As a customer, it's not my responsibility to care about a company's financial woes. I know how bad the economy is. That's why it's very annoying constantly being asked for more money, especially for stuff that is overpriced (Party Pack) and that they had no business charging extra for (Open Present emote, GR Complete Items).
Sure it is. If ANY business continues to give away free goodies as such, then they will go bust and the product that you buy from them [game] will no longer be available. MTs that have zero impact on how a game is played [eg content/levels] should be allowed imo.

Really though you have to look at the larger picture at just how much free stuff we have gotten when you compare it to other MMOs [none as "mature" as this one] that dont even get half the free updates that we do. I know a certain other MMO that tries to charge you roughly the same amount for a costume SET, thats a set not a booster with a whole load of items in them.

As long as they keep the boosters as just nice little extras then its fine by me. Some people will like them more than others but thats ok, not at any disadvantage by not buying them

Just had a thought, the first major pack was the wedding pack correct? Remember them saying they were able to bring content forward because of enough people purchasing it. Is that still the case devs/mods regarding how well boosters do?

I'll happily buy this pack. I like the choices. I didn't like the Party Pack, so I didn't buy that. It's really not any more complicated than that.

Packs are not a harbinger of the end of the game.

Packs also serve the purpose of giving artists/programmers something to do on their downtime, rather than having less people working on the meat. That's where the game would suffer. Looking for reasons to keep talented people around is supposed to be a good thing.

I'd certainly consider getting this, if the price is right.

If they did some sort of bundle with the Party Pack where you could buy both for a reduced price, I might even consider going that route. (Cole knows it's the only way I'd get the Party Pack.)

Yay! This pack I can go for!

If you folks plan to give this out for free as a teaser can we not do this by forums posts? How about some costume contest on each server instead?

Wait, if you aren't going to use them why are you going to buy the pack?

But the auras look quite nice, so I'll probably buy this when I buy a copy for Kyo's account.

Unless it's ridiculouslt priced, I'll definitely be buying this. Nice work.

Myself and some other Unionites were all stood around the Praetorian halloween salvage contact last night, all in awe at her leaf aura and wishing players had access. Thought it odd the pack gets announced the next day.

Some of those capes and auras look pretty cool. However, I don't think I have any immediate use out of it. So, pass at the moment.

Now, if you were to start offering these boosters for $20 and throw in a month of free-time too (such as the Mission Architect Edition, Mac Edition, etc), I'd probably go and buy all the ones I don't have. Except for the Party Pack and possibly the Cyborg Pack.

I agree partially with this.

Even though I intend to get this pack.

That's an "au naturale" aura. It would be released with hairy legs/armpit options for female toons. <shudder>

Many of my characters will be using these auras, and some will even use the capes. It's mostly about the auras for me though on this one! Wewt!

I only buy these things if it looks like I can figure out a purpose for the pieces, even if I end up repurposing them. I use bits of the Wedding, Magic, and Valkyrie sets all the time for things that have nothing to do with the stated themes.

This one had me at Autumnal Cape. I seldom or never use auras, but there are any number of my characters that have been using the Bone 2 cape to represent an animal skin draped over their shoulders. But ultimately, that looks a bit thin and flimsy for the purpose. It looks to me like that too would be workable for the purpose with the right coloring.

My main reason for why I will be buying this, but why I didn't buy the Party Pack. I look at costumes on my characters ALL the time I'm playing them. I only use emotes when I'm bored and waiting for other players.

Not to mention that these are BEAUTIFUL costumes, and I already have perhaps half a dozen ideas for them.

...I forgot what experience means.

Well, assuming the price is reasonable ($8-$10) I will definitely be picking this up then. The aura's are awesome (and more than a few of my toons will be using them), and Capes? I got a couple of ideas there too, but I nearly squeed with the possibility of these capes and aura's at level 1!!!

Sure, but the problem is

1) These packs feel like they coming way too often now. After the Party Pack debacle they shouldn't really have been thinking about one until the new year, and they shouldn't have done one so soon after a major expansion to begin with.

2) The devs have been charging extra for stuff they shouldn't be. An emote that's been in the game for years? Dance emotes created for, and originally included in, Going Rogue? The long requested ability to change your character's height after creation? They had no business charging extra for those and not having them part of issue releases (and in the case of the GR emotes, part of GR).

3) The packs have adversely affected content releases. Instead of being extra, IMO we're paying for stuff we used to get for free. I don't care if the devs claim otherwise.

Those other MMOs that have a sub fee and don't produce as much content as this game used to or go overboard on numerous MTs? I don't play them. Hint hint.

I like that there is a booster between each issue. I hope they continue to do this, because if I buy it or not, it is still fresh stuff in the game between the issues.

This is what it is, MTs are the way of the future I am pretty sure. When the big boy on the block started doing it, I figured the rest of the world would too.

I might buy it if it was six dollars. One step up from the Party pack but not alot. NC thinks are origins are cash cows.

All the capes and auras look good. I wish I had the cash to drop on this and the mutant pack I still haven't picked up.

I do feel it a bit disconcerting the frequency that these packs are coming at us though.

Atomic aura is great. Don't like it? DON'T BUY IT. Next.

I'd be willing to pay a little extra for the quality that's just overflowing from this pack, so $10-15 is reasonable to me. The only thing that would make this even better would be if we could have natural auras, and not just nature - but then, natural heroes probably wouldn't have an aura in the first place.
The silvery runes!! (Probably!)
I think I've sat next to a few people with natural auras on the bus...

Also, think Pig Pen from the Peanuts.

Heehee... I was beaten to it!

As to boosters containing powers...
The thing is... if every booster has a power, eventually we will have way too many powers and the problems associated with balancing them all, inventing new ones, so on and so forth has been touched on in the past and are valid reasons for understanding why maybe a move away from boosters with powers is a good idea.

Like it or not, paid for add-ons are a part of this game now.

I will say this concerns me in one area... Potential new players who take a look and see so much cool stuff tied to additionally purchased packs can easily turn them off and/or give them somewhat of a false impression as to how much this company/game may nickel and dime them.
People don't like to enter into subscriptions with companies that they feel will be too overzealous with extra purchases/fees.
If they have concepts that require most of the packs and/or are completionists (seem like so many are these days), you've got a hefty amount to fork over just to catch up.

I'm not saying they are right to think this game will nickel and dime them too much, but I can see how some may think they're doing themselves a favor to avoid getting involved.
That concerns me, as subscription growth is always a concern.
