When it becomes available through the NCsoft Store on November 3rd, 2010, the City of Heroes Origins Pack will provide your characters with new customization options based on the five character Origins: Magic, Mutant, Natural, Science, and Technology.

To be more specific- this is not quite as useless as the Party Pack, but it's still nothing I'll be paying money for.

Bah. Nature but not Natural?

That sucks!

Most of my characters are Natural. And have nothing to do with Nature.

I will be picking this one up.

For those that cannot see the video, Elric was good enough to post images (though the thread has been locked so I can't quote it easily.)

For those of you who can't see the video just yet. I have some screenies for you. Not the greatest and i'm sorry but it can at least give you an idea.Oh and yes I know some of the auras are hard to see mostly the first tech and second science. In no particular order:

If I may, I'd like to quote a very wise woman...

"Do you remember Thunderhead? Tall, storm powers? Nice man, good with kids. November 15th of '58! All was well, another day saved, when... his cape snagged on a missile fin! Stratogale! April 23rd, '57! Cape caught in a jet turbine! Metaman, express elevator! Dynaguy, snagged on takeoff! Splashdown, sucked into a vortex! No capes!"

But the auras look quite nice, so I'll probably buy this when I buy a copy for Kyo's account.

Will the capes/auras be unlocked from character creation?

Having to wait until November sucks. Hard. :P

How much will this cost? The same as the Party Pack since this isn't a full Super Booster Pack?

Are you guys working on allowing two color choices in Auras? The Storm aura begs for that.

Will these be restricted to characters of the corresponding origins, or will we be able to mix and match? (e.g., not every "robot" character I've ever done has a "technology" origin, but they might want sparks anyway.)

Pretty good, especially the leaves aura and cape. I would like to hear the price. There's merit to having micro packs that are smaller than super boosters, if they cost less than the super boosters.

Very pleased with this pack. Ten new auras -- that's a lotta aura!

I was all set to be as disappointed by an capes-an-auras-only pack. I didn't buy the Party Pack and was all set not to buy this one because I really want actual costume pieces, most of my characters don't wear capes or use auras...

However, after watching the video, I have at least 8-10 characters these auras and cloaks are PERFECT for and will really put the icing on their costumes.

I can't wait for November now... please be a bro and tell me it releases on the first, Ocho!

I'll agree the lack of a price for this pack is a bit worrisome. I can see this easily going for $8 US, no problem. I'm not 100% sure it's worth $10 US.

Will I be buying this pack, regardless of price? I believe so. I have a number of characters that the auras alone would be useful for. The capes are not as useful, to me personally, but they do look very nice.

I'm guessing Marketing is afraid of another Party Pack blow up here.

EDIT: Having seen Ocho's reply now take's my perceived value of the pack to the $10 US. I will be purchasing this pack for sure.

Ya know, if the emote pack and the origin pack were combined they would make one Epically cool Booster Pack! Not, Super, though, without some wacky power like, say, a 'Pie to the Face' attack that only does minor (yummy) damage but also causes a moment of confusion as the target tries to determine the type of pie and/or whether there's also whipped cream.

So, why not do this:

Anyone who buys the Origin Pack gets the Emote Pack - gratis!
Anyone who has already bought the Emote Pack gets the Origin Pack - gratis!

Just think of all the good will such a brilliant marketing scheme would evoke! As the news spread of the kind, caring, benevolent marketing people at CoGR (that is, 'City of Going Rogue', pronounced 'codger') people playing other MMOs would demand similar treatment from their marketing people, and when they didn't get it, might decide to bring their gaming currencies over here! This could be the very thing that propels CoGR to the top of the MMO heap! And over at the (former) biggest MMO of all time, the marketing people would be going, "Ka-ching! Ka-ching! Ka... Hey, where'd everybody go?"

This may very well be that Kirkian one in ten thousand chance!

a-hem. Sorry about that, but some of that stuff is beyond perfect for a few of my characters. I'll be buying this as soon as I can, unless something painfull is done with the price.
