A peak of Titan Weapons in action...

What about alternate animations?

I would love a set of alternate animations where my character model doesnt touch the swords at all. Instead he could do various mental or spellcaster animations while the weapon, which floats (or gloats ) very close would spin and dance and strike.

Basically they need a psychic / Telekinesis Titanic weapon set of animations, so I can make my Wizard who mentally wields a Black Blade Of Disaster. And my fire armor and fire epic on my Wizard could be my Fire Shield and Fireball spells. Yeah. Psychic Warrior Archmagi Brute for the awesome!

And that aura that drains end from foes? That thing doesn't cost a single eps to run. AND it grants you recovery bonuses for every foe in the aura.

That's frikken awesome, man!!!

Well I won't beat you.

I'm not a fan of shields either. Or rather, I'm a fan of the set, but not how the set was implemented.

The set is fun and awesome. I just know it's fun an awesome.

But has me going "Since when has Shield use been a popular super power?"

I kind of wish there was a powerset which worked like shields but without actually having to use a shield

With you 100% on this. I wish shields were a cosmetic item only, and that you could use the powerset without the shield or use the shield with a different powerset.

Just so everyone knows: Per an announcement during today's Facebook Friday, Titan Weapons will be available for testing on the Training Room as soon as that version of the Paragon Market is brought back online.

Some ATs are more equal than others.

Assault...true, we haven't gotten anything in that vein in a while, but I'm guessing the dom changes are coming with either 21.5 or 22, either way, we know something is in the works. Probably including a new Assault set.

Pet sets, we did just get Demon Summoning with the GR launch, and that was extremely time consuming for the devs. Factor in all of the craziness with the Freedom launch, and I wouldn't expect anything in that category until next year at the earliest, personally.

I just think it's disingenuous to say that they're in a 'melee rut', when clearly they have not only been churning out melee sets, and in fact, 2 of the 3 most recently released powersets were not melee sets.

When you spend years advocating to buff an archetype, and the actual players of that archetype tend to roll their eyes when you post, you probably are in fact doing it wrong.

Gah, true, sorry about that. I'm playing it on a controller which is where my brain had the disconnect. Also it has a single-target hold and slows, so it does controlly things.

There still isn't some sort of weird 'melee rut' with new powersets, though.

I also have to disagree with Titanic Weapons looking "realistic." We have enough realistically-proportioned weapons in the game. The point of having this set is to have absurdly oversized weapons, even if they look impossible to wield. I'm sure there's something to be said about weight balance, but the fact of the matter is I want a sword with a long, thick blade. What's on the picture is more than thick enough, but as it stands right now, the Legacy Broadsword has a longer blade and, therefore, a longer reach.

I maintain that that hilt length is good, but I want to see weapons with longer blades by quite a bit. I also maintain that I want to see a sword with a blade as wide as my character is at the shoulders and as long as my character is tall at least up to the neck, with any hilt beyond that sticking above my character's head. Because that's what the original Buster Sword in that one teaser pic we got months and months ago looked like. It had a much different hilt-to-blade ratio. I can't find the screenshot to comment on it now, but it wasn't anywhere near as close to being 1:1.

I think they look pretty close. I think you're a victim of an optical illusion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertica...ontal_illusion

The majority of said people are quite happy to have a Tractor to finance their other ATs. They don't want to rock the boat, especially if that means the devs casting a critical eye at Brutes and Scrappers. The number of people who play those two ATs greatly overshadow the small number who actually give a damn about Tankers beyond using them. The few who do care have learned long ago to keep their mouth shut or be attacked by the poseurs and the Scrapper/Brute sets.

Oh... You now... since some time around when Zeus's pal, Hephaestus, crafted that nifty shield!

There may be other examples before that too though... Not sure!

*shrug*

I actually think ridiculously oversized weapons work much better in a superhero game than they do in fantasy games or anime. These are characters that actually are supposed to have the superhuman strength to lift a massive weapon and swing it around.

I haven't picked up street justice because I don't play melee characters very often; I suspect I'll end up getting titan weapons first. Probably not when it's first released and everyone is running around with them though.

Or, they sometimes PM me to ask if there's any way for you to not be on their side.

The thing about telling all tankers that you know for a fact that most of them don't care, and you only speak for the few because they won't speak up for themselves, is that the most likely situation is you're wrong, and have simultaneously flipped off most of the people who you claim to represent.

That's pretty much the definition of doing it wrong.

I don't really claim to represent much of anyone. Most of the people who care that Tankers got screwed out of their role, out of Fury, and were made into farm equipment left. They either defected to Brutes when they came blue side or gave up on Tankers period.
That's just common sense.

If you owned a steak house that served terrible steaks and you walked into it on a Friday night and asked the vegetarians at the salad bar (who now make up 90% of the clientele) why they hate the place, they're going to tell you they don't and that the steaks are fine as is.

Well, if you're gonna derail this thread, I'll speak my peace.

I'm a casual player. I don't play a tractor to finance my other ATs; I play a Tank to help my Team. I don't get wrapped around numbers, I don't farm (although sometimes I mob grind, perhaps a bit slower than some ATs). I have fun playing. Period. End of story.

The reason I keep my mouth shut in the Tank forums is because I got tired of being brow-beaten by someone who saw no joy in tanking, but only created joyless posts about all of the flaws of the AT, instead of its benefits. I kept my mouth shut because I was tired of being the casual guy who got drowned out by the diatribe of a poster who elected himself as an advocate of that AT through sheer number of words and posts. I stopped posting there because I was tired of debating posts that advocated buffs to an AT through derision of the very AT for which the poster supposedly advocated.

Johnny, if you're happy playing Brutes, more power to you. But if you're going to continually "advocate" for tanks while simultaneously insulting the very part of the playerbase you're trying to help, then yes, you are indeed doing it wrong, and you've been doing it wrong for years. The only reason I viewed your post despite you being on my ignore list was because, after being on hiatus for a bit (in part due to the above), I wanted to see if you had actually realized that your style of advocation wasn't doing anyone any favors. I'm sad to say that isn't the case.

Frankly, I think Tanks would be better represented by Jack Thompson. At least that guy is more even-keeled.
