I would say that this set-up moves Arachnos to the realm of realistic threat. Now we just get told that they control everything and we should be really, really scared of them, but the missions and content really fly in the face of that assumption and it raises questions. We go against them on so many occasions, like Sam said, why do they put up with it? The Project Destiny excuse only carries so much weight. Coming from this angle, it would make more sense, they would have to let you become more of a threat to warrant the man power to deal with you. One thing that could be done as well is to increase Arachnos attacks or recruitment into Paragon, that could help keep Arachnos as a more proactive enemy group.
  2. I love it. Just the whole idea. Recluse and his empire crumbling around him. His greatest enemy dead at the hands of some two-bit magic thief, and his own power made trivial by the power that so many now wield as Incarnates. The story opportunities would be incredible. Now instead of Arachnos contacts just assuming that you want to be their whipping boy, they could have to beg our villains to help them hang onto what ever bit of control they have left in the isles. Maybe they could work in some Gold Side style choices, be loyal to Arachnos, or backstab them as much as possible.

    Man of Steel

I think my biggest problem with Superman has always been that I just don't believe there really is a Clark Kent. The Kill Bill speech on Superman and Clark has always been the best description of Superman I can think of. I just always see aspects in the stories that I feel prove the validity of that description. I think that's the more personal block I have against Supes. Though I did love some of his scenes throughout the animated series. The episode in Justice League when they're were trapped in their nightmares, and he was worried that his powers would never stop growing, and he'd lose control. I would love some aspects of that to be used more, Clark being afraid of his strength, not so completely in control of his powers. The World of Cardboard speech was pretty cool too.
  4. No, just flat out no. The Battalion and all I-trials hereafter should have some entry level trials, for new Incarnates and fresh 50's, and then increasing difficulties that require more level shifts. Now I'm not against the Battalion getting even higher levels than we've seen, but these should not be set up in a way to force grinding the Praetorian Trials or DA just to get to the new content.

It was a room full of spiders. I call that its own security system. If a room full of spiders doesn't keep someone out than nothing will. As for the liquid nitrogen, it was being led into the building, so I assume it was meant for cooling some massive equipment in the building. Or maybe that's what fed the fire system, so Osborn could just flood the building with the stuff and kill everyone if he felt it necessary.
  6. Wow, I really didn't like the ending on Korra at all. The plot holes, and the fact that Team Avatar accomplished nothing themselves, General Iroh was awesome, but mostly a pointless addition late in the game. So, we're supposed to sympathize with Tarlokk now, even though all of his actions throughout the series contradicted the kind of person he was in that flashback. The exposition dump and the lackluster reveal of who Amon really was just disappointed me. How does blood bending mimic spirit bending exactly? We got that info dump, but got a nice little hand wave on that, because Amon was the most super-duper blood bender evar.

I knew they wouldn't leave her without her bending at the end. Asami not being a mole was nice I suppose, but they should ave handled her and Mako's relationship a bit better, at least have Asami encourage Mako to go to Korra when Katara said there was nothing she could do, give some damn closure there.

How did Yakone get away after Aang took away his bending and had him locked up on the street? Was Toph's police force either so corrupt or incompetent that they left one of the most dangerous men in the city just leave?

All in all, the finale on this season didn't do it for me. It was a great build up to it, and I was excited, but got a resounding meh.

Whatever little batteries that thing was packing couldn't have pushed the current that far. Any one standing right beside her may have been in some trouble, but the charge wouldn't have been able to make it much further. We could probably also assume they have some grounding system built into the frame so that when the metal airships get hit by lightning they don't just fry all the people onboard.

  9. I was thinking Amon was Koh almost as soon as he showed up, for a lot of the same reasons as listed above, but not just because of a failing on Korra's part, but a failing on Benders. I figured it was Koh leading some sort of attack on the human world because he felt that Benders were squandering their talents and arts. Though I'm guessing that Amon is still somewhat human, because the Bloodbending did make him slow down for like a second before he took out Tarlok. My hope is that with the Season finale Amon gets revealed as some sort of spirit, and the next part of the season is a wind up to an all out war with the spirit world.

This, one thousand times this^ I would roll a toon that had a super guitar in a heartbeat. Extra points if there's a combo set up that attack chains can play complete songs and have added effects.

I thought she called him Russell, not sure on that. The CWK is her minion, he just doesn't know it, she's been controlling him for years, keeping heroes off his back. I wouldn't doubt it if Penny had something to pushing Blue Steel into killing the CWK. That's why Blue Steel was never made to pay for the blatant murder of someone, they know he was controlled! This conspiracy goes deeper than we all can fathom! Granted Penny would have probably been like 10 at the time, but I'm sure it was a very nefarious 10!

That would almost work, if not for the fact the Talons believe no one is innocent, coming up with arbitrary reasons to judge everyone at some point. And just because the thoughts of death, blood, and vengeance weren't directed at her doesn't mean they she wouldn't be disturbed by them. Penny is a villainess, playing us all for fools.
  12. Played both sides now, and I'm just not feeling Blueside. I don't care for Penny, overall as a character. And I really have to wonder about her after playing the Redside arc. We force a fortunata to read Clamor's mind and she's terrified. She says their thoughts were beyond sadism. Penny just hops right in and doesn't seem bothered at all. Now I'll just go ahead and circumvent the obvious answer to this, Penny is much more powerful and can block out the thoughts better than a low-level Fortunata could, but even is she could keep the thoughts out of her mind, she would still see them and presumably be disturbed, but no. This made it all fall into place. The Signature story arcs were all Penny's evil plan!

It explains everything! The Phalanx were acting like idiots throughout the first one, Penny was affecting them. Darrin Wade as the big villain, nope Penny was controlling him. She got rid of the two members on the Phalanx that she couldn't completely control, Psyche and States. Now she's making sure that they keep you close by, so she can keep an eye on you and make sure her plans are messed up. She's targeting Manticore at the moment because after Psyche's death, Sis gave Manti the power to resist Penny! Penny is clearly making a power play! She's a villain!
  13. I'm really disappointed in Thundercats and the emotional whip-lash writing its using. They're just plowing through this story lines and giving no real progression. Pumyra's sudden change of heart was just the earliest example, they're just not putting any effort into giving reasons for them, it's just like the script says at time mark 20:53 Pumyra isn't angry with Lion-o anymore.

With Korra, I'm liking the progression with this, each episode feels like a step forward. I like how they're chiseling away at Korra's spoiled attitude. Mako's girlfriend isn't going to last, I think he and Korra will end up together as a sorry to the Zutara fans and how bad they got trolled in the last series. Their relationship is just playing out like Aang and Katara. Obvious there's some connection there in the beginning, throw in some random relationships along the way to have the jealous angle, and eventually they get together. I liked Amon's reasoning for not just taking away Korra's bending too, it actually made sense to me, none of this, I will face you at your best nonsense.
  14. I was surprised by the time skip, doesn't really feel like Young Justice anymore. At least not the way they set it up originally. I'm wondering if the Reach are going to play a part in this as well though. Those aliens freaked out and ran when they saw Blue Beetle and they played at the fact that the team doesn't realize he talks with his suit or that it's alien tech.

My guess is that Amon is in league with the Spirits. My guess specifically is he is involved with Koh the Facestealer somehow. He was taught Spirit Bending to remove bending and make people rise up against the Avatar and Benders so that the Spirits can either attack the real world, or to punish Benders for straying so far from their roots and treating bending so frivolously now. I just don't think Amon is the real big bad, something else is pulling the strings if only because he would need some sort of Ancient Spirit to teach him Spirit Bending.

  17. The Drudges look awesome and I want those face options for my characters nao! Honestly for Praetoria, I'm just over it. I still play the new arcs, and the writing is great, the 1-20 runs have some great character choices, but FW will just ignore a lot of the choices you could have made, will make your villain act completely out of character in the official story, but let you do some despicable things in repeatable mishes. I hope for better in Night Ward, but I'm not holding my breath. The devs are still taking baby steps in expanding co-op content beyond the Hero flavor.

Which would leave room for this character. Am I right about that though?
If the valentine tips were to be believed, He and Lady Jane never consummated their relationship. More of a feelings left unspoken situation.
  20. That is an amazing base. I suppose that'll be the catch with a legacy system, it been around long enough that people do awesome things like that, but makes edits and updates so difficult.

Maybe they could grandfather a system, that keeps the old bases around but works all new bases under an updated system that lets the players choose if they want to clear things and start with a new base under the new system.

Well, maybe in COH2 lol. Still that is an insane base, is there a building inside of the base?

Bases will be getting few new things, and few and far between. The system is a legacy system, and they have to reverse engineer it. Any time they've tried, internally, to force something into it, things have broken in horrible ways.

So yes, it sucks that base loving doesn't happen often. But there is a damned good reason why.
And it got me thinking. Obviously this is a hypothetical situation, but if the Devs gave us plenty of warning, reimbursed the prestige to Supergroups, and did the best they could to minimize loss to the player base, would you be ok if they nuked the current Base system and replaced it from the ground up? Code it so that base updates would be easier to do in each issue and have less catastrophic results.

Now I'm not saying the Devs should do this, as I have no idea how massive the workload to do this would be or how worthwhile it would be to do it in the long run, but more how would you react? I'm somewhat torn on it. If we got more regular and reliable updates to the base, maybe even some new features and such, I would be all right with it. I know there would be some loss that the playerbase would have to take, salvage used for personal items, and probably some salvage hoarded away, but I would be for it if it could mean better base updates. What do you think?
  22. I'd guess this will be a no. Like people have said, there's a story reason for the this, besides devs don't upgrade old npc's they kill them off and bring hipper and cooler looking npc's, see Sister Psyche/Penny.

I was doing this mish with one character, we attacked the spawn that was guarding the LT, he got caught up in some splash damage, and the Fake Nemesis got knocked off the rail. I forget about him and assume we're good to go. I turn to the LT in time to see a force bolt hit him square in the chest, crumple him and knock him over the rail and kill him. Not even sure how the Fake Nemesis was able to target the guy yet since he wasn't even attached to me yet. I had a pretty good chuckle over it though, that Fake Nemesis knew he was beat and wasn't going to give me the victory though.

Honestly, I think that need to give us MM commands for any escort like this. So that way we can pull them back or keep the idiots out of the fights. Or control them to some extent.
  24. Clown Summoning would definitely get me to roll a new MM more than critters.
  25. Scirocco will probably never be redeemed, and my thoughts on why are is his function as a plot device. Scirocco is the only villain that can be dropped into these missions that would actually bother talking to you. He's a vehicle for exposition.

He was the one in DA because it's co-op and he's the only villain that wouldn't try to kill you on sight. He's in the SSA because they wanted a more co-op feel there. So I doubt we'll ever see an SSA about his redemption because he's the only tool the writers have at the moment to fill this role.

Now what I would like to see if some info on this so-called fate to do evil nonsense. I want specifics on this. Is he unable to do good? Will things always go wrong? Is there some price for him doing good deeds? If he saves someone does a sand storm destroy a village somewhere to compensate? What is this so-called curse?

Also the next SSA seems to have some focus on Penny apparently, it had leaked on beta a while back, but I would still like to get some more specifics on Scirocco back story and curse.
