It does take you out of the immersion when you see obvious mistakes like those. Come on devs, fix those.

I've been running Maria Jenkins's new missions on one of my scrappers recently. I got to the one where you have to prevent Shadowhunter from being brought back to life. The word "resurrection" is used several times in the mission title and text. Except whoever wrote this mission apparently thinks the word is "ressurection," because that's how it's spelled repeatedly.
Seriously. Professional copy editor here. Reasonable rates.

I've never been too critical of a few spelling/grammar mistakes here or there. But I do occasionally wonder how hard it would be for the Devs to run their baseline through a spell-checker. Sure it might take someone a few hours to parse through all the errors, but for a game this big I think it'd be worth the effort sometime. I'm not even talking about proofreading, which the text desperately needs as well. I'm just suggesting that a pass through an automatic spell-checker would make things 90% better than they are now.
A few errors here or there are to be reasonably expected.
But dozens upon dozens? I'm not so sure...

Please consider hiring a copy editor. Or at least make corrections when people /bug the mistakes for you.
I agree. It's very sloppy and makes the dev team look sloppy. Especially since they're pushing to attract new players. It's like showing up for a job interview with food stuck in your teeth.

I decided a while back to do all of the ouro arcs on a single toon. So I did. I read all of the text and dialog along the way. I sent in a bug report for each typo I found. I sent in quite a few.
I have not kept track or checked to see if any of them were fixed.
I got an invite to the next beta after that.
There have been a lot that I've noticed in the new content, and it really does take me out of things, if just momentarily. The biggest blunder by far, IMO, was in the first story of the Signature Arc (heroside) wherein the story contains several spelling errors, but the main villain's name is given differently in the final story clue than everywhere else in the story itself (including on the very same villain in the final mission).
I would have bugged these, but I'm not sure it's worth the bother (as I still see misspellings and grammatical errors in the old content that I've bugged before).
I love the game, and I'm not a big complainer, but grammar and spelling really irk me and I hate to see these simple things detract from such a great gaming experience.

I really do wish they would do a better job of proofreading. It's hardly the end of the world, but the constant mistakes really undercut the professional sheen of the game.

1) It'd a diffuse threat? Then I don't really have to worry about it, right? Oh, DEFUSE!.. NOW I get it!
2) You need to defuse the bombs, not the threat. Try "Defuse Nemesis Bombs"
Granted, #2 is more semantic than grammatic, but it's still sloppy.
As a general note for all the horrendous (and increasing) grammar and spelling errors I've seen in-game, I've started including helpful links to http://oxforddictionaries.com/ entries in every one of my (many, many, many) bug reports. Snark? Yes, but I'm getting sick of the increasing ESL feel in CoH...
