There's no sun?
The sun being down is really really helpful for anyone mask hunting in Talos.

I wonder if some dev on Nov 2nd is going to come in, wearing all black and a beret, look over at the folks in charge of those settings, and say:

Hard to see, BAH!!
I agree, having the game be perma-night is a bad idea, even for a short period of time. I RP my main as having delayed sleep phase syndrome, so he hasn't been able to sleep since the Halloween Event started.
Very poor move, devs.

I think it was 2007 when the Halloween event lasted the entire month of October. Not a sun in the sky.

However, as of several issues ago Banished masks do spawn in DA, and anyone can get the badge easily in under an hour sweeping Moth Cemetery. So, the excuse of perpetual darkness being an advantage to badge hunting is no longer valid.
So yeah, I also think it's annoying. I think of Halloween as that special time of year when I don't bother designing or editing costumes because there's no decent light anywhere to judge them by. For the light deprived, I recommend hanging out in Ouroboros. Also, door missions on outdoor maps will be sunny, so work on your arc contacts.
The sun might be back on November 2nd but honestly I wouldn't count on it. The devs have a history of extending holiday events, often way beyond the point of common sense.

What didn't count for some time were the masks in the portal mission to the BP dimension.
The masks spawned there during Issue 2. I hunted them with a friend there for the badge, even before we were sure that it was necessary for Archmage.
They became more widespread in there in later years, but there was always a good area to hunt them around the clock, a small park area on the East side of the zone and the parking lot to the South of it. That area had 5 spawn points that regularly produced a mask. Moth Cemetery used to not have masks, as they were too low in level to spawn there, but that changed at some point, and you do see masks in that area of the zone now.
