Discussion: What's your Origin?

I think we will be getting two copies of this. Need the spouse approval.

That being said, Get rid of the dang cape mission. It has far outlived any usefulness it once had, if any.

Looks nice and all, just not $10 nice. For $6, you would have had a sale. At $10, not a chance.

Nice to know the price ahead of time though and now I'm starting to get an idea of what future packs will be like.

April 23rd, '57! Cape caught in a jet turbine! Metaman, express elevator! Dynaguy, snagged on takeoff! Splashdown, sucked into a vortex! No capes!"

But the auras look quite nice, so I'll probably buy this when I buy a copy for Kyo's account.
And this is why nature origin goes capes but natural didn't.
We know better. (Or specifically have trouble making bio-degradable or energy capes look good).

anyway though, Paragon Studios, you are officially redeemed for the party pack.

I'd figured as much, but nice to have confirmation.

With all the auras having combat mode options available on different body parts, it has really opened up a new side to the power customization we already have. My mage's plant control and weather summoning will soon activate with magical runes, and I could almost giggle with excitement about that.

Ten dollars for 10 fine-looking auras that can be customized to work with my costumes and my powers? I'd have been fine with just that, but there are also five capes, several of which interest me as well? I think that's pretty sweet, to be honest.

We all see value in different things, and I suspect I'm gonna get more value out of this booster than I have from any since the Magic one. That'll make it worth the price for me. YMMV.

Notice how all the $10 packs were called SUPER boosters and the dance pack was 'just' a booster $7.99. I bet this booster will be $7.99 too.
I still don't think they were part of this pack. The numbers don't add up and the Leaf aura and Storm aura were around at the same time as the leak. I think they are part of a Holiday pack or Holiday rewards (which would have stunk since those are on a toon by toon basis).

Hrmph! The third!

So - the price isn't good. A precedent should be kept with the Packs. You released a non super pack for 8 bucks. This is a non super pack and should be consistent. We'll ignore the Wedding pack, if it was released today it should be 8 bucks too.

Any super booster pack with a power should be 10 bucks, IMHO.

Very true. It still matters how that critique is presented to be helpful or not or even read by the people who need to read it. There's good and bad ways to express an opinion. So.. I agree with you but I agree with others who have issues with how said comments are given.

New capes and auras look AWESOME...
But with some tweaks and few costume pieces added for all origins this booster would be a best-seller...
The Organic armor with skin option was requested A LOT, even when the mutant pack was still in beta.
Can we have that added to this booster?
Maybe if the player base push a bit we can have some costume pieces added, same way they added the Wolf/Fox tail to the mutant pack.

Nuh uh, I bet it will be an AFK Pack! Including an assortment of port-a-potties, a wooden outhouse with crescent moon cutaway in the door (one-seat standard, two-seat models available for leveling pact people), and a nice brick <bleep!> house. When you activate the power the facility will appear and your character will enter and be safe from all harm unless a Tyrannosaurus Rex happens to attack - which just might be possible (nudge nudge wink wink) if enough people buy the AFK Pack!

(Still say the party pack and the origin pack should be combined for one low, low price.)

I thought that was the 78 month vet reward?

Eh, bit skimpy for the price. Of course I rarely use auras anyway so -- for me -- it has even less value.

I won't bother moaning and griping about it. Folks who think it's worth it should buy it and enjoy it. I'll save myself ten bucks and hold close the lesson the Party Pack taught me: Just 'cause they make it doesn't mean I have to buy it. And I'll wait and hope for a more traditional booster with a focus on costume pieces (I know auras technically qualify but you know what I mean).

I'm not made. I know a lot of friends who have elemental/nature themed toons, and capes and auras do seem to go underlying themes of natural origin. (Superman is technically science since it's a reaction to the yellow sun, and Starfire doesn't have a cape.)

By that logic you're also science origin, since you being alive is also a reaction to the yellow sun.

Magic, Nature and Science auras and capes are AWESOME. Pure AWESOME.
Technology auras and cape are cool.
Mutant... Well I dont like the cape at all, and maybe is the video but I see one aura that looks like Omega, and the other one I dont see it at all.

This pack, at this price should come with a few costume pieces requested for the "original" Origin boosters, like Organic armor with skin, for example.
I wish I can buy this... But not working right now, cant afford the montly fee and this

To respond to your answers, Black Pebble:

Price

$9.99? This is NOT inside of my personal, reasonable price median of $6-$9 as desired and/or hoped for.

When

Good choice. Earlier, the better. "Soon" vs. "Soon (tm)"

To the pack's artists:

Well done! Several of the auras and capes look outstanding! I am, as always, impressed with the quality, detail of your work as well as the recently applied flexibility of placing auras at various body area locations. Take a bow, team!

Buy Decision?

My financial advisor (my wallet) and I will require further discussion on the matter.

Since mine and the family's accounts (4 accounts total) and current personal/family finances are a key factor here, there is a possibility this pack may not be a possibility.

*watches moths fly from my wallet*

Wouldv'e been a 'sure buy' for all 4 of me and my family's accounts if it'd fallen in the $6-$9 range though. Close, but still outside my tight entertainment budget's range.

*contemplates value of selling oranges on the side of an L.A. freeway to enjoy a PC MMO game cape/aura pack at 1/4 the cost of the Going Rogue Expansion*

If I recall correctly the mutant pack did not orignally have a power, it was added after feedback. I'm hoping this one can be the same.

I would accept just unlocking all capes and auras at level 1 as a valid 'power' and would then see this worth $10. otherwise... I think $8 is fair.

The Capes
It may not be obvious in the trailer, but the Impervium Mantle cape is Ultra-moded. The art team did some miraculous things to make that happen.
Want better video card.

Not nitpicky, want.

Well, it's not like the packs are "limited edition" or anything.
You can buy any of them still, at any time.

Oh and as an addon to my acceptable price of $8 for the pack I'd pay $15 for a party pack + origins combo.

Putting the size change in the mutant pack was a mistake imo. Putting all the capes at level 1 in another pack would be an even bigger one.
