It would be tough, but we could live with that.

Trying a few others has convinced me that I don't like MMOs in general. I just like this one.

Those are cool.

Voted 'other' because there's really no sustainable subscription price that I'd balk at. I've dumped a lot more on the market, once I started going full store-bought enhancements on anyone that wasn't already at 50.

Costumes are saved. Everything else is just levels and IOs. Wouldn't prefer to restart, but it would have some advantages too.

I'll donate to TonyV's efforts regardless, when the call comes out. But if they turn out to be proposing to continue independently with the original developers, that strikes me as worth donating a lot to. The things they've been doing lately have been really good, and are worth investing in.

I think some level of future development is necessary. As much as we all don't want the game to die, if it can only exist in a code-frozen state, eventually I think a lot of people will lose interest.
That said, I'd contribute to any effort, just probably substantially more to something with a chance of continued new content. As a C++ developer, possibly I could help with that. -

I always thought you did a great job representing the company professionally while still showing your enthusiasm for the game. To me, CoH was, up until today, in a golden age, and you represented it well. Thanks.

I would drop neither, because keeping groups of mobs off their feet is what keeps my energy blaster alive. If you put a gun to her head and told her to pick one to give up, she'd probably tell you to just pull the trigger.
However, Energy Torrent has better damage and better recharge, so I'd drop Explosive Blast. If I had to. Though I can't imagine what pool powers and epics would be worth not taking both of the AoEs. -
I have a dark/sonic/dark that I think is my most powerful character. The controls in /sonic (Screech, Siren's Song) added to Dark Miasma give me good tools for both groups and single hard targets, and AV regen debuffing as well as sonic's -res effect. And that's on top of having a great heal and all the -tohit.

I've narrowed it down to those two sets, but can't decide between them, and don't have much experience with either. Currently have beast/time at level 17, don't have a second MM concept in me, so if I'm going /nature I'm rerolling.
I gather they're both pretty decent support sets, so I'm looking for opinions on how they pair with beasts. The primary is fixed, though. -
I went corruptor. The kin values for defenders just didn't seem to make up for the extra damage corruptors got.
-
I don't buy every costume set that comes out, but I would buy every one that's been mentioned so far in this thread. The Imperial Dynasty pack was great, and a total surprise to me. More of that! Russian in particular sounds like fun, and Egyptian.

I had to stop reading the thread right here and quote this, because it's exactly how I feel. As far as I'm concerned, make everything available.

I'm glad the people who want post-apocalyptic pieces, space pirate things and such are getting sets, though I have no use for them myself.
More golden/silver age costume parts is my #1 want for new costume pieces too. I'd like to see maybe a new type of tights so that people using the look of the current sets don't lose their costumes. Essentially it would do for CoH what Alex Ross did for golden and silver age characters, updating textures, adding a few details like trim for gloves and boots.
The retro sci-fi boots are a good step in that direction: I've switched to using the plain version on a few characters because they're just more realistic-looking than what shipped with the game originally. I don't have any retro sci-fi characters, but the generically useful pieces really helped. Same with the leather armor set. -
Incarnate powers past the alpha slot. Judgement in particular.
Everything else about the game is improving at a pretty impressive rate, but the homogenization of ATs makes the level 50 experience less interesting to me. -
I wouldn't mind if most of the blaster secondaries were changed. /Energy is the only one I use, other than an elec/elec blaster that doesn't really work. I also had fire/fire, but scrapped it for a fire/kin corruptor after I realized Fire Ball was better damage per activation than the AoEs in /fire. To me, that's a bit of a failure of /fire, that I felt going outside the AT and picking a non-fire set was a better way to continually set things on fire than using the actual secondary dedicated to it.
Powersets I enjoy as they are and would not want to see changed:
Battle Axe
Energy Blast
Sonic Attack -
It's too bad the set didn't have an option to be shiny like in the picture, along with having the shield. I'd probably use it more than the current version, Brushed Metal Angel.

I use Aid Self with Power Boost on my energy/energy blaster, and it's pretty effective if you devote full slots to it (two interrupt reductions so it doesn't suck, max out heal, as much recharge as you can manage) and use Power Boost first. I consider taking Aid Self on every /energy blaster just because this is so good, but Energy Blast has the control to take great advantage of it.
Though fire/energy doesn't have the kb to give you that time to heal up, Rain of Fire might make a pretty good substitute. Rain of Fire --> Power Boost --> Aid Self.
And yes, turn on Super Speed, target something, queue up Total Focus, dash past and it should animate when you're way on the other side of the target. Takes practice, but that's jousting. Instead of jousting, you can start with Power Thrust and immediately hit Total Focus. Instead of you moving, they do, and they wind up stunned somewhere else.
You could also try a hybrid ranged/melee approach on a team: use melee attacks on bosses, relying on stun to keep them mezzed, then clean up everything else with the fire ranged attacks when the big threats are gone.
Solo, I'd do it just like Fulmens described. It's like a mini Fire Blast guide. -
I do wish they hadn't nerfed Lightning Storm. The faster recharge on the bolts was great for area denial.
If they buff Freezing Rain, then Phantom Army, Fulcrum Shift and the rad toggles might come around asking for handouts too. -
I have a dark/storm corruptor. It's not too bad. With Freezing Rain and all the stun, it's got decent control.
If you're into knockback, energy/storm is pretty good stuff. All kb all the time. And ill/storm is powerful and lots of fun.
