I would prefer if we just choose a language and then were brought the whole set of forums.

Yea, i have to agree. whoever thought the the boards need changing should be punched in the throat. The new boards suck in compared to the old ones. Old boards were a lot faster loading and easier to find want you want. any chance of the boards going back to the way they were?

Looks good so far. Will need some getting used to, of course, but the modernized look is neat.

One little (read: huge) issue though: Could we please turn off those image signature things? Totally subjective, I know, but I hate that sooooooo much.

The smileys need to be swapped for the dark background counterparts.



They all have a white outline, as they're made for bright backgrounds. Neither Hero nor Villain themes are bright and should use the black outline variant of the smileys.

That or CoX themed smileys. That'd be nice. But dark background version of the standard ones would be good enough.

Also apparently smileys count as images and we can only use four per post. While having image signatures allowed. I'm sensing a mixed message policy there.

EDIT: There's something odd going on with the smileys, anyway. I used four in this post: Happy, Eek, Roll Eyes and Sad in that order. Sometimes one of them won't show.

These new forums will take some getting used to.

Is it possible to somehow highlight the row background of new posts? I find it difficult to distinguish between the orange vs yellow folder icons.

Similar to the above, the 'new posts' forum indicator versus 'no new posts' indicator is a bit difficult to distinguish between the two icon opacities at a quick glance.

This may be a personal quirk, but do the thread rows in each forum seem taller than necessary? It's like cellpadding is set to higher than needed. This has the side effect of making the boards seem really spaced out on my screen. Compact is good.

Is there a help guide or post available to indicate the new features? Or a comparison guide of 'if you did [this] on the UBB boards, do [foo] on the vBulletin system'.

Thank you McNum for pointing out how to show all the child boards in one list. That saved me a lot of frustration from thinking I'd have to click the parent boards all the time to get around! I've updated my bookmark accordingly.

Why can't we just put avatars in from our computers?

It won't allow me to log in (it accepts it but then logs out, until i make a post)

Reputation points? Didn't we learn from the star feature these kind of things will be bad?

I like what you've done with the place. The Digests need some tweaking though, you folks are letting your code show.

Also, we have blue for heroes and red for villains. I'd like to put in a vote that green be added for rogues.

I don't like having to use my game information to log onto the forums. Keeping my login and password different would be prefered. When attempting to change my forum password I was taken to my NC account page.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it but I would like to be able to view all messages in a multi-page post. The old forums had an "all" link next to the individual page links, and that doesn't seem to be the case here.

I am not happy with the lack of info telling me that I have to use my game info to log into the forums. Took me a while to figure out my handle and password so I could log in, just as a lark I tried my game account info and it worked. Advance warning of this info would have been much appreciated.

The look is eh, guess it will take some time for me to get use to the new look. Color change from the steel blue to something brighter might be nice.

Breakdowns of the threads are now going to take me a while to find. Instead of looking for General Discussion I will have to remember it's under "Fun". Guess that won't take me long to remember, since it's one I frequent the most but the other just might.

Well, checking in before I leave work.

Gonna take some getting used to.

Not sure on the new user control panel / profile stuffs... we'll see.
