In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only... coffee?

This is completely random and probably way off-topic, but since I'm such a nosy busybody, I thought I'd share.

I was recently wondering what our former CM CuppaJo has been up to lately. Last I heard she was a CM on Tabula Rasa and... well, that's probably not current.

Weeell. Turns out she's a Production Manager on Dark Millennium Online, the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 MMO from Vigil Games.

I'm jealous!

Good luck Cuppa!

There's... there's a 40k MMO coming?

*fingers crossed*

Pleeeeease let it be better than Warhammer Online... pretty please

Oh I'm quite confident it will be horrible.

Although it does have Ross Watson, former lead developer on FFG's RPG line Dark Heresy, as a quest writer. This isn't exactly bad news.

It's still a way off and they haven't really show a lot of stuff but it looks promising, though I would feel more confident about it if Relic were involved given their 40K history.

Fat chance. Everyone wants to be a space marine, but nobody wants to be a Space Marine... Somehow, most people don't like being in the shoes of a psycopathic, xenophobic, conditioned killing machine.

In the grim darkness of the current present, there is only franchises ; dumbed down in the name of mass consumption and the almighty dollar. Really, wh40k is a setting best left to strategy games (so you can ignore the massive dump they take on the lore and just play the game).

The crappy black tea, sure. But we still have the white and green teas, which are far superior to coffee and black tea.

IMO the best way to do a WH40K game would be to set it up as a squad based game where you have a certain number of points to spend how you like. As you level up you get more points. So if you start with say 500 points, you could spend it all on your squad leader and have a "squad" of one or you could purchase other squad members and have it play more like a Mastermind in Coh. The differnt races would have differnt point costs. So a Space Marine squad would have to spend alot more points to have the same number of pets as a Imperial guard, but his guys would be stronger.

Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

I quite enjoyed Space Marine. Not a very long game but fun. The hero gets led away by the Inquisition at the end. Which I was (sorry Monty Python) totally expecting.

This is a song about a super hero named Tony. Its called Tony's theme.
