    Yay! Made it in there!
  2. Hey, all! Wanted to say thanks to Arcanaville, Black Pebble, and everyone else for organizing this and allowing me (us) to play. The only real big event of this sort that I've participated in, and it was nice to be a part of it. I've mostly soloed over the years, but I still appreciate the hell out of the community and the people who have given their time and dedication to the game.

Hopefully this isn't the end, but whatever comes, so long, and goodbye, as always.

    Sincerely,

Zombie Hustler/Great White Hunter/Dino Pirate/Land of the Lost/Darkoth and numerous others.

    SSA 2 pt 5 when?

Just finished the Blueside part. I didn't find Mender Silos' comments all that vague and mysterious. There was actually quite a bit of subtext there:

You ask him where Nemesis is, and he replies "Where is Nemesis? blah, blah..." His emphasis of the word Where suggests to me that if we'd instead asked- When- he might have had to definitively confess that he was Nemesis.

He goes on to talk about how Nemesis would take a long time to get over his defeat here, and learn that he isn't a man apart from the world. Sounds like another veiled confession by Silos to me; that this defeat was a pivotal moment in his life as Nemesis, and eventually helped him to come to the semi-benevolent viewpoint of Silos.

Another interesting thing that I took away from his conversation: He was specifically trying to prevent this particular event in the timeline from occurring. That, plus the reveal that the power of Pandora will never again come together in one solitary place again.

The whole conversation seems a curious blend of contrition and regret; contrition over trying to stop your hero from preventing Nemesis attaining the power of Pandora's Box, and regret that he wasn't able to ensure that Nemesis (his past self) retained the power all to himself.

Power enough to stop the Battalion, perhaps. Without the help of anyone else.

The real reason NCSoft pulled the plug; to prevent a Hal 9000 scenario.

Thanks for all the info, Black Scorpion, and to you and the team, once more, a hearty thank you for everything that you put into the game, everything that you had planned, and best of luck going forward.

    Hopefully not the end.

Given what Positron was doing in i24 by including some Rogue and Vigilante content, I wonder if Khallisti Wharf would have built on that as well.

This is why I should read all the way through a thread before responding.

That's awesome. I've been hoping for something like that for a long time (I always thought an Oranbega underground zone would be perfect for it, actually. Villains and Heroes doing their own things involving screwing with and/or cooperating with the Circle of Thorns.)

Man, so many good things were in the offing... hopefully something can still be done.

It gets mentioned a couple of times in i24 arcs; in New Praetorians and the Skulls arc, I belive (at the very least, New Praetorians). I want to say it also gets a mention in Mr. G's redside arc.

Given that, and that I can't imagine any new zones wouldn't be co-op, I'm leaning towards the belief that it would be a co-op zone. Somehow. Perhaps that unfinished industrial area would have been more villainous than heroic?
  8. So long, thanks, and best of luck.

We'll be seeing you again soon.

    (Hopefully!)
  9. (Moving my question from the Loregasm thread here where Posi intended it be in the first place)

I agree the Scirocco story sounded like it would have been really cool. A couple of questions about it, if you don't mind:

    1) What were the plans to incorporate the PC player in this, if at all? Was it just envisioned as playing out a Signature Character story using the mechanics introduced during the later revisions- ie, swapping out a character model for your character and giving them "temp" powers to represent Scirocco (a la Tyrant, Anti-Matter, and the Skulls arc in i24?)

    2) Where do you envision Ice Mistral and Scirocco's relationship? Is she in love with him, or is it a more platonic mentor/student relationship? How much of her feelings- if any- are due to his tamperings with her mind with the Malleus Mundi in his patron arc?

    That's a good point.

It does remind me of something- Nemesis' final thoughts about feeling bad about something happening to Dream Doctor in the future during DD's personal story in DA.

So maybe it was a plan that doesn't turn out quite the way it was supposed to...

Would be kind of a trip if Dream Doctor's method for removing Hamidon from Praetoria and bringing down Ouroboros was to trap the one in the other.

I don't recall, but I believe it's been said a couple of times at this point. I'm fair certain that Dream Doctor says it, and possibly Prometheus and/or Ramiel.

He's supposedly a future Nemesis or alternate Nemesis, though, from the one pulling the strings in modern times.

Myself, I think he is the one and only.

Not in my experience. I rarely PVP'd. It was never a requirement to do anything (there were a couple of missions that involved it, but they were optional. I think there might be one mission in Factions that has PVP involved that you do have to complete in order to progress, but that's it).

For many of the big story progressing missions, it is better to do them with a group than solo (even with heroes or followers), but even then it's not required. Just tougher.

I actually quite enjoy GW1, and there is still a bunch of story content that I haven't yet completed. I was probably going to pick up GW2 before all of this, but now- while I haven't ruled it out- it's much less a certainty than it was.

Guild Wars: Factions was like that. One of the most beautiful video game cities I've ever played in (Cantha's Kaineng City). Very sad that GW2 isn't (as yet) doing anything with Cantha.
  16. For what it's worth, M_I, I agree that we could use more consolidation of effort in terms of the FB pages. A lot of it is coming together, but it is still early, as others have said.
  17. Considering that I mostly solo, I would, yes.

Which isn't to say that I wouldn't miss a) the updates, b) talking/reading about upcoming updates, and c) the community.
  18. Considering how much time and effort they've put into developing GW2 (how many years ago was it originally supposed to be out now?), I think it's a pretty safe assumption that the Paragon Studios layoffs are in some way connected to it. It may not be a direct correlation, but that almost certainly played a part.
  19. I've had the same thought. I know the Browncoats did quite a bit of charity work to raise awareness of Firefly when it was cancelled (still do, in fact).

I'd be happy to assist in something myself.
  20. I haven't seen this one yet:

    1) Is Ice Mistral in love with Scirocco? If so, how much of that (if any) is due to his tampering with her mind with the Malleus Mundi, and how much real (since she still seems to be willing to change for him even as recently as I24 Beta)?

Maressa had started one based on another thread; I don't know if this would help out your efforts or not:

Were there any special considerations that caused you to cast them in the roles they were assigned?
Isn't the group featured in i24 just the "cloak and dagger" faction of Hero Corps, though? Their Black Ops group, and not the entirety of HC. I haven't run it yet myself, but it seems to me that's how it's been described.

Since this thread is about spoilers anyway, I'll go ahead and spoil this one-

In I24's St. Martial arc for villains, you learn that Mr. G's primal counterpart is... Protean!

Just bumping this forward. Maressa did a great job of organizing questions from the previous thread, and this would be a good place to consolidate our efforts, rather than scatter them throughout numerous posts and repetitions.
