Only if I have the option of disabling the sound of your stupid bike engine revving. I have to listen to enough of that noise in real life.

If the un-genericed "well-known Greek god" is Apollo, DC would probably love to sue you but they can't for reasons mentioned repeatedly by others. Ditto Marvel and Hercules but he's Roman. Yes, I'm pedantic.

Quote:Being too obvious is my objection to BAB as well.Feels too obvious. But he is up there in "Most likely to die", along with Sister Psyche, Citadel, and Synapse.
Positron has his fancy new TF, Statesman is plastered all over CoH, Numina's already beaten the devs to it by being dead, Manticore was just recently prominently featured in Twinshot's arc. They're safe.
Psyche dying would give Manticore more reason to be like Batman and angst out. BABs because of reasons stated above. Citadel being destroyed could potentially open up a spot for a company or group like Crey to try to bust out a new robot hero, giving us a little more variety in hero groups and having said group save face with the people. Synapse because it'd be more tragic to kill off the lovable speedster.
Plus Citadel, Synapse, and Psyche have awful TFs that could stand to be updated.
*edit* Also, you're terrible at posting forum titles, mang. Someone's gonna come in here and complain you're potentially spoiling the SSA for 'em.
If stealing their power is the real object, Numina, Manti and Citadel are out. They have no power to steal being dead, natural and a robot respectively. Statesman would be rather a lot of work to remove. That leaves:
1. Psyche. Not much harder to remove than BAB really. Would indeed be very dramatically angsty for Manticore. Could easily be brought back comic style later with the story of having swapped minds at the last second.
2. Synapse. Easy. Too easy. No one cares quite enough about poor Steve. Killing him after all the build up would be anticlimactic. Personally I like the big dumb guy, but those are the facts.
3. Positron. "No!" you say, "Not Posi! He has a TF. He's a dev." And he also has a history of stupidly destructive self-sacrifice, like locking himself in his own armor for a decade or so.
I see a big climax with (probably Psyche - works better with a girl) chained to an altar and about two seconds away from being eaten by Yog-Sathoth or something when Positron swoops in, pushes her out of the way, takes the killing blow and expires just after whispering "I have always loved you." (You see how the impact would be a bit different if he was rescuing Synapse.)
And yes Ultimus, let's bump this in three months and see. -
Here's why not:
1. Back Alley Brawler is the only non-Caucasian member of the Phalanx (or the surviving eight.) Without him the Phalanx is a box of wafers for cheese.
Horror movies always kill off the "ethnic" guy, but this is comics - where tokenism still reigns. -
Quote:A) TA and lots of other, more popular, sets with no serious perceived problems.
A) It is such a late bloomer
B) It relies heavily on recharge
C) Damage isn't something most teams are looking for when they want to recruit a Defender
B) See above.
C) Personally I don't give a **** if I fail to fulfill other people's idea of what a Defender is "supposed" to be. Translation to Noobish: It doesn't have a heal. Cope.
Make it tintable and I'll be happy with whatever glosses are added to the powers. Now that the oil isn't bugged, that (IMO) is it's only serious issue. -
Terrific news! Troughton was brilliant and is so under-appreciated.

I ran a Faathim TF on my TA a while back with a team of 50s. They spent two and a half hours bragging about their "uber deeps" and thanking the kin. I wanted to slap them. The one time I went afk for 20 seconds to answer a /tell they all charged ahead without me (lol TA, right?) and immediately wiped on the next spawn for the only time in our run.
Take that as you will. -
Good question. According to Mids...
Acid Arrow: base resist -%20 @ 20 second duration
Acid Mortar: base resist -%26.6 @ 60 seconds duration.
(Defender numbers).
They probably were balancing the discrepancy against the recharge which is base 20 secs versus 90 secs, but still, kind of shabby.
[edit] If you're looking at the -def numbers rather than -res, Arrow is -25% versus Mortar's -20%. So it's got the edge there. All this is assuming my Mids is up-to-date. -
I've played TA for about four years. My TA/Arch is my favourite incarnate at the moment and the only Defender I've ever been able to play to 50. My thoughts:
- Remove the chance of sleep from Poison Gas altogether. As you pointed it, it's useless. Give it a chance of hold like Traps>Poison Trap. This will make the set more desirable and iconic at low levels. That barf-hold animation is "a gas."
- Acid Arrow and Acid Mortar should have comparable values. Give Acid a moderate toxic DoT. I actually don't care if it's auto-hit or not: I've always thought it a bit odd that it was.
- I love that Disruption Arrow can be targeted in the air. Don't change this!
- EMP Arrow could use a slightly shorter recharge.
And the 500-Pound Gorilla...
FOR THE LOVE OF CTHULHU LET US TINT TRICK ARROW.
Seriously - why is this set not tintable in any way? The ice hold is not only meh as a power, it's stuck as the same kludgy, opaque legacy ice colour that everyone who can, changes. Granted, TA does not lend itself to tinting as well as other sets, but neither does Traps, and it's fully tintable. This alone would boost the desirability to players without changing anything else. -
I'll third the Dev Blaster. Arch/Dev is both stealthy and deadly accurate. As for Illusion, I've paired it with Kinetics and it plays rather like a ranged Stalker.

This game has PvP?

All three of your options can solo to some degree. The one who will do it the fastest and safest is the Dominator. I won't suggest other options because that's not what you asked.

Lois is like those NPCs in bank missions who are targetable but invulnerable.

Boosterific news! Include Skeets for banter and Ted for bromance and I'm there.

Quote:Oh for the love of... I'm glad it's not just me. This image haunts my nightmares, but I assumed it was just terminal dirty-mindedness that made me suffer and that no one would understand my horror.I've been running a lot of missions lately and every time I zone into the mission area I get the same picture of Statesman versus CyberStatesman, in the very actiony but quease-inducing gender-deprived pose.
On the NCSoft page for City of heroes/Villains it has the same wallpaper as one of three downloadable promotional materials. Also there's a little arrow that leads to 3 more wallpapers, just noticed that.
See here: http://us.ncsoft.com/en/city-of-heroes/
(Under Wallpapers, on the right. The top picture is the one I'm referring to)
I'm sure it wouldn't take much to say, randomize or cycle the loading screen. It's not really a necessity, just one of those things that might help the aesthetics by preventing the picture from getting stale.
Also I'm really hoping that guy isn't that unfortunate. I mean shrinkage I can understand but I personally wouldn't allow for such an unflattering portrayal of myself.
Let me crystal clear here. I have absolutely NO interest in Statesman's junk. But the way the image is composed, it's *there.* At eye level. Unavoidable. And it's so small... In that pose even a woman's anatomy would produce more of a mound, and States - incarnate or not - would presumably wear a cup. So why is his crotch concave?
*weeps*
Oh yeah, and /signed for more loading screens. -
I've had the UI thing, and a suspiciously borked Posi part 1 TF last night at the end of which the team's shadow selves delivered such a thorough and repeated one-shot pasting that I suspect we were fighting 50s (the leader's level) instead of 17s. But I can't beat a friend's account:
"I was lucky enough to be doing the Carnival arc, and every single mission was wall to wall Vanessas. I avoided them for a few missions, and then got the "Defeat Vanessa DeVore" mission, in which I had no idea which one was the right one. I logged out promptly and cried myself to sleep." -
For anyone who's been there, if a VG/SG gets it's named genericed, do you get the option of renaming it or does it stay "GenericSG-39004" forever?
Background: I recently inherited an SG. My alt is the only character who's logged in for over a year. It's got a working base, storage and couple of million prestige. The perfect little personal lair. Problem is it has a horrible, cringe-making copyrighted name. Not even a subtle one but a popular TV show name. I've been using the alt just for emailed storage because I don't even like logging him in. The name bothers me that much. (Why did I join it in the first place? It was a favour - long story.)
So... If I get a friend to report the SG name for the EULA violation, will I get the option of renaming it? -

How dark or grim can any future be that includes coffee? Mmm... refill time.

Or you can just say RSK (reverse sidekick) for either.
