The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

What's the farthest Issue that was planned for, and what are the story arcs for each of the future issues (starting with I24, since I wasn't on Beta much )?

Were there plans for a Moon Base, and if so, what Issue would it have appeared in?

Who or what was the Battalion?

Who or what was The Coming Storm? (Might be identical to the above, but asking for completeness' sake)

EDIT: Crap... wrong thread. Crossposted!

Does this mean it's over? There are tons of effort out there still trying to change NCsoft's mind. Last we heard was there were talks going on internally.

War Witch said there were secrets in RWZ that we had not found yet. What were they?

I imagine that may be part of the "wait a while before we answer," thing. If not, I don't think having a q&a session about story really diminishes a whole lot though - even if they got everything back in working order some time after we have a lot of answers, I don't think many people would complain

Were they implemented on the wrong monsters? The lusca is a "real" cryptid, described on Wikipedia as a giant octopus, so either name would work for the creature in IP. (And personally, I think of the kraken as more squidoid...)

Whoever asked about what Prometheus gave to Ermeeth...

FIRE. It's FIRE. You know, the thing that got him strung up for eaglebait by Zeus?

A valid question for City of Heroes lore is always "is that a metaphor or is that literal." It could be that in the CoH mythology, the story of Prometheus bringing fire to humanity is itself a myth based on some other "real" event or occurrence. Prometheus' antipathy towards the Well, for example, could in theory be part of that larger backstory.

I don't know why Kraken, or Jurassik for that matter, were named the way they were, but Lusca IS semi-aptly named.

In "real life", Lusca is a creature purported to live in the "blue holes" that exist in and around some of the Bahamas. It's a giant combination octopus/shark and few that see it live to tell the tale, or so they say.

Our Lusca is "just" a giant octopus, but otherwise the name is an appropriate one in the vein of all of the other monsters that have myth or folklore-based names.

Kraken and hydra I haven't a clue about, since they bear no resemblance at all to either of those mythical creatures. That's probably a question for the lore thread.

As Arcanaville said, you're probably taking this too literally. The way I always took it, the "fire" that Prometheus gave man was more than just some burning embers. It was a "spark of the divine," what gave humanity intelligence and separated man from beast.

In the CoH universe, this can be further extrapolated to say that Prometheus' gift is the reason we can be more than normal mortals. Prometheus' flames, as shown in the Mortimer Kal SF, has connections to the Well of the Furies and Incarnate potential. It could very well be that he established our very first link to the Well.

(Of course, there are a lot of people who haaaate the idea that "all super powers originate from the Well," because phrasing can make it sound like everything boils down to Magic in the end. It all depends on your personal ability to separate the ideas of "divinity" and "magic" in your own mind. Some people can, some people can't... but no one is wrong, as it's all a matter of opinion.)

People have been asking for a current lore bible, which I'd like to see as well.

There's an older one (circa Issue 3) posted here: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BypR...N2M/edit?pli=1

...which might satisfy in the interim.

While there's some outdated stuff (Avilans lol), a significant amount of the game lore seems to have survived mostly intact, just perhaps with some names changed here and there. For example, the Rularuu lore looks entirely consistent with what we're seeing now, only with Dream Doctor instead of "Gerard the Green."

I asked what Prometheus gave mankind that Ermeeth didn't give mankind first. Ermeeth, apprentice to Tielekku, is the one who taught mankind the art of magic, which Tielekku felt should be only the realm of the gods. With Magic, humans could match the gods in power and create great empires. It is because of magic that the nation of Oranbega first came into existence 14 000 years ago. Judging by all of those Fire Thorn Casters, it seems to me like people wouldn't have had much need for someone to specifically teach them fire as separate from their magical abilities.

Why I ask this is that Ermeeth already WAS the City of Heroes Prometheus, and bring in a literal Prometheus just feel like telling the same story twice, not to mention that it puts the two gods' gifts in competition. The best I could guess is this goes is this goes along the lines of the Incarnate re-write where the source of super powers became abstract and the story tried to explain people being smart as them having some link to a source of potential. I guess you could argue that Prometheus gave humans "potential," but it just seems to me that Ermeeth got there first.

While it's not a book, Red Tomax's website is a pretty comprehensive collection of the red and blue content. I'm not sure how much yellow content it has.

I'm incredibly grateful, and I'm also sorry, in advance, for the mind-numbing amount of work that answering all these questions will surely be.

Now, get back to work.
