Young Justice: Nicely done plan to free the JL, though it felt a little rushed. I'd have liked to see this stretched out into a 2-parter.

Legend of Korra: So, the baddie can take away bending like Aang did to Ozai. That's disturbing.

Superman giving away his secret ident to Clone Boy was a bit rushed, I'd say.

I would say not so much take away as use acupressure to block the chi flow. Kind of like nerve strikes.

And I see Korra still hasn't learned her lesson about tearing up city streets.

Thundercats - Sad kitten tales.

Green Lantern - More yellow crystals, Kilowog got a girlfriend and next week Star Sapphire (how did Carol get out there?).

Young Justice - Well everyone is pairing off after saving the day. Happy New Years. Agreed, too fast of a resolution.

Legend of Korra - Awww, sleep cute. Just waiting for Avatar Mode getting triggered in Korra. Maybe if she gets deep enough into trouble.

I don't really have a problem with Superman revealing his identity to Superboy at that point, since he should be feeling both gratitude for having been freed and shame at having put off talking to him for 6 months.

The rest of the show, however, went way too fast.

Aqualad: "Good thing all of these people we helped over this season were able to come up with this antidote/vaccine for us. Too bad we didn't have time to show any of it happening."

There's a whole Star Sapphire Corps in the comics now, so it might not be Carol in next week's episode.

The good thing is that I appear to have been wrong in my pessimism, and we're getting more than 8 episodes of Green Lantern before hiatus, so that's good. My new bet is 13.

There's a quote in the preview that was something like "You let me think you were dead all this time". Of course the whole thing may end up being yet another "dream" sequence.

His minions can do that, but the impression the episode gave was that Aman could remove bending permanently. If that's the case, I'd say he has to be a bender himself.

Right, the minions can do the Ty Lee chi-blocking martial arts, and like hers, the effects are temporary. Aman can take away bending permanently, and his method was even similar to Aang's.

Avengers: Hell yeah! Carol Danvers makes her first appearance as Ms. Marvel! And she kicks Ronin the Accuser's butt! And she officially joins the Avengers!

And to top it all off, she's voiced by FemShep!

Well, Amman CLAIMS he can take bending away permanently - we have no evidence that it IS permanent so far. Comparing what he did to the effort Aang went through to take it away from one guy, I would easily accept that he is feeding the crowd a partial line of bull.

Jennifer Hale voiced her in her 1st appearance in Season 1, so I'm glad she's back as Carol for season 2.

It could be that Amman is doing a master chi technique to the brain. All powers originate in the brain according to some stories and Avatar can be the same as those stories like Heroes as far as where powers originate. If Amman was a secret Fire or Water Bender, then he could do a lobotomy on benders. I think Amman is some bender that learned a new type of bending. After all, there is at least three bending techniques that aren't the classical four, blood, metal, and swamp.

Mmm, hell of a way to lose a parent but at least we learn only one is gone. Possibly they'll meet up in a future episode. Seems the orphans have all got backstory development so far; just Cheetara's origin left to catch up on.

It's also good they're doing a Farscape and having this and the last episode happening sorta side-by-side taking the characters as they come rather than cramming them all in to every episode. It's nice to see the dynamics between other characters without the leads.

YJ, nice mystery as to what the 6 did during the 16 hours they were under control...

Martian Manhunter
Superman
Batman
Green Lantern (John Stewart)
Hawkwoman
Wonder Woman

Notice that

1) 4 are either aliens or deal with Space Aliens (MM, HW, Supes and GL)
2) The 3 most powerful members of the league (WW, Supes, and MM)
3)Why Batman is 1 of the 6 is unknown.

This will probably be revealed next season. Can't Wait. Took a while to find it's voice but it turned into something really special.

Sure, he could be lying. We'll just need to keep an eye on Lighting Bolt Zolt!

What he did looked suspiciously close to the Spiritbending Aang did to Ozai, though.

Definite similarities - which is why I said he might be feeding them a partial line of bull. He could be able to suppress bending a lot longer than the chi techniques that prevented bending but the only way to tell if it is truly permanent is to see where the series goes.

The real mystery of course is what his REAL goal is - there are far to many benders the world over and far to many of the societies rely on bending to exist for one man to remove it all. I doubt the northern water tribe would live as well as they do without water bending and I can't see anyone being willing to remove the bending from water healers, so I suspect his goals are a lot more sinister than just 'making the world a safe place for non-benders'.

Well the police force in Republic City seems to rely entirely on metal bending. Add to that the various bending criminal gangs, stripping bending from them all opens up organized crime to nonbenders.

I always assume the goal in "Getting rid of all X" is so that the villain (or hero?) can be the only one with X on Earth/whatever planet we happen to be on. I'm almost positive Amon is a bender, and a very powerful one. If he gets rid of the competition (including the Avatar) he can rule as a god.

My guess is that Amon is in league with the Spirits. My guess specifically is he is involved with Koh the Facestealer somehow. He was taught Spirit Bending to remove bending and make people rise up against the Avatar and Benders so that the Spirits can either attack the real world, or to punish Benders for straying so far from their roots and treating bending so frivolously now. I just don't think Amon is the real big bad, something else is pulling the strings if only because he would need some sort of Ancient Spirit to teach him Spirit Bending.
