There are only three alternatives. It thinks were either a threat, food, or a mate. Its gonna either kill us, eat us, or hump us.

Want this so badly. We know it's possible, too, because Desdemona has one on the Underground trial. Please apply to all escorts that cause mission failure on death!

there are some cases where this wouldnt help, specifically RWZ mishs with general brawls a lot who thinks he has to pistol whip a spawn of 8 fake nemesis, even with buffs he would get near 1 shotted from that

theres another mish leading up to that one too which you have to rescue a nemesis LT and he likes to run up to spawns of 8 fake nemesis too again nearly 1 shotted

the idea though isnt bad, but the problem more so lies in extremely weak NPCs with suicidal tendacies

Even in those cases it'd be better than nothing, if only to target the NPCs more easily.

I was doing this mish with one character, we attacked the spawn that was guarding the LT, he got caught up in some splash damage, and the Fake Nemesis got knocked off the rail. I forget about him and assume we're good to go. I turn to the LT in time to see a force bolt hit him square in the chest, crumple him and knock him over the rail and kill him. Not even sure how the Fake Nemesis was able to target the guy yet since he wasn't even attached to me yet. I had a pretty good chuckle over it though, that Fake Nemesis knew he was beat and wasn't going to give me the victory though.

Honestly, I think that need to give us MM commands for any escort like this. So that way we can pull them back or keep the idiots out of the fights. Or control them to some extent.

I'm 100% behind this. Too often I've been on teams that have failed missions that everyone thought was going smoothly until the last second.

We've asked so many times, I don't know why we still don't have this. It seems like a no-brainer.

I failed a tip mission -- a TIP MISSION -- twice yesterday because I couldn't keep track of Overdrive.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

That would be amazing but how would it work on teams? Command is given to whichever player the NPC is presently following? Don't get me wrong, I'd love that, but it sounds like it could be very ugly to program... I'd honestly be happy with a trial-style HP bar that everyone in the group can see and use to target the NPC for healing and buffs. I really do think that alone would make babysitting them much easier.

Heck, even when the NPC isn't mission-critical it'd be amazing, speaking as a player of low-damage support casters. Say what you will about defenders and controllers, but they are by design not solo artists, and soloing can get tedious... I welcome missions where I have an NPC to use my buff powers on. I propose all combat-capable NPCs with the follow AI should a) be made buffable (I have seen some that inexplicably aren't), and b) be given a health bar through which I can easily target them. Even tanks could make some use of this by targeting through an NPC ally when using Taunt, to better keep mobs off of him.

/signed. Anyone who's played a pet heavy archtype like a Mastermind knows how important that trackable health bar is for keeping track of the less-than-brilliant pet AI. Having that button to quickly heal, buff, and otherwise track them down is a godsend for MM's and would be incredibly useful for the suicidal mission additions.

Why not make it so that Escorts are temporary pet powers? You could pass them off to another player, monitor thrir health, and issue commands that way.

Just be happy with a health bar, most Auto attack and or just follow you

Well, yeah. Think of the taunt as "HEY, GET BACK HERE, MORON!"

If nothing else, being able to make fun of them after they go and get themselves killed might take some of the edge off failing the mission.
