Now THAT sounds like a challenge. The B.A.F. trial (can we just call it a raid?) will be insane indeed.

Is there a guide to DS binds anywhere? I couldn't imagine managing my pets without the binds I've setup for my bots. I'm really looking for the names/commands you use to select the groups you want to command.

Quote:There's a video on YouTube somewhere of him being sent back to the Rogue Isles by...Ghost Widow I think. It's kinda cool. She beats the snot out of him underneath Atlas and then he disappears.I have screenshots of the two bugs I've experienced. But, they don't mean much since I didn't know how to toggle on UI at the time.
During the first Valentine's Day event, our entire team of heroes exited the mission to find ourselves on the other side of the villian elevator. I have pictures of my controller next to the exit for St. Martials.
A few months before that a villian found himself in Atlas Park. Several people attempted to get him the exploration badges, etc., before he was sent back to his villianous ways. -
Just thought I'd chime in that I've also observed the lag problems on Liberty (east coast). I was just playing tonight and it's seriously improved. I had a few red spikes (dropped packets) here and there, but they were very infrequent, and my ping time was better than it normally has been playing on Liberty. Maybe things are finally getting better!

No biggie Mid. Yeah I've done all the usual stuff. I work as a PC/Network technician at a University so I know my way around a network. The thing that gets me is the (apparently) low latency I get when my connection freaks out. I go from a field of "grass" to a green brick in the netgraph with the occasional yellow spike. The odd thing about it is I can still see the mobs moving and (if I've got pets) I can see them attack and I'll even get XP, but the most I can do is stand and watch. So in that way it's not a true LCMS. I'm still getting data, just not sending any.
-
This has actually been on-going for about a year and we've just kind of lived with it, but I finally decided I want to try and figure this out. I definitely see more dropped packets playing on east coast servers, but the drops happen no matter what data center I'm playing on.
-
So my wife and I keep seeing this in our respective netgraphs:
Anyone know how to solve this? Best I can tell it seems to indicate that I'm receiving data from the server, but not sending any. I can move freely, but I can't activate any powers. However if my wife is playing with me I can look on her screen and see that I'm just standing there. It happens whether we use Mac or Windows, however it doesn't happen to either when I play at work with the same computer. So it seems to be an issue with my home Internet connection. -
I've seen that happen on my own computer. It usually means that the toon can't spawn in its current location. Have her try making a new character and see what happens. If it's only one toon that can't log in then you have to file a support ticket and have them move it.
-
Instead of paying for Tiger I'd wait and pay for Snow Leopard. It means you've got to wait a little longer before you can play, but it's a better buy at this point. I believe it's supposed to come out next month (I could be wrong though).

I walked away for almost half an hour yesterday while I was in a mission and it didn't kick me.

I'm a fan of Liberty myself, but it looks like the most votes here so far are for Triumph.

Nice roundup Manga. I did a /e facepalm when I realized I left out the optical drive in my earlier post. In talking to my Apple friend he said that what's custom is often different from one model to another. There's the already mentioned stuff that is definitely off the shelf but some other parts are off the shelf in some machines and custom in others.
-
Quote:I just can't not correct this. The only "off-the-shelf" parts that Apple uses are RAM, Hard Drive, and Processor. Everything else is custom made for/by Apple (and in some cases like the MacBook Air they had custom processors). Even the video cards are special orders from NVidia/ATI. I happen to know someone who does hardware design for Apple and these guys spend a LOT of time designing their own guts.Back in the day there was the argument that all the hardware was produced in house and you didnt get the potential conflicts you get with PCs, but I mean hell, now its the same parts as a pc, just an inflated pricetag so you can use the OS.
90% of their hardware is still in-house custom made stuff.
Oh, and as a Mac user (and Windows support professional) the draw for me is just the usability of the OS. I just find it much more pleasant to use than Windows. That being said I have to admit that I am quite impressed with Windows 7. I'm not going to switch to Windows, but I do think 7 looks pretty good. -
After being gone for a few months it looks like the old SG/Coalition I was in (Law Bringers) is essentially dead, so I'm looking for a new home for my heroes. I've got two 50s, Donathius (MA/Regen Scrapper) and Keir (Ill/Rad Troller) as well as a Kheld in the early 40s and an early 30s DB/Regen Scrapper. I'm not one of these constant players where I'm on every waking moment, I'm a fairly casual player and I'm currently studying to take the LSAT at the end of September so I'm not going to be spending a huge amount of time in-game, but I do play a fair amount.

AE has gone to the Americans! Doooooooooooom!

I discovered this thing, I believe (based on my CoH knowledge) it's called a "door." I tried clicking on it, then I realized that it was beyond the borders of my monitor. I walked over, expecting it to open, and smacked right into it. After some panicked feeling around (not to mention crying in the fetal position for a while) I discovered that these doors require direct interaction with the appendage I use to navigate Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.
Once the door had been breached I found other people within this, apparently new (and strangely small), mission map. I found that there were mobs here and proceeded to attack them. However the one who identified herself as "wife" made me stop and assured me that the short ones are not, in fact, Red Caps, but my children. I was skeptical, but the wife was hot, so I believed her.
Finding this mission map rather unsettling I found another door that led outside. "Alright," I thought, "Now I can get back to AE farming!" Amazingly I went through this door without so much as a hint of a load screen, and found myself on a suburban street. Needless to say I was confused. Had I stumbled across some new zone that we mere players were not yet meant to see? This appeared to be a tree-lined street with individual suburban-style homes, instead of the bustling city with tall buildings everywhere.
I started moving down the street and began to feel nervous when I realized that I had not seen anyone being mugged or attacked for a good 30 feet. Was the sync bug back? Just then my cell phone rang. I answered it in a hurry, imagining maybe that it was Unai Kemen with an update on those scientists with the split souls, or maybe Statesman asking me to join the Freedom Phalanx at long last! However I was disappointed to discover it was this "wife" person again, informing me that the boards were back up and that the neighbors were going to call the police if I didn't stop jumping down the street like a moron.
I returned to the odd, and tiny, mission map, found my way back to the computer and began to hack it. Lo and behold I found the boards were up! This wife person was right! Maybe I should give her a chance... -
Maybe I'm just not seeing it but I would like to be able to view all messages in a multi-page post. The old forums had an "all" link next to the individual page links, and that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Finally! I've been running coh through bootcamp for so long, it's going to be nice not to have to pay for virus protection, the latest windows os (in addition to the latest mac os), etc. Quick question, I've been playing a character through a windows client for a few weeks. Will I be able to continue using that character using the mac client?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, you can to login on anyone's machine and have access to all of your characters. Doesn't matter if it's Mac or Windows. I've been playing with existing toons that I already had on the test server with no problems at all. In fact running the Mac client on the same machine I was using to play CoH through Boot Camp is actually getting me better overall performance. -

If NCSoft wants to impress me, they can get started on an iPhone port.

Oh man...then I'd NEVER get anything done. That would be so cool if they could pull that off somehow. -
Guess that means I need to pull out Donathius' Santa Claus costume again.
-
Just a note for everyone - I've had characters that DC'd or had other oddities happen (one DC while working a respec) that got corrupted or something. Solution was to have support move the affected toon to a safe area (usually they drop 'em near Ms. Liberty).
Hey Ex, can you pass the following along to the support people?
The funny thing is that I tell support in the tickets that it's happened before and that the character just needs to be moved...I get a reply asking for DXDiag, etc. I reply and nicely ask that my toon be moved and then it usually gets done and I can log in. -

Whee! More tailor tokens.
I've not changed my primary costumes since I started.
[/ QUOTE ]
Be that as it may, considering tailor shop prices at times I'll take the tokens
[/ QUOTE ]
I just checked and I will have 40 tokens after tomorrow. I'm just curious, does anyone have more than that?

I've got 53 on my main (including a few vet rewards).
