I don't blame him too much.
He had about 20% of the people saying, "YOU'RE A NOOB! YOU'RE STUPID!" (hyperbole but close
)20% asking random questions, "click on this!" "no, click x, y and then z!"
Then 20% of him actually trying to know how to move, attack, etc...
And he was listening in on what the devs were saying (which was more important to him most likely since he's a reporter and "doesn't care" if they fail the trial so-to-speak).
Sure a big orange circle might be seen under normal circumstances but with him trying to do 10 things at once, he may not have seen it.
Or maybe he did see it but thought it was a bad thing...

One thing I noticed.
When Tyrant EXPLODES, he calls upon the Souls of the Dead.
He uses the power of Tartarus to bind the souls of fallen heroes in the pretty red dream prison.
He says the souls he bound are escaping when he's defeated.
Pendragon, one of his subordinates, is head of the Black Knights. (I think)
Shadowhunter is dead. Diabolique is a spirit.
And Night Ward is a prison for the souls of the dead.
Tyrant is ENSNARING THE SOULS OF THE DEAD to increase his own power. I think Night Ward is going to be the definitive "Tyrant is actually an evil jerk" moment.
So far he's been... Ambiguous. All of the other Praetors? Totally Evil.
Tyrant? Not a lot of visible evil.
Until now. That's pretty visible. I have a feeling we'll finally meet Praetorian Stefan Richter as well. If he's not in the Well, he's in Night Ward.

Considering the time giant time vortex over first ward...and considering you team up with your self to stop an evil version of yourself and also prevent an army of other dimension versions of you from coming across a portal. And considering you explore a world where another version of you killed everyone leaving only ghosts behind bones of themselves and a journal.
I highly doubt Preatoria is even close to being done for.
In fact I personaly am hoping for a more (Fairy Tail-esque[anime]) Finale to the Emporer Cole-Incarnate chapter.
After all as the saying goes, well gun fighters used to say it...there is always someone better who shows up eventualy.
And in a Super Hero world, how can someone who is more powerful, not step in at the end and show off.

"Level-based story progression" simply means that there will be a largely consistent and mostly paradox-free story for any one character levelling from 1 to 50 doing their own level-appropriate content. Any conflicts between stories of particular characters can be dealt with or hand-waved away as needed. We're making up stories about people in colorful costumes beating the crap out of each other in improbable ways, here, not trying to lay down the closest possible approximation of the timeline of the Roman Empire.

Hmm... Sounds to me like Blasters, Scrappers, and Dominators are going to be some happy campers coming out of this.
I wonder how these will work with pets. Unless they straight-up inherit the abilities from you like they do Alpha and Interface, Masterminds are pretty much going to be forced into Support.
...and if they do inherit the abilities from you... Masterminds are going to want Support anyway... hmmmmmm....
Also, I wonder if these toggles have endurance costs. Several of my characters are pretty well pushing the limits of what the endurance bar can do as is :/

It seems that with Night Ward being only levels 30 to 35 that they are leaving room open for at least another zone. Has it occurred to anyone out there that Praetoria may very well be the first place to get hit by The Battalion that we know of? Maybe there will be a coordinated attack between dimensions or Praetoria just eats it first and Primal Earth learns how to defeat them because of the mistakes made in trying to save Praetoria.
