I'm having the same "problem" with anyone that pages me getting the [AUTO-REPLY -- Chat Hidden] message every. Single. Tell.
I've also gotten caught in the feedback/spam loop and silenced for two minutes, nevermind that I didn't actually DO anything as I could very well see my chat window.
I'm /hidden from searches on all my characters and I use tabs for my chat windows. I suspect the last is what's triggering this, ahem, QoL feature.
I agree that it would be handy if you're in a full-screen situation (the respec window or base editing without a chat tab overlaid). But is there any way to turn the darned thing off without having to mangle my chat layout? :/

I encountered the same thing on Virtue. I'm finally past the login screen and Virtue, Justice, and Guardian are all grey.

Thank you muchly!

I seem to recall logging into the previous UBB system with my game login and password. (Lack of security warning isn't so good though.)
...it only took me three attempts to remember that. All hail the Remember Me option. :P
-- Lady T
Edit: The other option is that I picked one of my standard passwords when I setup the old forum account. My memory fails. -
These new forums will take some getting used to.
Is it possible to somehow highlight the row background of new posts? I find it difficult to distinguish between the orange vs yellow folder icons.
Similar to the above, the 'new posts' forum indicator versus 'no new posts' indicator is a bit difficult to distinguish between the two icon opacities at a quick glance.
This may be a personal quirk, but do the thread rows in each forum seem taller than necessary? It's like cellpadding is set to higher than needed. This has the side effect of making the boards seem really spaced out on my screen. Compact is good.
Is there a help guide or post available to indicate the new features? Or a comparison guide of 'if you did [this] on the UBB boards, do [foo] on the vBulletin system'.
Thank you McNum for pointing out how to show all the child boards in one list. That saved me a lot of frustration from thinking I'd have to click the parent boards all the time to get around! I've updated my bookmark accordingly.
Thanks for the hard work with the switchover!

Curse is an add-on managing program for WoW and/or WAR. At its most basic, it'll track drop rates of items and send it to the appropriate Curse database (WoW or WAR).

Interesting thread, particularly once Myrdinn started posting some number crunching results.
Of my roster on Virtue (ignoring Infinity and Justice as they're sporadically played):
5 Scrappers (50, 50, 32, 28, 11)
4 Defenders (50, 47, 31, 7)
2 Controllers (41, 31)
2 Tankers (50, 50)
1 Blaster (37)
1 Peacebringer (43)
1 Warshade (34)
5 Corruptors (50, 22, 19, 18, 10)
3 Brutes (38, 31, 22)
2 Dominators (50, 19)
1 Mastermind (41)
1 Stalker (39)
1 Soldier of Arachnos (30) [Bane spec]
1 Widow (38) [Night Widow spec]
I do have one Brute planned for I16 and one Blaster for Going Rogue. (Gee, I wonder which sets those could be.)

Edit: Oops, missed origins.
6 Magic
6 Mutant
6 Natural
6 Science
6 Technology
...okay, that's kind of freaky that I have an equal spread of origin. The two future characters are going to be Natural and Mutant. -

Had you been able to get rid of the popups, would you have kept Avira?
[/ QUOTE ]
Possibly. Will I flip back to Avira? It's unlikely unless avast! starts to annoy me to no end or it goes way down on that list of the effectiveness of anti-virus programs.
Though on a similar vein, I shouldn't have to modify a program or do registry diving after installing it. I abhor crap on my machine and I play with AutoRuns enough as it is. (I know, I know. What one 'wants' versus what one 'gets' are on opposite ends of the spectrum half the time.)
-- Lady T -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd recently installed Avira's Personal (free) product and was liking it except that the nag popup was getting on my nerves. Once I found a way to block it, I liked it MUCH better. Its an awesome lightweight AV that is what AVG used to be before it developed creeping featurism.
[/ QUOTE ]
That annoying pop-up is why I ditched Avira and installed avast!. Pop-up on start-up... okay a bit annoying. Pop-up in the middle of a mission and mid-fight? Mmmno. I got a few glances from my husband then received a suggestion to uninstall Avira.
Before I switched from AVG, I did discover a way to neuter two of the always-on 'protection' aspects. I think one of them was safe search and the other was putting the green star beside links. It's been a while since I futzed with it.

Thank you very, very, very much! It certainly was not something I was expecting but is definitely appreciated. It's an awesome first piece of character art.
Now to get it printed nicely and framed.

Below are links to images on how I set-up my CCC and in-game settings. I'm currently running the 9.5 drivers and the in-game preferences are tweaked slightly to my preferences, beyond the recommended settings for ATI cards.
Catalyst Control Centre: 1 - 2 - 3
In-Game Settings: 1 - 2
Others may chime in with their experiences. Hope these help!
-- Lady T
Edit: Fixed a link. Forgot to mention the CCC is in "Advanced" view. -
I click Windows+M (Minimize All to Desktop) a couple times and then make City of the first program to get re-maximized. I wait a few seconds, tap Print Screen, and then shift to either Paint (basic capture) or Photoshop (want to crop the shot down) and Ctrl+V. Sometimes it takes me a few iterations of the cycle to get exactly what I want.
I also disabled the Snip Tool.

Is the mission tagged Hero or Villain? I've encountered this problem myself, and yes, the entire team is in the same zone.
I solved it by passing the star to whoever has the tagged mission and they'll set the task.

The OOS is currently occurring on one of my characters after playing the past three hours without issue. Every 10 seconds she snaps back to the door. My teammates do not see me move away from the door between location resets.
Minimal badges on this alt and no IO set bonuses as of yet.
Resolved the snapping back by getting a 'port from a teammate instead of using /sync.

Edit: I forgot to check /netgraph while it was happening. -

Had reported last week on the test server that the Mini 2 and Mini 3 skirts have the slits on the front and back now instead of the sides so that the character's underwear is clearly visible. Checked today's update and sure enough now the same issue is happening on the live server. Don't know if there are any other clothes items this happens on. I have bugged it on both servers. FYI
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for the report. We looked into it here and have not been able to reproduce it. PM me with the server and character name of a character affected by this and we'll try and track it down.
[/ QUOTE ]
One of my characters is also affected with this quirk. Sent a PM to you.

A hidden gem! I suspect I'll be oogling your DA page often.

Computer: Pentium 4, 3.0GHz
RAM: 1.25 GB
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
Video driver: nv4_disp.dll
Driver version: 6.14.00109147 (English)
Driver date: 8/11/2006 20:42:52
Character: Taxibot Ciar
Server: Infinity
Contact: Indigo
Story Arc: Melvin and the Mysterious Malta Group
Mission: Stop bombing, save office workers (Perez Park instance)
I have now crashed three times in this one mission (twice inside in two different spots on the map and once outside after calling Indigo), and I seem to be taking some of my teammates with me. I'm fighting or standing there and suddenly I get the 'We're sorry, City of Heroes has SNAFUed. Would you like to submit a report?' I didn't submit a report the first two times, but did for the last.
I'm not doing anything different in the background than normal -- HeroStats, TeamSpeak, Winamp, and a Firefox window. -

While you can't turn off the new info, you can kill a lot of it from popping up. under options, general (where the profanity filter is) there's a slider for the tooltip response. setting it at 0% prevents it from showing up. may not be exactly what you were hoping for, but its something ...
[/ QUOTE ]
Not quite, but thank you for the suggestion.I use the tooltips when trying to remember what a certain power is called. (The bane of altitis with different powersets: "What was that power?" "Uh...")
-
That's why I asked if there was an option to turn it on or off. One of my friends likes it. Me... not so much.
-- Lady T -
Is there any way to disable the tooltip pop-ups listing all the info and the enhancement boosts? Most of that key info is already in the bottom-right corner. If I wanted to know what to slot in a power, that's where I look. Tooltips are usually small, helpful blurbs... not an entry out of a user's manual.
What I'm looking for is the little option to "disable" only these Enhancements tooltips (not all tooltips), similar to being able to "disable" the placement prompts, the deletion prompts, etc.

Oh yeah, the Medicine rez comes in handy. It's good for combat situations if you time it right. Resuscitate + target accept + Transference = ready to rock! If there's nothing left to Transference off of... well, an early application of SB does the trick too.

Furthermore, kinetics is a skillset. Part of why it's my favorite is because it requires the practitioner to PAY ATTENTION. This means NOT targeting the almost-dead minion with these powers. This means ACTIVELY keeping tabs on the battle and using positional powers to ensure effectiveness. Given the speed and recharge bonuses the set provides, and the resultant accelerated rate of battle, the requirement for the user to exhibit these attributes is further magnified.
So no, don't change it. Keep all the lazy and inept people off my set. You are not welcome.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh... I tend to con the third or fourth villain in the mob. But there's not much you can do when you're on a high-level team that mows through everything, particularly after a good application of Fulcrum Shift. Then again, this is why I picked up the Medicine pool for when someone's still hurting after the battle.
"Lazy and inept" isn't entirely accurate. Maybe "rigid and unadaptable" might work better.
-- Lady T -
And there lies the reason my Taxibot has the Medicine pool. ::thinks of all the grumbling of the Transfusion target dying a microsecond too early:: >.>;

Welcome, Cricket!
[ QUOTE ]
Found a neat little cricket on the web, but I can't figure out which background I like the best:
grassy cricket
leafy cricket
lightbeam cricket
zoom cricket
[/ QUOTE ]
I personally like the leafy cricket. The swoop in the background echoes the antennae. That wordart is also very nifty.
