Quote:...do you mean Treats? Or is that for the super hard-core players who think the game is too easy. Choose 5 Tricks as a reward and have 15 mobs drop on your head! The Trial also gives a choice of 5 Tricks (the same Tricks you would get Trick or Treating) or the Bats Aura.

Quote:The Halloween pack will be available in the store until November 18th. Which is a month from today. Is one of the rewards for doing the new halloween trial which will be available from the 20th, 2 days after this pack is nolonger available.
Remember people it's limited time only, will be removed from the store on the 18th. -
Oh cool! I got my points for October a week early! I guess I'll save them for when....
...what? Halloween costume pack?!

I'm playing a beam/traps corruptor right now and it's excellent. Lay down traps, pull into them with the gun and just keep zapping. And, since /traps >>> /devices (for me anyway), that made the choice pretty simple!
The husband is playing a beam/rad corr which seems to work well, too. Once the rad debuffs/buffs are in place, not much else to do but zap!
I think the debuffs/buffs available to the corruptor secondaries make for a sturdier feel when playing...I definitely don't feel as fragile as I would playing a blaster. Plus scourge + disintegrate is just fun! -
Quote:Gah, true, sorry about that. I'm playing it on a controller which is where my brain had the disconnect. Also it has a single-target hold and slows, so it does controlly things.Time Manip. is a buff set. NOT a control set.
I can't make no Time Manip./Force Field >.>
There still isn't some sort of weird 'melee rut' with new powersets, though. -
Time Manip is a Control set. With new mechanics.
Assault...true, we haven't gotten anything in that vein in a while, but I'm guessing the dom changes are coming with either 21.5 or 22, either way, we know something is in the works. Probably including a new Assault set.
Pet sets, we did just get Demon Summoning with the GR launch, and that was extremely time consuming for the devs. Factor in all of the craziness with the Freedom launch, and I wouldn't expect anything in that category until next year at the earliest, personally.
I just think it's disingenuous to say that they're in a 'melee rut', when clearly they have not only been churning out melee sets, and in fact, 2 of the 3 most recently released powersets were not melee sets. -

The one that got me this morning was refridgerator, also from the new SSA arc. And yes, it was italicized, making it stand out even more. I twitched a bit...

Quote:This. I actually loved it back when we had the tagging system up and I could search for tags like 'plant/kin', 'fire/fire', etc. I'd get posts with builds that had been tagged as such.Let's say I do a search in this forum for Fire/Fire Tank. I'll get the threads relevant to a fire tank, as well as fire blasters who've mentioned 'tank' in the thread ("Wait for the tank to establish aggro, then etc etc"), fire brutes ("Looking for a fire brute build to tank with"), and so on. What we need are not more forums, but improved search tools.
Maybe bring the tagging system back in a limited form - such as when you make a post, there is a premade list of tags to choose from (all archetypes, all powerset combos, and general tags like 'build advice'). -
Quote:Eh, probably just as many as the people talking of him in hushed tones as the greatest human being that ever walked the earth. Balance, and all that...Anyone want to bet that the trolls are going to have a field day talking crap about a dead man they never knew?

Welcome to City of Heroes!
Re: the global chat channels -- what server do you play on? If you check your server-specific forum (down past the 'For Fun!' section in the Forum dropdown) there should be a sticky thread near the top listing global channels organized for various things: forming task forces, badge hunting, general chat/teaming, etc. -
Wait...the new music isn't pulled straight from the nuTrek movie?
That being said, I do like it. -
Got Beam Rifle and the Origins costume pack this morning...now I have to decide whether to buy the 6-pack of transfers and the extra enhancement trays.

Quote:That could be because I'm the only one in my family that likes Spaceballs. My (admittedly Mel-Brooks-loving) father says it's too "stupid".Down Periscope and Rocketman I can see. Heck I should have put Down Periscope on my list
But, Spaceballs? That's a hard sell, even if many Mel fans see that as the decline of his game, it's still great fun. Heck, I don't think it's any bold statement to say that no Mel Brook's film belongs on a guilty pleasure list. Opinions may vary on Dracula Dead and Loving it, I just happen to know quite a few people that adore it. -
Hmm...
Ishtar (seriously. It was hysterically funny and I love it. "I think something went wrong and now I own a blind camel!")
The Core
Down Periscope
Rocketman (I love Harlan Williams, what can I say)
The Chipmunk Adventure (shut uuuup, I'm a child of the 80s)
Bridget Jones' Diary
Spaceballs
Yeah, I kind of have...eclectic taste. -
Quote:My LCS last year limited us to three. Fortunately, between the hubby and myself we can make that 6!If we're limited to just 1 this year it's going to be a tough choice.
The ones I want:
Avatar: The Last Airbender / Star Wars: Clone Wars
Green Lantern Flashpoint Special
Atomic Robo & Friends
Young Justice / Batman B&B Super Sampler
Misadventures of Adam West #1
The Tick -
Well, I know what I'm doing for my birthday this year... The husband and I will be there!
