Thinking something to match our staff shirts .

Fun trivia for the new kids - While Dark Astoria is and always has been full of Banished, for many years mask bosses did not spawn in the wild - only the tiki bosses, who don't count toward the badge.

However, as of several issues ago Banished masks do spawn in DA, and anyone can get the badge easily in under an hour sweeping Moth Cemetery. So, the excuse of perpetual darkness being an advantage to badge hunting is no longer valid.

So yeah, I also think it's annoying. I think of Halloween as that special time of year when I don't bother designing or editing costumes because there's no decent light anywhere to judge them by. For the light deprived, I recommend hanging out in Ouroboros. Also, door missions on outdoor maps will be sunny, so work on your arc contacts.

The sun might be back on November 2nd but honestly I wouldn't count on it. The devs have a history of extending holiday events, often way beyond the point of common sense.
No, I got the mask badge first year badges came out by hunting in DA...however...there were only one or two spots in DA that spawned them and it was a really slow rate...took me a month

Love the Halloween event, but I'm sure wishing for the sun back.

My old eyes aren't what they used to be and I'm catching myself leaning forward a lot to get a better look at the dark screen.

I'd be perfectly happy if they'd just make the day/night cycle match the real life cycle for the weeks of Halloween. That'd give players both day and night and they could choose which ambiance fits them best.

Another idea would be to gradually make the 'night' cycles last longer and long as the days of Halloween progress, culminating in full on dark for a couple or 3 days before Halloween until the end of the holiday. More of a creepy build up kinda thing.

Mostly. <.<

'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.

Play in more missions. No worry about the sun or moon or what have you

Yes, it is. The Pirate Ghosts in Port Oakes only spawn at night... as do certain Council enemies in Striga... as well as Ghosts in Croatoa... same with Vahzilok in Faultline (though that one was altered not that long ago).

Well, I guess I just have to respectfully disagree. I love the Eternal Night component of Halloween, definitely adds to the ambiance, and, since I like the nighttime, it's nice to not have everything all over-bright all the time.

As far as costumes go? I have several that look better at night, namely those that use Bioluminescent pieces.

I just readjust my gamma to a lighter setting and keep it moving...?

Where to find me after the end:

LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

Might also check your graphics settings. Yes, the Sun is gone for the duration, but it's hardly dark enough to make it difficult to see, at least at my end. The general event is no darker than the normal night cycle the game has always had, though the Banner "invasion" can be very... gray... at times, especially in Grandville.

Part of the issue is, last I checked, in those zones most of the bosses that spawn for BP are usually 25+ and the masks outside of portal Corp are 20-24 last I saw
They changed the level range for masks a while back. They go up to at least 29 in world spawns now.

Still makes several badges EASIER to get, ergo it is still an advantage.

Don't like the darkness in game? Go for a walk outside in the real world.

So players that can only play the game during daylight hours get screwed during the Halloween event because there would never be any night cycle for them to go after the previously mentioned NPC's that only spawn at night?

How is that a good thing?

Oh and just out of curiosity, which real life day/night schedule would you propose the game uses since this game has players worldwide and it's always day or night somewhere.

So who gets screwed in addition to the daytime players? The Europeans, the Aussies, or the NA players?

Just something to think about.

But.. there's this bright THING outside. It takes half a day or so to get across the sky, and it BURNS!

And the other half of the day you can't see the stars!

Not to mention all those people. Ugh. /unsigned

You know, I ctually found it easier to mask hunt in Talos with the daylight triggering, than running all around DA, trying to find them in small groups for most times I've gone mask hunting.

That said...to the OP...NO! It's tradition! And I like it! /unsigned Let us keep our dark days!

If I had my way, the Halloween event would last the entire month long, and be night the entire time.

As I recall, the event has *already* been shortened due to players hating the night.

Please let those of us who love this event have our shamefully short two weeks of night. You get the other 50 weeks of the year just how you want it, so no cause for complaint there - as far as I can see.

If you can't see anything during the night in this game, you need a better computer.
