NCSoft Closing Paragon Studios

Oh my..... I can't believe it. To see a game that you've been playing for like 7 years now to just be gone at some point... I just don't know.

So new coh or investing the money in gw2?

Well, guess those guys that said the end was coming was right this time and no one believed them.
Well it was fun while it lasted.
If they make it into an offline stand alone game, that would be great but I'm not sure if they planned for that.

Or hey, this might be a few time one in a bilion that this message is the work of a hacker and the game will go one longer. Or maybe giving the accuracy of those posts on there and it being used as the final say and source of information that cannot be disputed, then the light at the end of the tunnel might really be here.

Ultima Online, Dark Age of Camelot and Anarchy Online are all still up and running. I'm having trouble understanding why they can't just leave the game running in maintenance mode. After all, I'd still like to give them some money.

This is the only MMO that I've played. Why is life so unfair and cruel. Best wishes to the Paragon Studios team and just want to say thanks for the fun, memories, and awesome guys and good luck to your next ventures.

I've been with City of Heroes since beta. I wrote MA arcs, I leveled many, MANY alts, and met almost all of my online friends here. CoH will be missed terribly.

It's been a fun 8 and a bit years. Very sad to see it end before it's time.

Good luck to everyone at Paragon in finding new employment.

Wow, that was abrupt. I was under the impression Guild Wars franchise alone earns enough profit to run all of NCSoft's games (players claiming bandwidth and maintenance is really expensive were just repeating an old, outdated meme from the early days of MMORPGs), and especially an old one like CoX that has to have paid off the development cost ages ago.

NCSoft must want to shove all their money and hardware off onto Guild Wars 2.
