the prices for most things will likely either go on temporary sales or permanent reductions eventually. If for whatever reason you think something costs too much now you can always wait another year or two for something to get "cheap" enough. *shrugs*

I bought things like the Rocket Board, additional costume slots and extra enhancement/market spaces months ago and I use them daily. I suppose its all a matter of what your priorities are.

Looks like I bought exactly two $15 point bundles so far, over and beyond my 550 VIP points. So, about the same rate as buying a Super Booster every 3 months or so.

This.

The Paragon Market is just another mini-game within the greater whole. I've got over 1600 points banked and can trade them in for anything I decide I want. The problem is finding the things I want.

$300, I think, almost all on store-bought enhancements for mid-level characters: slot store-bought set as slots become available, never worry about upgrading the set or effects of IO level on exemping again. (I don't care about going below the minimum level of the set.)

I'm on the 3 month subscription (or is it 4 month? I forget), and apart from that, 0$.

I'm not interested in vanity pets, gambling packs, or consumables. In terms of costumes and powers, there are quite a few on the market that I could see myself wanting at some point. However, I generally don't buy something until I'm actually ready to use it (unless I'm quite confident I will be using it at some point and it goes on sale or something) - i.e. I haven't bought SJ yet despite liking it and planning on using it, because I haven't yet decided exactly what I want to do with it. Given that, so far the monthly stipend has been enough to keep up with the things I actually need for whatever I'm currently working on.

I don't have any real objection to the idea of spending points, but I'm a cheap *******, so as long as I can get away without it, I will.

Other than my yearly subscription, I bought a $50 point pack. I haven't spent most of it, but I don't worry about grabbing stuff I want (like flying carpet for just one magic-using character).

I spent a lot....but I got a lot of good things

I increased my storage for everything that could be increased so I have plenty of elbow room..I even splurged and bought an extra enhancement tray which has paid for itself many times over, and am seriously thinking of buying the second.

I bought all the wonderful costume sets, and I also bought the ability to change into a wolf....which I use a lot, and am eagerly awaiting the feline version

I bought the Rocket Board, and the Flying Carpet, which my Controller uses for her travel powers.

And then I discovered the IOs in the Paragon Market...the Kin Combats, the Mako's Bites, Touch Of Death, LOTG, and Performance Shifters, and the Numinias...all things I had a hard time getting in WW as they were soooo expensive there.

So, yes, I have spent a lot of cash in the cash shop....and, I do not regret it.

At least $100 on super packs alone, those bloody things are addicting. Probably another $100 or so for other things, and of course my subscription.

The thing I find interesting is that even though I'm more than willing to drop money on stuff in the market, I'm still very frugal about how I spend my points. If something is way expensive for what it is I really can't bring myself to spend money on it.

On beta (before they made purchases free), I "spent" enough to get like 4 dozen tokens. :-p

In addition to my normal monthly subscription I allot myself a CoH allowance of $50 a month. And I generally go through those points in the first week of having them... all of them...

While this may sound pretty bad my wife spends roughly twice that amount on HER on-line games... so I consider myself thrifty...
