You CAN however set in your options the ability to view up to 100 posts at once! Which is double the max of the previous forum! Excluding the "all" option of course. That was one of the first things I changed in my profile.

Maybe it's because they are new, but I don't like it so far. Too many extra pages I have to go thru. For people with slow connection, this will be hell for them.

Initially had issue that wouldn't allow me to post, reply or anything, but has since resolved. Learning the eccentricities now.

If we could get a split of the options on whether or not to show images in sigs, text in sigs, all images in a post or just avatar images, I'd be happy. Since I often browse the forums from work, being able to turn off the images in Signatures alone would help, since they often stand out more than the Avatars do. And the ESC key works nicely to stop the animations in the avatars.
More customization options is what we need however, not less.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Image enabled signatures are evil and should be disabled.

First impression: I don't like em. After a couple days I'm sure I'll be used to them and won't care anymore either.
What I DO like is that they kept the "white text on dark background" theme going. I HATE going to other boards where the background is white or off white. After a short amount of time on those boards, my eyes are CRYING for help.

In no particular order
1) Needing to hit quick reply in someone's message before being able to type in the editor box.
2) Gray bar above square avatar.
3) Needing to add background image to ad block (at least bouncing Posi was blocked auto on my system by flashblock.
4) Links not being highlighted in color but underlined instead.
5) No obvious way in editor to add color ... never mind found it.
6) Truly dislike use of game password to login to the forums. Ripe for "harvesting" since I don't even get a secure login icon in my browser on the login page.
7) We can have a signature image now but no more than five lines of text in our sig, not a character count, five lines.
8) No preview, just post.
9) No way to stealth edit for grammar/spelling.
10) No way to jump to new posts without a 2nd click. Not a big thing when the new post is on the first page, annoying if the thread is multi-page.
11) "New Post" isn't clearing reliably after loading the thread.
Hopefully within a week I'll get use to the quirks.

Hmm. I'm not sure about all the new images that we can put in the threads, including the signatures. They have their advantages, but they can be abused too. Well, we'll see how it goes. Otherwise, things look fine to me, although I might look into changing the default font if possible.
Wow, lots of negativity. I like the colors. Matches exactly with the official website, and continuity is a good thing, although most people here don't seem to take change very well.
I like to see people's sigs. The size is already limited (if you check your settings), so you can't get them taller than like 150px, which is very small compared to a lot of forums I've been on. I like to see peep's sigs, because it shows their personality, and a lot of times, it shows what sort of Photoshop/image editing talent they have. I've learned a lot of Photoshop techniques from people after seeing a sig and asking how they accomplished a particular effect. And... I can't wait to see what people do with thier "signature heroes!" I'm going to try a few myself eventually... Having sigs DEFINITELY takes the "bland" away for me. Very nice.
I do like that you can post images as well (Comic-Con pics coming soon!), but I'd like to suggest (if this is not implemented already) that the pics get auto-resized to an avatar-sized pick that you can click on to enlarge if you're interested in seeing it. I think that would get rid of the "OMGLOOKATME" aspect that some of these traditionalists are complaining about.
Not sure if the "reputation" thing is such a good idea, but, meh...It's not going to kill me.
I would suggest somehow getting rid of the grey background behind the avatars, because some people have transparent avatars, and others have avatars that aren't going to be exactly the size of the avatar space you have alotted.
I find it very strange that gamers, of all people, are the ones complaining about "page loading slow with these new forums." Gamers are usually the pioneers of the internet, and have better/more advanced computer systems, internet connections, download rates, and storage capacity than the average public. I figured most CoH players would have been off the dial-up by now.
I think that's all I have for now.

Also., camn someone tell me how to put italics, bold, bb code, URLs, wetc? The olde system had a lovely nice box with all of them in. Wheres the box in these new forums.

Logging into the forum was a complete nightmare. Took me several goes - but finally got it but I notice the "Forgot your Password" link actually takes you to a support board. THAT is going to get some backs up I'm sure.
The colour sucks. It's awful. I mean what colour is it anyhow? A sort of teal grey green kind of nothing colour. Hardly blue heroic and hardly red villainous. It's a nothing colour that has non-descript blandness written all over it.

The second option from the bottom is "Message Editor Interface". If you choose a more "advanced" message interface, you'll find font options in the message interface.

I'd like a much simpler option, seeing as I often browse the forums on a netbook as well, this interface feels quite... chunky? Not really that good for 1024x600 screens.
Also, my favourite forums are now alllll the way at the bottom of the page, which is a little irksome.
