Quote:More like Walt Simonson Day. I support any and all uses of his Thor stories for Marvel adaptations. Best version of Thor and Asgard ever.Looks like today is Asgard Day in the Marvel Universe on Disney XD.
Ultimate Spider-Man: Thor arrives for a guest spot. Yea, verily!
Avengers: Beta Ray Bill!
Young Justice: I saw that golem heading toward the nuclear plant and thought we were going to get YJ Brimstone for a bit. -
They'd already signed the death warrant for the show, ordering only 13 episodes for next season, then scheduling it for Fridays alongside Whitney, which is about as bad of a fit as there is.
#84episodesanddone is a more realistic tag at this point.
On a personal note, the last several episodes leading up to the finale were not so great this season. Themed episodes worked for Christmas specials, but too many in a row at the end of the season for no good reason was jarring. -
They have 1 reason to stop showing King of the Hill: To please you and what appears to be a minority of their viewers, based on ratings.
They have 259 reasons to keep running it: The size of the catalog of episodes to run. King of the Hill is the show with the least amount of rerun burnout from the 2 episodes per weeknight format that they've been using for the last 2 years. Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen have grown so stale from repeated reruns in that format, while King of the Hill has run through all of their episodes maybe 4 times.
To sum up: Get over it or watch something else for that hour, because King of the Hill isn't going anywhere. -
Quote:It's certainly possible, but I'd put my money elsewhere.Nobody is noticing my "even if he doesn't realize it" part of my quote. I for one could see him volunteer to get brainwashed so "The Light" would accept him. Sort of a twist on what was done to Red Arrow. Miss M does the reprogramming, Robin/Nightwing tells the JL Kaldur 'Ahm flipped sides and joins up with Black Manta. Superboy not happy about all the mind messing (due to his own history) including what could be the memory of Aquagirl dieing then dumps Miss M.
They realize it may take years for the other side to trust him. Therefore, long con.
My personal suspicion is that what we've heard of in bits is all connected. Ocean Master goes down in disgrace in an operation that gets Tula killed (poor girl is doomed in every continuity) which Black Manta then uses as a means to flip his son by playing it as the League and the team being responsible, building on his suspicion of them by revealing their own relationship, and then using the whole scenario to take Ocean Master's place with the Light. I guess that Black Manta is the one playing the long con in this scenario.
I'd bet that Aqualad flips back before the season ends.
I think they powered her up a bit, really. Able to stand and fight Hulk? As Binary, perhaps, but traditional Ms. Marvel strength is more in the Spider-Man range or so. -
The missing 16 hours included a trip to Rimbor, which, 1000 years hence, is the homeworld of Ultra Boy. Wonder if they ran into an ultra-energy space whale?
Nice developments on Beast Boy's backstory, and the Superboy/Miss Martian relationship. Right now it looks like Superboy broke it off in a case of chronic martyrdom, but there's a hint that there's more to it than that, and that Beast Boy still holds out hope for them to reconcile, given that he was trying to play matchmaker. -
I expected the Invasion part to be more directly tied to Darkseid, since his involvement with the Light was pretty much the last of the plot threads from before the season 1 finale to be left hanging. I know he's there in the background, though, since G. Gordon Godfrey is his henchman Glorious Godfrey in regular continuity.
I imagine we'll be getting a lot of exposition and flashbacks to fill in the gap. Not sure how I feel about it, but I have a decent amount of faith in Weisman to handle it well, given time. First on the list will likely be what became of Superboy and Miss Martian's romance, since they're on Zeta team.
BTW, Rann is pronounced like "ran"? I always pronounced it with an "ah" sound. The things you learn that you were wrong about for decades.... -
Quote:Yeah, that's my fault for not watching through the crunched credits last week to see the "This Week..." preview that's actually talking about next week.Green Lantern - We are introduced to the Star Sapphire Corps with the power of wuv. And Carol does show up.
Also, you can see the real difference in focus on female form between different animators ostensibly targeting the same age group here. Green Lantern has CGI rendering of some fairly skimpy female costumes, and we get some posterior shots, but they're nowhere near the *ahem* loving detail that has been used for Black Widow's (for example) backside over in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Quote:DC Nation shorts - Funny as usual. Liked Mad's Teen Titanic.
Edit: Added a little commentary on art style and the female form. -
I don't really have a problem with Superman revealing his identity to Superboy at that point, since he should be feeling both gratitude for having been freed and shame at having put off talking to him for 6 months.
The rest of the show, however, went way too fast.
Aqualad: "Good thing all of these people we helped over this season were able to come up with this antidote/vaccine for us. Too bad we didn't have time to show any of it happening."
There's a whole Star Sapphire Corps in the comics now, so it might not be Carol in next week's episode.
The good thing is that I appear to have been wrong in my pessimism, and we're getting more than 8 episodes of Green Lantern before hiatus, so that's good. My new bet is 13. -
It actually started last weekend. This Green Lantern episode, like the one last week, is not really new, either. These first two episodes were run as an hour-long special in November. The first premiere GL episode in the timeslot will be next week's.
Young Justice was great. I might be a bit biased from still owning the post-Crisis Flash #1, on which a decent chunk of the plot of this episode is based. Wally West, who moves at about the speed of sound running a heart across the country, even getting briefly delayed by Vandal Savage. That book didn't really get good until Mark Waid took over, but it had its moments. I'm not certain if it's a coincidence or a deliberate inversion, but Wally on YJ just recovered from an arm injury before this story while Wally in Flash #1 injured his arm during the fight with Vandal Savage.
From the previews, it looks like Rocket will be joining the team very soon. -
Quote:The stamp in the corner said Dakota City, so I assume that was Rocket, who was Icon's sidekick in that Milestone comic.Well, I'm not used to starting these threads
I didn't mention GL because it was a repeat although I'm really looking forward to the new episodes. I don't watch Star Wars either, just can't get into it.
But Yeah, I was wondering the same thing about the mystery girl. I also was thinking possibly Raven because of the dark energy she was using but I don't think they would change her look that much. And since YJ has been following the path of having the cameos be by virtually unknown DC heroes (a policy which I absolutely love) I figure they probably used somebody I just don't recognize.
High School German class paid off. The assembled mystics said, "We are the pipers of Hamelin." at the beginning of the episode. Appropriate.
I hate to be the harbinger of doom, but did you notice that they held out the last 8 episodes of season 1 of YJ to premiere alongside GL? My pattern-recognition sense tells me that GL gets an 8 episode run, then a hiatus of some amount before new episodes. -
Quote:It looks like they've put it on another hiatus. Nebulous airdates of 2012 for the remaining eight episodes, which Weisman confirms are done and ready to air. Not such a bad move, really. Thanksgiving through New Years is a hectic time for most, and premieres in that period are likely wasted, not getting the viewers they could at pretty much any other time of the year.So what's up with Young Justice? Is the season over or what? Or are they pulling a Firefly and bumping it for any random thing?
Apparently, this was it for season one, but the series has been picked up for another. Who knows when that will debut. They're starting over from episode one tonight, so it's a good time to catch up for those that have missed it. It's better than the original in every way, in my opinion. -
Quote:Brittany Murphy wasn't a main voice actor, and Luanne wasn't a main character, at least not in the latter half of the series. You can tell this because, unlike anyone in the main cast, her character was allowed to have actual changes in her status quo after season six. That was around the time that Mike Judge stopped being the main story guy, and the showrunners after him effectively halted all progression on the main cast. They even did mostly without her for a couple of seasons when she was the "it girl" of Hollywood. If you mean why is the show back I think I have a fair idea. Mike's efforts after the cancelation of King of the Hill have mor eor less fallen out of favor or failed completly, and as a relaunch of KOH is out of the question with the passing of one of the main voiceactors I can see how going back to what gave him his start with more experinece and a waiting fanbase would seem like a sure bet for a steady paycheck.
I'd say that King of the Hill would be last on the list of properties that Mike Judge would want to revive because of the way that Fox pushed him out of the creative lead on the series. I have doubts that he would even want to write for the stuck-in-limbo characters that he had created and developed over the first few seasons now. -
It probably would in the sense that any reorganization does. It would make us have to rebuild all of our current costumes in order to make even the slightest changes, since everything would be in a different place. It might even be a bit worse than that, assuming that everything new would require a rebuild to put it in its proper order, and thus forcing us to do the same with every new addition. That being said, it's become a rather regular occurrence to have to rebuild all of our costumes as it is, so what would the real difference be?

Quote:They changed the level range for masks a while back. They go up to at least 29 in world spawns now. Also Croatoa ghosts.
Part of the issue is, last I checked, in those zones most of the bosses that spawn for BP are usually 25+ and the masks outside of portal Corp are 20-24 last I saw
-
The masks spawned there during Issue 2. I hunted them with a friend there for the badge, even before we were sure that it was necessary for Archmage.
They became more widespread in there in later years, but there was always a good area to hunt them around the clock, a small park area on the East side of the zone and the parking lot to the South of it. That area had 5 spawn points that regularly produced a mask. Moth Cemetery used to not have masks, as they were too low in level to spawn there, but that changed at some point, and you do see masks in that area of the zone now. -
Oh, one other thought I had while watching:
Oh, neat. Rob Dyrdek is ripping off Daniel Tosh. -
Well, that wasn't the best episode I've ever seen, but it's the first full episode of anything that I've watched on MTV in about 9 years.
-
DC's use of Apokolips as the name of Darkseid's world predates Marvel's villain Apocalypse by about 15 years. I don't know for certain why Kirby chose the deliberate misspelling, but I assume that it just looked cooler to him.
-
Only if we can get a two-fingered salute emote to use against the Longbow. A bit of irony there, I know.

Quote:If a Vig is on the team and Ouros out, make sure they know to hit FF from Ouro. That puts them right across from the Vanguard DPO in FF, so they can get back to Grandville fairly quickly.Actually, we had just this situation occur on a Master run I was on. The vigilante in question did indeed go to blue Ouro, but was not kicked from the team. We just had to wait while he worked his way back to the mission. So this tactic can still be used by Vigilantes, unless for some reason this has changed in Issues 20.5 or 21.

Quote:Unless they're changed to zero Emp merits, they'll remain too high. We got 12 new Lore trees for free, why should these new trees be any different? These are still Beta numbers - they can be changed based on player feedback.
Quote:I still don't understand this. Is it 15 Empyreans on top of unlocking the slots through iXP in the trials? People keep telling me that unlocking, say, your Destiny slot gives you some of the Destiny powers, but then you have to pay 15 Empyreans to unlock these more "epic" powers. Are they more powerful? Is it 15 Empyreans for each one?
Even if you already have each slot unlocked, you have to pay 15 Emp merits for each of these trees. They're basically making you pay to fit your concept better, if these trees do that for you.
Edit: The unlock of these new trees is on top of unlocking the slot through iXP, which is still required for each slot as a whole.
Further Edit: Upon further review, most things are neutral to toxic, with only a few AVs having resists. It's zombie types that resist both psi and toxic heavily, not robots. It still doesn't change the fact that 1/2 strength for toxic DoT is unnecessary when the fire, energy and negative energy all are higher and are barely resisted by mobs, too. -
Oh, it's pretty easy to fail the It's Alive badge. Just have some combination of low DPS or low mitigation. You can come by these by having a lack of support ATs, a bunch of characters with Psi or Negative damage, which I'm pretty certain the Abomination resists pretty well, or a good number of characters at the low end of the level range with few slots and DO strength enhancement or thereabouts.

Quote:What you suspect is exactly how it works, but was also how it worked last year.Did you get the badge this Halloween or last year? The problem I have been having is I don't get the choice as a hero to sell the Malleus Mundi. Conversely when I run the Halloween tip mission on my villain no option to turn the Malleus Mundi in is given only tosell it.
As for my rogue I earned the Arrivste badge today (again only choice) and tomorrow I will convert to pure hero and see what happens. If no automatic change I will runt the tip mission and see what choices are offered.
I suspect that due to the release of Going Rogue and the whole alignment change ability something has changed with this badge but I have no proof thus far.
I also suspect the only way for a hero to get the Arriviste badge is to run the grand loop from hero to villain grab the badge and return to hero.
Will keep you folks posted.
Heroes and Vigilantes can only Earn Trusting. Villains and Rogues can only earn Arriviste. When you switch, the badge itself doesn't change, but, if you make the switch to the other side while the tip is still dropping, you can get the one for the other side and earn the other badge, replacing the one that you earned on the other side.
Nothing has changed about these, and Going Rogue and the alignment system couldn't have changed them since those were both released before the Halloween event last year. Here's a thread from last year's Halloween Event where we discussed this. -
Oh, they're definitely still backwards. It's just that, in actual speech, she pronounced some of the vowels oddly and sometimes the words ran together. I guess that could explain why less people get what her spells are in-universe, since it isn't as glaringly obvious as reading them on a page.
