New Loading screens any time soon?
Hmm, is it just me or looks the Statesman wp like he´s about to fire a Unibeam from his chest?
BTW, wasn´t there some talk about giving every zone a loading comic like the tutorial?
But yeah, a little more variety wouldn´t be bad.

114. Ahrouns do not appreciate my particular brand of humour, so I should stop bleaching bulls-eyes in their fur.
I'd rather use that Maelstrom/Desmedona WP than the current one they have up...and I wish the CoHSplasher worked with Windows 7 =\
I just wish they'd use loading screens that aren't loaded with compression artifacts. Seriously, they're just ugly. They had a chance to trade up to higher quality a few issues back when they revamped the zone loading screens and they blew it.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
Agreed.. a little variation would be nice.
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!
I'd like to see the loading screens for TFs/SFs give us a short blurb on what exactly is happening in that section of the TF/SF. It beats having to try and read the mission/contact stuff as most teams just fly through content. I know you can get the info elsewhere but it may help solidify the story/theme a bit better.
There's an awesome bit of art that David Nakayama did that shows way more characters on it - that might be added in the future

City of Heroes comics and artwork
I've been running a lot of missions lately and every time I zone into the mission area I get the same picture of Statesman versus CyberStatesman, in the very actiony but quease-inducing gender-deprived pose.
On the NCSoft page for City of heroes/Villains it has the same wallpaper as one of three downloadable promotional materials. Also there's a little arrow that leads to 3 more wallpapers, just noticed that. See here: http://us.ncsoft.com/en/city-of-heroes/ (Under Wallpapers, on the right. The top picture is the one I'm referring to) I'm sure it wouldn't take much to say, randomize or cycle the loading screen. It's not really a necessity, just one of those things that might help the aesthetics by preventing the picture from getting stale. Also I'm really hoping that guy isn't that unfortunate. I mean shrinkage I can understand but I personally wouldn't allow for such an unflattering portrayal of myself. |
Let me crystal clear here. I have absolutely NO interest in Statesman's junk. But the way the image is composed, it's *there.* At eye level. Unavoidable. And it's so small... In that pose even a woman's anatomy would produce more of a mound, and States - incarnate or not - would presumably wear a cup. So why is his crotch concave?
*weeps*
Oh yeah, and /signed for more loading screens.

When Stateman dies, they will change it.
*No, Superman doesn't count.

Anyway, meaningless comments about in-game art aside, I still don't see them killing off the character that drives the franchise, especially when we've still got his Mirror Universe counterpart waging war on our universe. Maybe if the two of them ended up killing each other off Superman/Doomsday-style (and we all know how that turned out), but we know that won't happen since Who Will Die? will be resolved before Praetoria is (and it seems WWD is pretty much entirely separate from that storyline anyway). Also, who are they going to give his Task Force to? Back Alley Brawler? Statesman's Task Force is the signature Task Force.
No, it just doesn't add up.
I'm liking Back Alley Brawler for this. He's not a contact anymore, and all of his current appearances could be said to be set prior to WWD (but let's not even get into that spaghetti mess of interlocking continuities and timelines; wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey). I could also see Synapse buying it, with BaB stepping in to take his place, giving the devs an excuse to revamp Synapse's Task Force (although this seems somewhat unlikely after the Player Summit, but who knows, maybe the devs didn't tell us everything).
HOLY OFF-TOPIC POST BATMAN

Also the picture of Maelstrom is quite intimidating, until you picture him saying "SCHWIIING" what with the logo being right there. lol.
