August 24th for Paragon Point purchases?
Awesome. Nature Affinity that came out on the 21st was a wise investment. -
I think me finally getting the hang out of Architect Entertainment.
I had this idea to run a storyteller driven AE arc. Basically, it involved me narrating the scene while we went through the mission. Less pow-pow, more storytelling. And I said I was going to do this to the SG I was in without ever seeing if it was possible.
The idea was a Freakshow rave. I had the story pretty much say that the Freakshows had taken over a Dr. Vahzilok warehouse. And naturally they decide to throw a rave a few weeks later. Half way through the race, I wanted a Freakshow to accidentally release some chemicals, dose the rave with zombie juice, and turn the entire dance floor into a killing group for our heroes.
It took me awhile but I finally was able to work it all out. All it required was some luck and my theory work coming together.
So, I originally was only going to bring four people on the arc because it was one of my first. However, I ended up with seven people including myself. So, we RP with the intro-contact (Freakshow Bouncer) to let us in. The story for our heroes were they were legit just looking for a good time!
So they get in and they walk in to the Cesspool. I had seven bosses up on the top of cesspool all surrounded by people. I made them all allies with no fighting abilities. Anyways, all of them are dancing. I tell my crew to go to an internet techno station and they RP dancing in the rave for about twenty minutes.
Then I start putting in the narration in team. Like how there is a VIP section in the basement for the actual Freaks. Or how they start hearing screams from down below - wow! The party much be a real rager down there! Then I have the bouncer for the VIP area vanish into the elevator after grabbing his shotgun. So, the heroes start getting a little cautious...
Then I click on the two hidden glowies around the room. Suddenly from the elevator, we have zombies attacking the allies! Since the NPCS aren't designed to fight, they go down easily. AND I have it every time one of the bosses die, more zombies spawn around the room.
The heroes are so confused what's going on, by the time they get it together, the entire dance floor is just crawling with violent zombified ravers. The crew barely put them all down after ten minutes of fighting.
They go down to the VIP area, save the few survivors there, and they leave as heroes.
I got mad kudos for the effect. I was just so happy that it actually worked out. I know it's nothing like getting a Master of Statesman badge (Never got it! >_<) but it was one of the moments I was most proud of. -
Did you ever consider doing something with Ms. Liberty that involved a punishment? For one, she polluted the waters of Port Oakes by sinking the Cairo Queen (Exploration badge). She also is responsible for the resurrection of Red Widow (Valentine's Day Event), one of Arachnos deadliest assassin. Add that to Longbow's invasion of Praetoria (I think I recall an NPC saying that wasn't signed off on?) and it really feels like Ms Liberty was allowed full run of the place. Her heart was in the right place but I can't say I see her any different from FrostFire.
I believe Frostfires backstory involved him -trying- to be helpful but accidentally causing an explosion that killed people. Ms. Liberty's approach to heroism seems to take on the same approach. She means well but she's done some environmental damage (oil tanker in Port Oakes. People, not villains, do require those waters to fish!) along with bringing back some very nasty people. Is the reason why she never got punished because she was Statesman's granddaughter?
So, did you ever consider having a story with her becoming a vigilante? Or at least scolded for her brash behavior? -
Oh! Right! The other post. I'll ask there.

Name: Father Gerard Henri's Home for Wayward Youth
Server/Game:Virtue/City of Villians
Currently Recruiting: Currently seeking like-minded RPers to fill our ranks.
RP Level: RP-Intensive? That sounds nice and professional. So... yes... RP-Intensive. Like Intensive Care -- Wait.. That doesn't make-
PvP Level: None (Though you are welcome to kick as much heiney as you like privately)
Theme/Concept: We're a redside RP-heavy group on the Virtue Server. But we're not villains -- instead, Father Gerard Henri’s Home for Wayward Youth focuses on orphaned or abandoned teens. While the home is filled with mostly normal orphans, a small group of them (PCs) are being trained secretly by the faculty in order to use their powers and skills to improve life in the lawless Etoiles.
Activity: We're seeking intelligent and respectful roleplayers who enjoy creating stories in nuanced situations (like living in the Isles but still trying to do the right thing). We want to avoid epic characters with staggering powers and colossal backstories -- we're gritty, we're down-to-earth, we're about the little details that make stories sing. Most importantly, we want people who are as invested in the group and the stories of others as they are in their own.
Activities include exploring the Isles and its hidden areas, running AE missions, and just enjoying each other's company. We want a community of RPers that share a common environment.
Requirements for Membership: Our environment and setting has been called unique by some. Others don't use such nice words. We expect our members to accept our environment/reality and help build it with us. We are a community that wishes to keep our stories from crossing over to a certain level of 'epicness'. Interested? Please look on our board for how to join.

Out-of-Game Contact(s): TheMindfulFool is the OOC Contact area. However, you should try contacting from our boards at http://www.fatherhenrihome.com/forum/index.php.

Coalition(s): Always interested in meeting like minded individuals who care to share a common story!
Other Details: We mostly are just looking for people who want to RP within the setting we've established. We want storytellers, players, and (most importantly) nice and respectful individuals. -
The Wards at Father Henri have been having a heck of a time. We have a few new recruits and we're glad they've joined us.
Just recently, we completed a fantastic interactive story on our boards about a fire at the Home. It can be found HERE.
Not only that, but we continue to add more to our Map Section of the forums that holds our game lore.
Here is the newest addition: The Homeless Network -
Father Gerard Henri's Home for Wayward Youth have finally finished their first arc!
The past of the Order has crawled itself out from the grave and into the Home's life again. A member thought dead has been brought back to life by a student of Vahzilok. Thirsty for blood, this ex-member hopes to ruin everything the Home was built for. Or is there other things that are in motion?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The arc 'Sunny Days' was quite a thrilling ride for us all. Our wards got to investigate the Isles, look deeper into the horror that is Doctor Vahzilok's research, and they got to face off with one of the founding members of the Order. Not only that, but the life of Theo Walker was completely at risk! If they had failed a few missions, the PC would have been lost. However, while the Rogue Isles is a wary place, sometimes sunshine peaks through.
The wards of the Order were able to best Sunny, save Theo, and also uncover most of the mystery surrounding the resurrection of Sunny. Not only that, but they were able to gain new allies along with create new enemies for later use.
To read more about the adventure, I suggest our 'Here and Now' thread. While the beginning of the arc is found throughout the thread, most of the key points can be found starting HERE and downward.
Now that our arc is finished, there is no better time to join the Home! Check Us Out . -
Alright! National Day in Etoile has started and Father O'Connely of 'Father Gerard Henri's Home for Wayward Youth' was asked to give his speech at the Port Oakes Block Party.
How'd he do? -
From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
At our highest count, we had forty guests at the party. Of course, people came and went so we know the count was higher for overall guests. So, thank you all! We had people riding our ferris wheel! We had people drinking and playing our carnival games! And of course, we had DJ Boss from ParagonBroadcasting to make the night a complete success.
So, thank you again. You guys were great. -
Party is about to get started in 15! We can't wait to see you all at the base portal in Port Oakes!
-
See you all there tonight at the Port Oakes Base Portal! Party starts at 9:30 EST!
-
See you cool guys tomorrow!
-
We hope to see you all there come Monday!

Okay, these are my first attempt to bringing audio RP into the game. An old SG I was in ran an event where parts of Paragon City were being given psionic abilities by a group of psionic terrorist called 'The Psionic Evolved'.
Now mind you, this is with a crappier mic, a crappier editing program, and very limited time. So, I think it's not the best work but it was my first real start in CoH Audio.
Part One: The Threat
Part Two: The Attack
Part Three: The Results
Part Four: The Demise
Basically, the SG spent two weeks Rping having the ability to read minds. What ended up happening was the Psionic Evolved had their 'device' and hide out right in Galaxy City. As the last clip hints at, they would have been fine if the Galaxy City disaster didn't occur! Poor timing on their part! -
Note: I am moving my previous post to here because this seems like a better place.
Hey, hey! I've been working on some audio files for my VG. Thought I'd start posting them publicly since... well.. I enjoy showing off stuffHope you guys enjoy them.
First submission is a 2 minute long WSPDR segment about National Day (An Etoile Holiday)!
WSPDR Radio Broadcast
More audio files to be posted as they come about. -

Hey, check it out! WSPDR on the Rogue Isles actually picked up the story of National Day! Listen to it and we hope to see you at the block party this Monday!
Hear WSPDR's Radio Coverage NOW!
(Also! Looking for anyone who wants to bartend/cook food for the festival. Or host a carnival game!) -
Can't wait to see you there, folks. It'll be a blast next Monday!
Still looking for:
Bartenders -
Our neighborhood is hosting a block party in honor of Etoile National Day! Businesses, apartments, and even the Home have decided to pool their resources to throw a small celebration for National Day. The road has been taped off and street vendors have begun setting up their trade! So come for the food. Come for the drink! Come for the music!
Be part of the neighborhood celebration.
When: Monday, June 25th at 9:30 PM Eastern Standard Time
Where: Meet at the base portal of Port Oakes
Activities Include:
* Live DJ from ParagonBroadcasting!
* Enjoying our Ferris Wheel... here is hoping it doesn't break down again.
* Food and Drink
* Carnival Games
Rules:
There are three simple rules that we ask everyone to follow.
1) No violence -- If you wish to fight, take it outside the base. This is a street fair. We don't need to halt the party because two people decided to throw down and create Rp for just themselves.
2) No sex -- Keep it PG-13, folks. This is a block party, not an orgy.
3) No Explosions/Stealing/Eating Orphans -- Simply put, the Orphanage is well protected and watched over.
Want to volunteer?
We are currently looking for:
* Bartenders
* Cooks
* Fortune Tellers for a booth
* Anything you wish to add!
Have an idea for a booth, tell us! We'd love to have it. As long as it follows our rules, we'd be glad to have you aboard. -
Father Gerard Henri's Home for Wayward Youth will be hosting a block party at the end of the month! Currently, we're aiming for June 25th (Monday). We still are in the works of planning this out but here is the basic premise of the party! Yes, we made an Etoile Holiday!
Etoile National Day
Port Oakes is celebrating the only way they know how! Festivities for the kiddies and music for the adults!
So, if anyone would find an idea of a block party to be interesting and want to help in any way, please send me an email or contact me via @TheMindfulFool. We want to invite any and every group of the Isles to celebrate Etoilian pride (as long as everyone agrees to leave their giant death rays at home). -
I saw people get to level 50 without leaving Praetoria. The way they would do it is with constant teaming from people. Now, seeing that Nightward is new, this is possible for one to do. However, when the 'its new' feel runs out of Nightward, it might be difficult.
However, you should be able to run Nightward up until around 40. Kill everything, do repeatable missions, and all that jazz.
So short answer: Yes. -

Nerva has several locations of 'Nick's Weiners'. Very nice environments. Father Gerard Henri's Home for Wayward Youth hangs out at a few of them during the week.

Father Henri's Home is still around and we've gotten to know a lot of our new recruits! We've had a most fantastic time running around the Isles and meeting up with many of the redside groups. We look forward to continuing to tell our story as we offer to assist with telling yours.
Current Stories:
Doctor Cutter took a pull from her cigarette as she paced the halls of St. Gibbs Memorial Hospital in Mercy Island, her hands intertwining over and over again. She tried keeping her mind distracted, tried focusing on other things such as how many syringes were stolen by some junkies two days ago. She thought about her patients that were showing signs of improvement and even those that were not She even did what she told herself not to do and thought of her life in Paragon...
'Christ, William would have been sixteen in a few weeks'.
She winced and just shook her head. That had been stupid -- now she was depressed and worried. She wanted to try to go about her business for the day but all she could think about was the shipment of medicine that had yet to arrive. The infected from Mercy weren't going to survive long if they didn't get the crate and it had already fallen to three hours late.
Cutter let out a breath and fell back into a discarded wheel chair. A few nurses gave her skeptical looks as they passed, either over the cigarette in her hand or the look she gave them. Regardless, Cutter was left to her thoughts, her smokes, and her worry.
Her phone rang.
Cutter sat up quickly, snatching her cellphone from her pocket and snapped it open. She pressed the phone against her ear and quickly identified herself.
"Ah. Yes. Cutter. Doctor Susan Cutter."
The voice on the line was crisp. Clear. Calm. These were all things that sent warning bells off in Cutter's head. The Isles were not a place for calmness and niceness -- she had been here too long to believe otherwise.
"I believe you are waiting for an important shipment."
Her heart raced. He knew who she was and where to contact her and what she had been waiting for. She hesitated for a second, tried to collect herself, and then asked, "Who the hell is this?"
"Mister Brown, Doctor Cutter. And I think you are in desperate need of friendship."
Friendship. More alarm bells. More fear.
"I suggest you return to sitting in that wheelchair, Doctor Cutter. I have some unfortunate news."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doctor Susan Cutter has lost an important shipment of medicine to the Snakes. A mystery man known as Mister Brown has promised to help her find it if shes willing to split the crate of meds with him. Half would go to the people in need at the hospital, and the other half would go to Mister Brown for the Black Market. Seeing no alternative, Doctor Cutter asks Douglas Barren to assemble the wards of Father Gerard Henris Home of Wayward Youth.
They report and are briefed. The medicine has been brought down deep into the warrens of the Snakes. However, Mister Brown claims to know a back entrance into the hatchery. All Cutter has to do is find a band of mercenaries crazy enough to trust him.
The wards are given directions and move through the streets of Mercy Island. On their way to the secret cave, the group comes across a group of sick homeless men, women, and children. They have the illness that Cutter is trying to treat, but no hope of getting treatment. Unsure how to disperse the group, the wards promise that theyll return with medicine.
As they move through the cave, they soon realize why the Snakes havent occupied it yet. Giant spiders have claimed ownership of the darkness in this underneath! Soon enough, the kids find themselves running through the shadows and rocks, trying their best to find the way to the Hatchery! Sadly, they attract the attention of several of the webs residents.
They make it to the Hatchery, find the missing crate, and fight their way back through the tunnels. The stumble out into safety, crate in hand, and see the group of sick islanders. A choice is given to them. In order to save everyone in the group in front of them, theyd have to give about half of the crate away. Do they give away Mister Browns half or do they leave the homeless so they can complete the deal with him?
The choice is left to the wards. Eight of them vote. After heavy deliberation, the wards realize that if they made an enemy of Mister Brown, theyd be putting the Home in danger. They vote to leave the homeless horde to their sickness and death, and return to Doctor Cutter.
Because of their choice, a new NPC has opened up to them for later use! However, the psychological damage of leaving so many to perish haunts them.
They are too young to be making these choices.
