A peak of Titan Weapons in action...

Johnny, you can't hit people with lampposts in the game with super strength because you can't interact with objects in the game. Hurl is the closest approximation of the idea of picking up heavy things and hitting people with them.

Using enviroment as a weapon is cool idea but game engine is not supporting that. I hope they make lamp post looking weapon and then you can write on your background that you found it from somewhere. Actually we can think like titan weapons are some kind of different style of use our superhuman strength.

You're fantasy story is getting more interesting though, now apparently people are using Tankers for farming instead of Brutes because "Let's drop the charade that Tankers are being used as anything other than farm tools by people who can't yet build a good enough Brute. - Johnny_Sniffing_Butane"

On top of this, those same people who are incapable of building a Brute, which requires coming to the forums and performing the incredibly difficult task of copy pasta drawing from any number of SS/FA Brute builds - are actually taking those Tankers onto incarnate trials IN DROVES to earn Judgement powers (on Lambda!!).

Judgement powers, which come into play at best once or twice (if you suck really hard) on an ambush farm map.

The best part?

None of the Tankers I've been running with are FA/SS. Perhaps there is some new farm magic tractor that I don't know about?????

It's as if someone was working on a racing game that didn't really like racing games and so they designed it like a half baked RTS because they really like playing Command and Conquer in their downtime.

.
They let you pick crap up and use it as a weapon in CO..and generally it just doesn't work. The time it takes you to pick up an object and then chuck it is about the same as using two real attacks for no real attack benefit. Honestly if you want something like this for SS why not ask them to change hurl to be like propel and have the object hurled be random instead of just a rock?

Right, but that's a flaw with another game's implementation of environmental weaponization, not with the mechanic/concept itself.

Two reasons:

1) Because that really doesn't do what's being sought. It doesn't let you pick up a car and throw it or improvise with the heavy objects at hand. It's a poor, poor kludge, pretty much as poor of one as Hurl is already.

2) People have asked for that in the past. Many times. It's just not priority for the devs.

But let me tell just one story. Don't take it too seriously.

Let's think you have one favourite radio channel. You love all music they play and you listen that channel years and love about all the music what they play. After the years they suddenly play one horrible piece of music and you think it makes your ears to bleed. Ok it was only one song and that's all. After some time they play it again... Just the same piece that makes you feel really uneasy. So everybody says it's not the new line of radiochannel but you start to think... what if they start to play that kind of music more and more... You hope not but still it makes you feel slightly nervous. What if...
So because titan weapons "reminds you of manga/anime", it's the worst thing ever?

I'm thinking you've never actually read manga, and are just going off people you've seen on forums being retarded naruto fanboys. Or you just don't like it cause it's Asian or something.

Either that or you read Lucky Star and based your judgement off that.

On topic: I'm hoping the set comes out soon, since street justice was a bit disappointing to me.

To be fair GG...CWK has always taunted us with his brain in a jarness so I am not surprised that we all make one.

except that if they were to make environmental weapons as powerful as two attacks, then the attack chain of SS would be...Footstomp, KO BLOW..hit something with environment. Which breaks SS a bit more.

Yeah but CWK has GOOGLY EYES. That's the reason I love, not loathe, the CWK cutscene in Lady Grey (even if I'm speeding) - its just so hilarious.

Well except that Soul Calibur is almost like a JRPG fighting game aesthetically, AND it's a Japanese game too! RPG or not, the Japanese games started the huge weapon craze (not saying they created it, they just made them famous). And of course Soul Calibur took inspiration from all the 1000 huge weapon wielding JRPG (or other kind of japanese games) to create Nightmare and whatshisname (the good version of him in Soul Blade). Final Fantasy IV (II in the US) already had giant weapons in 1991.

True, but it's a bit jarring to see the numbers so clearly represented in-game...

That's because your idea of respecting the genre is unique.

wow, that's...that's something.

This is a MMO with a comic book backdrop, if you try to look at as more than that, you've already failed. Now I will agree that Super Strength being able to tear up the environment for throwing things would be nice, but I'm not going to expect it unless they develop tech for which powers like Hurl, Tremor, etc can identify what kind of environment it's in and the fx show accordingly.
