Quote:Cut out the midichlorian thing all together because it weakens the whole force concept in one truly significant way. That if anyone has the insight, instinct, and is so in tune with the Universe, than they have the possibility to be able to use the Force like any Jedi. The reason only Jedi and Sith are able to use it, is that they are the ones who understand how the Universe truly works.Only reasons why I'd want the 6 movies rebooted and redone would be:
8. I understand the purpose of midichlorians as a plot device to show Anakin's power potential but either explain them far better or just remove them.
Once he introduced MidiChlorians, that whole thing became mute, you just needed a high midichlorian level to be able to use the force. IMO it weakened the concept significantly. -
Bringing back Vader, while all good for nostalgia, will literally kill the franchise for me and a I think, a lot of other people.
For a basic plot having it post RotJ makes sense. In an interesting twist, I'd say make the Jedi the bad guys this time out. Luke has gone into retirement / hiding waiting for his successor to appear so he can train him to save the Jedi Order. So basic plot is the head of the Jedi Council is the new big bad and the republic is being over zealous in it's efforts to keep the peace. -
Quote:Lol Don't get me started on X3.I hated what they did with the movies - they killed cyclops, Famke was no jean grey (she was supposed to be a teenager when she met prof x).. Halle Berry was terrible as storm (she was born and raised in africa not fresno)..not to mention all the continuity they just rolled over in first class. In the wolverine movie they resuce a young cyclops and emma frost, yet she is in her 30s in the 60s? Right. Mystique was Xavier's adpoted sister?? wtf? Havok was never in the x-men before cyclops, who is now dead so..(oh and Sebastian Shaw was not a nazi and not killed by magneto) Beast did not transform before joining the x-men it was after he left the first time and not using Mystique's blood.
Fassbender made a great magneto - that was about it.
-Dark Phoenix saga doesn't work if it's not Scott who talks her down and Jean doesn't commit suicide to save everybody. It basically threw X2 out the window, and made Jean look totally pathetic and not the one who found the resolve to save eveyone from herself. -
Do what I did, drop Comics all together, except for the stuff you really like.
my Pull list:
Antarctic Press:
Gold Digger
DC:
Earth 2
Worlds' Finest
Will be checking out from the the Marvel Now stuff:

All New X-Men -
Quote:Here's the FAQ:I waited far too long for another Mechwarrior game and when it finally arrived, it was a PvP only MMO.
That was enough of a let down. I'd rather not be disappointed like that again.

Main highlights here are:
Quote:Is Star Citizen an MMO?
-Another thing to note is that the Squadron 42 part of the game is the single Player Wing Commander type experience.
No! Star Citizen will take the best of all possible worlds, ranging from a permanent, persistent world similar to those found in MMOs to an offline, single player campaign like those found in the Wing Commander series. The game will include the option for private servers, like Freelancer, and will offer plenty of opportunities for players who are interested in modding the content. Unlike many games, none of these aspects is an afterthought: they all combine to form the core of the Star Citizen experience.
-Another thing to note is that the Squadron 42 part of the game is the Single Player or Co-Op Wing Commander part of the game. -
Chris Roberts (He of Wing Commander, Privateer, and Freelancer fame) wants to make a new game.
It's a Space Sim

Quote:You also have to realize that City of Heroes basically bombed in their target market (Asia). Since this refocusing seems to be along the lines of focusing on the Asian market, it's not totally out of the blue that they would close CoH, because it doesn't fit in with their long term goals of expanding the Asian market.I'm just astonished they won't sell the game and make a buck. Once they shut it down they severely damage the value of the IP.
Loss of Face may be a cultural thing I don't understand, but I don't understand the BUSINESS decision that shuts the IP down.
NONE OF US, at CoX customers are going to another NCSoft game if they really shut CoX down. And the thought we might go to a newer game of theirs seems to be the only logical reason not to auction off CoX and get what you can for the property.
Crap, I've been taking lessons from Mojo Jojo again, darn it.... -
Quote:Are you implying that NCSoft's hand was forced? I had speculated a scorched earth policy toward ending the game this way due to Nexon and Prefect World Champion Online.
OK this one's easy. MC Soft posted a big loss last quarter. Nexon who owns a significant chunk of controlling interest says to NCSoft: "Cut Operating Costs to XXX amount." (This has nothing to do with actual profit Margins etc. This is about Operating costs in general.) Paragon Studios and City of Heroes Qualified to get the axe because of these reasons:
1. The Game did terribly in NCSoft's target market (Asia) and was shut down a couple of months after starting there.
2. CoH is the oldest game in NCSofts current Portfolio of offerings, meaning it's past it's prime, and while it's still profitable, there's not a lot of life left in the game and the operating costs can fund both Wildstar and the NA/EU port of Blade & Soul. -
Quote:This is the problem right here, that I have with ME3. They had to add multiplayer, that's fine, but then have it matter to what ending you get? That's not. I played through the first 2 games without it. Why do I need to do it to get to have all available endings? Also, did you play the multiplayer? If not, then that is why you wouldn't get over 50%. You needed a very high, something like over 4-5000 to get the "best" endings. Look 'em up on Youtube because I know my Destroy ending was different than what is shown there for a low EMS. I had something like over 7000 EMS once I got my Galactic Readiness up to 98 or so percent.

Quote:Actually, imo, it was the right move to do, but as per usual, they screwed up the implementation. It should have been a clean restart for everything, not just everything but Batman and Green Lantern. They should have had a game plan right from the get go, so that all the writers and artists were on the same page. They should have let Morrison tell Superman's back story in Action, Then started the current Superman title when he was done. That way you don't have what happened to Perez on Superman. If they do revert back to the previous continuity, Didio, Johns and Lee better have their resumes up to date because this was their idea.DC posted a questionnaire on their Facebook page in regards to the Nu52 DC universe.

Me, I personally want to see this abortion of continuity to end and never rear it's ugly head ever. -
Quote:Don't forget Origin as well.To be more accurate, they were guys who wanted to make games and realised they needed money, so became doctors to make money to make games.
Also; old news. I knew Bioware was dead as soon as I was subjected to the utter, utter {BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP-BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP-BEEP-BEEP-BEEEEEEEEEP} that was ME3.
At least Westwood, Bullfrog, Pandemic and co will have some new company to reminisce with... -
New Episodes of Young Justice return This Saturday.
Episode Deals with Artemis's "Death" and Speedy's return. -

If you're an X-Men fan A vs. X is a great jumping OFF point.
The X-Men are dead. Marvel killed them with their own hands. Somewhat integrating them into the Avengers line may seem like a keen idea, but it destroys the entire foundation that the X-Men are built on. They're social outcasts who fight the monsters (both mutant and human), that other groups like the Avengers turn a blind eye to. -
IF I play another NCSoft game, it will be Blade & Soul and it's coming over here:

Considering how well the relationship of their cinematic counterparts (Hal & Carol) I'd have to agree, but then again, they may surprise us.

Thanks for Everything, Thanks for all the work you did for us.

You're Welcome and thank you for all the effort you put forth for us.

Matrix: Reloaded granted the hype from the first one meant it couldn't measure up, but what we got was such a letdown for me that I lost the desire to see the 3rd one and still haven't.

lol Somebody had to.....
-Oh and I'll miss Arcanaville's dizzying intellect.
-Samuraiko's awesome CoH related videos. -
I rather enjoy Star trek Online. Only bad thing is you can get through the main storyline content in about a month. Grinding for gear is ok and can be done with a good fleet. There is plenty of user generated missions that are on par or better than the ones in the main missions in the game. If you love to grind, than almost everything in the game can be acquired for free, including Z-Store ships. It depends on how much you like the Trek IP.

Quote:Kirby was a great storyteller, I just don't like his art style. Same with Carmine Infantino.I googled it and it was JUST as stupid as I thought it would be.
As someone old enough to have followed most of those characters in their own titles (other than Shade- I hated Steve Ditko's art with a passion back then, ditto for Jack Kirby....what can I say, I was young and stupid), let me just say UGGGGGH. -
Actually, I'd just like to have someone who has a definitive vision for the DCnu. When your creators talk about how editorial interference is making it difficult to work there, then there's a problem.

For all of you old School Anime Fans I will recommend
Yamato: 2199
HD remake of Space Battleship Yamato season 1.
The series is being released as a series of Movies, followed by Home Video release. The series will be broadcast on TV in Japan in 2013.
-I've caught the first 6 episodes (7-10 won't be out til October) and it's well worth your time to see.
-Minor plot changes to the original, some clean up the now disproven Sci-Fi elements. If you've seen Star Blazers this totally blows it out of the water imo. It's that good.
